Very useful tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the availability of different templates and the fact that it works so well with Jira
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool really takes some getting used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing software development projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This tool is great, I use bitbucket for my project repo, and having confluence just makes it so much easier for me to find and search for things within just one platform, I have also integrated Jira with it and I am loving it.
Straight forward note taking, documentation store, and blog.
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has great search functionality and makes it fairly easy to add documentation or do blog write ups. Our organization also uses it for meeting notes if it works well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like Jira, it can be very complicated. There are a lot of ways to configure confluence. The search functionality could be more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use at as our primary means of documenting features internally and almost every single meeting get to meeting notes stored in confluence. It gives us great visibility throughout our entire team.
Extreme process management and training resource
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is easy to use, and we collaborate with others to create articles useful for training. The tools, navigation, and ability to allow access to certain pages are all useful collaboration tools that enable us to grant permission and delegate responsibility in creating articles. It's high security makes it so only people we want to see the information can, so we can keep confidential information accessible to only the people who should have access.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that I must write a complete word into the search to search for anything. In the past, I could type a few letters to find the Confluence page I needed, but ever since an update to the website a while back, searching for articles has been a bit more cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Confluence, we build a database full of resources that anyone can quickly lookup regardless of their position. We can train new team members, and anyone can see the processes of anyone's team, so we all know the expectations of each employee. That also helps when considering moving to a new position because they can see in detail each role's processes and responsibilities.
Digital Encyclopedia!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the organization of Confluence. I can search for information and learn more about topics that I'm struggling with understanding. Anytime I have a question, I refer to Confluence first. I also enjoy how I can create and content too. Not only is Confluence a resource to learn more about my company's software, it also houses all sort of information for new hires, the team mission and values, and even information about out health beneftis. It's a one stop shop that houses everything I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything that I dislike about this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helps me obtain the knowledge I need to be a successful trainer. When I conducting a training session I use Confluence to help me answer clients' questions on the spot. It's a really great resource. I call it my digital encyclopedia.
All the information in one place
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to reference anything about the company that i need in one place
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were notifications as to when there was an update so I knew when things changed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Clear understand of processes and making sure everyone is on the same page
Great content management partner!
What do you like best about the product?
One place for all docs, blogs, policies, etc.. Increases collaboration, and version control.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited to apps that are built for it; while there is quite a large gallery of apps (add-ins) that you can choose from, that would be the one limitation, that you are limited to that gallery. But, there are vendors that will build custom apps for you if you don't see what you need already built.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has drastically cut down on time spent "re-creating" documents that another team had already created. With being able to share across the organization, teams can just search for what they are needing to create to see if it already exists. It's also cut down on time passing documents back and forth for editing; with being able to edit a page at the same time it dramatically speeds up the process of collaborating on a document/page.
Confluence helps organize your project documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I like the real time collaboration features the best. You can see changes to the pages made by other users in real time and avoid any update conflicts. You also get prompted for whether you want to publish all unpublished changes for everyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Managing the plugins can be a little cumbersome. In addition, the latest security vulnerabilities were disappointing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence makes it easy to document important business processes and allow multiple, simultaneous users to update this documentation. It is also a great platform to document and track projects and outcomes of testing and tasks associated with those projects.
Great tool for shared collaboration work
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to create collaboratively and to comment on others' work while writing documents. The approach of "wiki on steroids" as I like to call it it's great to overcome the "fear of a blank page". You just start writing and continuously improve of what you are doing.
Also, the way it integrates all the pages and information and the way it integrates with Jira and pulls information from it

What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of needed features are only available as paid plugins. Things like team calendar should be available for free out of the box
Also the administration features are cumbersome and confusing. It would be great to have much more granularity on that, especially for big organizations
The worst is the pricing model for the plugins. One needs to pay a licence to everyone using the platform even if the plugin will be used only by two or three persons

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboratively writing documentation and creating a knowledge base
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try before you buy. They have a free tier in cloud version so it's always best that you try it before you sunk it. The pricing model is somewhat expensive and it's important that you are sure this will suit your needs
Confluence makes company collaboration and information sharing easy
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence makes playbooks and instructions easy to follow on one platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes confluence can be challenging to navigate if you don't have the direct link to the guide. Searching for older documents takes a while and can be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By going to the confluence page first before asking company questions, we can see specific instructions step by step.
