Confluence is fine for what it is.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to organize information, training documents, and forms. I used it when training for my new job, and it was a precious resource and was incredibly easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how bare bones it is. While it can house all the information you need, it's straightforward to sort through to get the information you need. The User Experience is very lackluster
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving the problem of not having a location to house information in one easy place. Confluence can house everything you need with parent and child pages so that you can easily navigate between related pages.

Great Database Tool for Internal Knowledge

  • December 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great tool for any company but particularly start-ups that need ways to standardize information sharing. You can easily create shared learning spaces and locations for different teams, policies, and company segments.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more robust tools for creating a table of contents and easier ways of sharing what information is sourced where without having to click into it. Additionally a more robust integration with Google Drive for organizing files housed in different locations so they are easy to find in Confluence. Additionally adding system reminders every 6 months to a year to remind users to update the information and make sure it's up to date on certain pages (with notifications that it was last updated x date).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves a lot of organizational problems, creating a one-stop-shop for company information. Easy to share and easy to learn how to use - it's an excellent source for new employees or employees moving to different segments internally.

Documentation management for your organization

  • December 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can have different types of media added to enrich your documentation, so it's open far beyond conventional traditional formats i.e. docx, xml, etc. you use flow charts, diagrams, or technical tools to improve your information.
What do you dislike about the product?
formatting documents can be a little tricky, specially if you use many different headers, titles and paragraph layers, at times it can be frustrating to get it right or make it work smoothly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
democratizing information and the possibility to create workspaces for different business units where various team members can contribute to improving the strength of the information and the quality of the knowledge
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be patient with the formatting since it can be a little tricky to have Confluence work it exactly as you mean; besides that, you should quickly convey the information you want to your team and other teams.

Be sure to leverage the many options to create an enriched experience for those unfamiliar with the topic. Confluence is a great tool to use for documentation.

Best Knowledge Base System

  • December 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Analytics part.I can review the most popular content and most active users. The calendar is also very helpful because we can turn COnfluence into a project manangement system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the platform is very slow when knowledge base pages have a huge amount of data. Hopefully in the future we can have a lighter interface that can handle the huge amount of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple, we have a all in one platform, project management, team calendar, knwoledgebase, team tasks. We use this daily and our productiviy has grown and we can concentrate on work rather than searching for word docuemnts and excel.

With an Engineer Mind, Perfect Collaboration Tool

  • December 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a versatile tool that can be used for an abundance of collaboration, storage, and tracking purposes. There are really unlimited uses for this software, which makes it a very useful tool to have on any team. Connecting to other Atlassian products, programs such as Jira only improve the functionality of Confluence. In HR, we generally use it to house policies, policy revisions, approvals for requisitions, quarterly goals for employees, collaborating on official documents, and more. I am certain that there are many other uses that would benefit us greatly, and we simply need more time and experience with the product to learn more.
What do you dislike about the product?
The endless functionality of Confluence is a double-edged sword- while Confluence truly has many uses, for non-engineering minds such as my own, there are so many uses that are going unused, and are too complicated to use. Reporting functions, template creations, full-potential collaboration efforts, spaces, etc- for my not-tech mind, at the surface level this software is very easy to use, but there are many things beyond the surface that become much more difficult to use. For example, connecting Confluence to Jira and having the two systems talk to each other (both Atlassian products)- easy in concept, not so common sense in application. I recognize that more training and time with the product will be beneficial, and this isn't a determining factor for my enjoyment of the product. It is simply a bit frustrating at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are storing many company documents and policies on Confluence. The overall company has many spaces within this software for many forms of utilization, but for HR, we find it useful to have documents, version history, and links that we can easily send to people to refer to policies. We used to use our HRIS system to store policies, but to refer back to them or send to employees it was time-consuming to log into the portal that logs out after 5 minutes of inactivity, find the document, download it, then send. With Confluence it takes 3 clicks of my mouse to find a document, and I love its simplicity.

A review of Confluence

  • December 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In a professional setting, it is a nice and secure way for you and your peers to collaborate on and view documentation. It is easy to create, format, manage and share documents. Plus since it is part of the Atlassian suite, it easily integrates with their other tools such as the Jira task tracking tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
One setback of the tool is that it lacks a good search feature. It can be difficult to search for a particular document that you are looking for if you can't remember where exactly it resides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Confluence in a professional setting to manage all of our proprietary documentation. We plan projects, document product requirements, user feedback, and meeting notes within this tool.
