Confluence is an excellent collaborative documentation tool
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Confluence for the past couple of years for both personal and professional use, and I'm very happy with it. It is an excellent way for me and my colleagues to collaborate and edit the documentation for our software product. Having the ability to do version control on all of our documentation makes it easier to manage our information flow and see what changed and why.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some things I don't like about Confluence. I don't like how it doesn't support a variety of browsers and it can be a lot of effort to get it set up on a new machine. Finally, it can be a pain to search for and edit old files within the application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s helping our team work more transparently and efficiently. Project specs, meeting notes, and processes are now organized and easy to find, which has significantly reduced duplication of effort and onboarding time for new team members.

Formatting can be clunky, and page permissions sometimes get confusing in large spaces.

Excellent tool for documentation and knowledge base build
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is such a great tool! It serves as our central hub for all project documentation. We rely on it for everything—from detailed user guides and helpful how-to guides for various processes, to ensuring that our important release notes are always up-to-date. Plus, it’s an ideal way to build our team's knowledge base, making it super easy to find all our collective wisdom and solutions. With everything organized, we spend less time searching and more time getting our work done efficiently!
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is that the editor can be a bit tricky. Sometimes when you insert images, they don't always show up exactly how you want or resize correctly on different screens. Also, copy-pasting other content, like tables, can mess up the formatting and take extra time to fix. And finally, managing permissions for different people across many spaces can get a bit complicated sometimes. You really have to keep an eye on who can see what.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence solves scattered information problems. Previously, details about our apps, features, and translations were scattered in emails, shared drives, and personal notes, making it difficult to find updated versions.
Now, Confluence provides a central location for documentation. This greatly benefits me as I can efficiently manage app features, ensure translation consistency, maintain user guides, and develop our team's knowledge base. It results in less search time, fewer misunderstandings, and more efficient work, keeping projects on track.

Best collaborative documentation tool
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is very easy to use and implement. It revolves around the idea of being a wiki, which promotes users from creating and editing content on the platform. It encourages users to work collaboratively, and being open, but does have all the permission and security control one would need.
There is also a very active community with 3rd party apps to add additional features and functionalities to the product.
There is also a very active community with 3rd party apps to add additional features and functionalities to the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence, especially the Confluence Cloud, can be difficult to customize its look and feel. If you want to make Confluence look like something other than a documentation platform, you would often need to rely on 3rd party apps to do that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is our documentation platform. Both technical and non-technical teams create and maintain their documentation using Confluence, rather than sending copies of PDF or Word doc in emails everywhere. This helps to keep a single, up to date copy of important documentation with version control.
