Confluence Review

  • October 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a software developer, Confluence is extremly user-friendly. I can easily create and organize documents, share code snippets, and track project progress. The flexibility of templates and the ease of adding content, whether text/Code/Images is truly amazing. It is a go to tool for keeping processes documented and keep everyone in the team and organization on the same page without any headaches.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Space in which I am creating the document can be tricky at times. I was troubled for a week with this. if the document was created in my space or teams space or organization's space is confusing at times. Also as your organization grows, the pricing can get a bit steep, which might not suit everyone's budget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is actually pretty valuable for me as a software developer. It helps me get all the scattered information and knowledge received from emails/text messages/Channels in one place. Having the information cascaded here saves a lot of time for myself as well as the organization. It allows me to work together seamlessly, whether we're coding, planning projects, or just sharing ideas. It boosts productivity and keeps everyone in the loop. It's version control is cool tracking who made changes when they made changes and what those changes were. Overall Documenting Processes and decisions in one place and reducing the chances of missing critical information.

Wikipedia of company projects

What do you like best about the product?
As I said this can be referred as the company wikipedia for projects. We just place the basic design document in a template and share with all for easy access. All the team members access this frequently to go through and design their part of work easily. The features are very impressive. Integration of products like slack, Google Drive is very convenient. As this is the documentation hub of our company the team uses it frequently. We receive great customer support from the team though anyone can find ample knowledge from third source.
What do you dislike about the product?
Managing permission is complicated task for new comer. When real-time editing of multiple pages happen then unresponsive pages error occurs. This is a costly affair for any large company though it has some awesome features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It became the centralised knowledge base for our projects. We don't need to share the printed documents or digital documents to the internal stakeholders. Also it is safe and secure.

A remote friendly workspace.

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence's ease of use is one of the major reason why we use it for knowledge management in my company and this is among the things I like best about it. The confluence platform comes with easy navigation , which makes it very intuitive for creating , sharing and organizing important team notes.
I like how Confluence offers multiple layers of security and access control to ensure that only authorized parties have access to information we share on the platform, which are sometimes sensitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I have encountered external teams we collaborate with, who have attempted using Confluence for project management purposes, my team's use of Confluence is restricted to knowledge management only. As far as our use of Confluence for knowledge management is concerned , I have had a satisfactory experience with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is currently used within my department, as a central repository where important information related to the day to day functioning of my department is saved. Having access to an easy to access centralized repository where important informational resources are stored, eliminates the need to search through disorganized files and emails, to find relevant documents on a daily basis. Thus, Confluence saves us time and reduces the chances for errors as far as locating vital files needed to function within my department is concerned.

Versatile group project collaboration tool providing centralized workspace for sharing knowledge

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a great software for team collaboration and knowledge sharing. It has more than 100s of pre-existing templates. It allows easy connections across teams and also provides access controls. It's a very great tool for creating, maintaining and sharing customer-facing knowledge-base articles. Also, one more amazing feature is it syncs well with other attlassian tools like JIRA etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like administration part can be a pain unless one know exactly what roles are correct which makes it a bit confusing. Customization options are little less and certain document formatting options are limited and difficult to use. You cannot set the group or user defaults for email preferences, so users get bombarded by emails whenever any page is updated. Also, confluence's pricing model can be costly for those who need more premium features or integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It puts documentation all in one place. Its real-time editing capabilities is helping our team to work together seamlessly, making updates as needed.
Using a systematic content strategy, we were able to create a substantial amount of documentation and resources, which facilitated a smooth project execution. Additionally, the platform's integration capabilities make sure that our work ecosystem remains consistent, boosting overall productivity

Confluence brings knowledge collaboration to life.

  • September 22, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence comes with excellent built-in document management features that empowers my team to save , structure, and distribute documents from a centralized location. This convenience allows members of my team to access vital project information and documentation whenever it is required, thereby connecting our daily workflow to our internal collaboration processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Few professionals that I have interacted with, they faced challenges with using Confluence because their teams tried using Confluence as a project management software , even though it primarily functions as a collaborative and documentation hub, that should be integrated with a standard project management software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used primarily as a collaboration and documentation tool , Confluence facilitates teamwork and the sharing of knowledge within my organization. We use it to document project plans, keep track of project-related information, and collaborate on various aspects of team and departmental projects.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It acts as a great tool to store all the documents (including the docs created by my team members or other team members) in a unified place.
This way we obviously know where we can find all our documents and prevent panic situation in case of urgent need of a process doc/training material.
Also, when KT sessions are conducted, it has acted as a great tool for creating KT tracker pages using basic HTML skills/pre-defined templates.
