Everything To Keep Your Project Organized
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility to craft your own spaces & pages, makes this platform ideal for companies across a multitude of mediums. At an early stage startup, we were able to use Confluence to maintain transparency across all departments while building our product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve of using the platform was definitely difficult for me. I did not have a technology background, and it took a solid week of using the platform to understand the majority of it's functionality. This could also be because the functionality is so vast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We realized the platform is excellent for groups to communicate project developments with each other, and also a great place for brainstorming, as all comments can be logged and searched. We use the platform for calendars & timelines, recording process flows for future employees, as well as business development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You have the ability to craft your own spaces. Consider you needs so you have an outline going in.

What do you dislike about the product?
Mobile input could be a little better - I consume/publish a lot of information on a mobile device. Extend mobile functionality
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication between two groups (PM in US, Development in India). Confluence was better than Basecamp for this - as we had regular updates - created templates that everyone understood, and stuck with them - the communication process was greatly improved
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider paying for Atlassian training for your admins. I had to learn a lot of the feature set on my own. I think there is tremendous benefit from training!
Good experience with Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
- Different Macros which allows you to do almost anything that is required at an enterprise level.
- It allows you to embed other software's like Microsoft word/excel/PPT, etc.
- It allows you to embed other software's like Microsoft word/excel/PPT, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
- it has some limitations with MAC. It is difficult to link the team calendar in MAC Outlook. (Though there is a workaround)
- Existing text/color choices in Confluence are limited.
- Existing text/color choices in Confluence are limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- At our company, it is used a central repository for all the domain/ organization and team level information
Confluence as an In-Office Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is basically a wiki that you can create for your business. I have used it a ton by writing my own guides to storing information that can be used between different divisions within a business. I would highly recommend it!
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't too much to dislike about it. The only thing I would change is the formatting. Make it more similar to a forum because copy + pasting things can be a pain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in the telecom industry and we use it for multitudes of things. I think one of my favorite uses of the platform is the ability to work between groups of people. So I can fill out a spreadsheet and instead of having someone come and ask me for that info, they can simply search the document and get the info themselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you feel your business is starting to grow quickly and you need a good wiki software confluence is the direction you need to venture!
Great for SOP's and product documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Integration with other atlassian products, ease of creating pages, moving pages, and creating public and internal documentation/spaces. I also like that you can see who's owning the page and making edits. Very helpful when seeing who added worflows and flow charts to identify with crowd user in your company was making the edut.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the search is a little wonky and not as robust. Also, I wish the interface was a bit more customizable, however the fact that it is cleaner is a feature I like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product development. Integration with JIRA, and cross team work improves when documenting sop's and workflow procedure/best practices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's definitely a great tool to consider, especially if you are using other atlassian products.
Useful for wiki
What do you like best about the product?
Shared information across team members on wiki
What do you dislike about the product?
The type of resources that can be uploaded is fairly limited
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Useful when onboarding new members so they can read through resources
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
I like many features of Confluence. I love that it is user friendly, easy to modify. I like that you can watch pages and set up alerts. I like that you can mark favorite pages. I also like that you can link to other pages. Our company uses that feature a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the "digest" when it comes to my email. For example, when a page changes I only like to receive those alerts once a week, however, when it comes in via digest form, it is very hard to understand what pages changed and what changed on them without going and looking yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the pages to help with guidance around the company. It's beneficial because they are easy to search and easy to find. It is also very collaborative, so others can contribute as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I definitely would recommend if you need a sort of "wiki" type tool. With how easy it is to use and searchable, it's a great tool.
Excellent tool for documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use! Web page like functionality without needing to know anything on layouts, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit more customization would be nice, but not a big deal
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation of processes - that's huge. Project summaries are also a big benefit.
Wiki warehouse for all our FAQs
What do you like best about the product?
We used Confluence to house a ton of how-to's and walkthroughs for processes. The search functionality greatly improved in my time using the solution. Adding keywords helped index the data and make the info usable for all parties.
What do you dislike about the product?
If articles/wikis weren't given appropriate keywords, the search functionality wasn't ideal. When searching for a particular how-to I had used in the past, I couldn't track it down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence allowed the opening of information to entire teams and more of a self-service model for support internally. Rather than bugging developers or managers with questions on how to do a task, all the information was neatly stored and searchable.
Visibility of information
What do you like best about the product?
Managing documentation is easier. It has reduced steps for maintaining application development documentation like design documentation. Earlier I had to write a document, save it and than struggle to upload it, whereas now I just need to write and save it.
Another awesome feature is, as soon as you update your document a notification is send to all the relevant members of the team.
For developers it provides a coll feature called as Gliffy, which helps to design various architecture diagrams, so no need for expensive tools like Visio
