Clarity when people need to get things done

  • July 12, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have tried a multitude of project management software and although some came close none compared to using confluence with Jira.
I love how commenting works so well on document and how much it has increased team collaboration in the company.
The ability to work off of pre-determined templates was really helpful as it gave me and the team a framework to get started with.
The integration with Jira and especially when used with the SCRUM methodology is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Let me start of by saying that Confluence is not the prettiest online tool or the easiest to use when you first start using however if you keep using it and learning all the functionality you end up with one magical piece of software to help you define and manage a project with a team.
Some features seem cumbersome and the UX can be complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to find a tool which would help our company have one central place where the teams could clarify requirements and project discussions. Confluence does this very well as-well as integrating into Jira where we track the progress of a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend time watching videos about how to use it before you jump in.

Confluence Review

  • July 12, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence gives my team a single, central place to store all documentation without having to worry about versioning, ownership, or access privileges. It's great at what it does, and integrates nicely with JIRA.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only real negative I've seen is that it is difficult to import documents from our existing shared network drive directly into Confluence, although this isn't a problem Atlassian can be expected so reasonably solve, given how many different environments it would have to support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with a medium sized (~20 people) team, some working remotely, to develop a software product given constantly changing customer demands using Agile methodology.

Easy to use collaborative documentation

  • July 06, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- ease of use and clear UI
- ready-to-use macros for embedding links, code, pictures, diagrams, and more
- multiple teams and permission levels for access customization
- watch and monitor pages for changes with email notification
What do you dislike about the product?
- uses own wiki-like markup and formatting, which is not very flexible
- cannot view tree method viewing multiple pages and directories to manipulate many pages at once (or at least I couldn't find it)
- version control per page is not intuitive and not easy to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you want a centralized source of information similar to Wikipedia, Confluence is a good choice. With its collaborative document system and its ease of use, one can realize how easy manipulating the documents are.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Test drive the confluence documentation hierarchy, try writing a few documents, and then link to several other files or directories. You should see how easy or hard it is after trying it out.

Documenters Dream

  • June 30, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very simple to create a navigational hierarchy that makes sense.
What do you dislike about the product?
Page security permissions are challenging - they inherit the permissions from the page above in the hierarchy, and you cannot override that on a per-page basis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting product, internal decisions... scoping projects, team building, organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have an internal champion to help guide teams into setting up their spaces to the best effect.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how all team members can get access to these pages and utilize it as a log for activities during their work periods.
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally have not come across any issues with this particular software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We like to use it as our shift logs and it has been great for those who are working a shift to log into this page, fill in what happened on their shift, and submit it for everyone to access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you use the latest version

Great doc system, bar none

  • June 27, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence's price point is excellent. Low price, tons of features. We use Confluence in our work environment and it works great! The demo worked perfectly. We installed it in our lab first and tested it and couldn't find anything wrong. So rolled the production paid copy and it works great. Never have issues. Structure is great. I can't recommend it enough. Easy to use. Easy enough for ANYONE.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find nothing wrong with Confluence. Price, function, and features, hard to find a comparison.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge base documentation system for our internal employees and engineers.

Nice interoffice collaboration wiki and document repository

  • June 27, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the integration with many document tools like PlantUML, LucidChart, etc.

Confluence is a simple and straightforward tool which has rich features accessible when you need them.

Searching for documents based on title or other keywords is also fast and relevant.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have experienced some problems in the past while collaborating on the same page with someone else. Confluence mostly does a good job trying to merge the changes but has occasionally run into conflicts. It does not seem to offer any manual way to resolve these conflicts short of overwriting the other collaborators' edits. It would be a nicer experience if editing Confluence pages was similar to Google Docs, which makes real-time collaboration much more fluid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The company I work for uses Confluence as wiki for design documents, specifications, and other information that is useful for sharing and collaboration between employees.

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to organize content within spaces and creating pages inside them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inline commenting functionality on pages is subject to some buggy behavior.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to have a central location for developers and managers to share contact concerning our technical activities.
