It's okay.. search could be better
What do you like best about the product?
Integrates nicely with JIRA and Slack. Can be very helpful if teams organize their knowledge well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Often search is lackluster, organization always varies between teams, and there aren't many quality control measures you can implement company wide.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge base, team bios, org charts, team SOPs all live here. Saves time in seeking information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to encourage best practices around organization of content and give guidelines and templates for certain types of docs to encourage consistency
Best Way to Explain Project Details
What do you like best about the product?
It's really easy to use for creating detailed pages related to the project; it's fast, has many features to edit the page—so many options to import documents as external like excel tables.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asking to login again and again. Sometimes imported tables failing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the problem of the complexity of explaining the project to developers and other internals. Even the person not part of the teams, thanks to confluence pages, they can easily understand how the project process works.
Great place to keep all the documents and retrospectives of your organization
What do you like best about the product?
Single place to have all the software documentations, meeting notes, retrospective, sprint details etc. Many people can edit a single doc at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes editing together a single doc can get tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All the people in the organization can keep their docs at a single place. There is an app as well which makes it even easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use, makes documentations fun and easier to record.
Good for team collaboration!
What do you like best about the product?
It is an amazing tool for documentation. It has a very easy-to-use interface and some great tooling for documenting diagrams/graphs and tables as well. It is easy to integrate with tools like Jira to integrate into your workflows. We use it quite heavily and love how is it is. One of the other features we really like is the ability to track the history of the document and the ability to see who made what changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the features we really miss is the automatic spell and grammar check. It would be really helpful to have it integrated. Although it has few good integrations with other Atlassian tools, it would be really nice to integrate it with a wider range of tools. Also searching ability could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are integrating it with our SDLC and it is very good for documenting the changes. One thing we have to make sure is we utilize it properly to not lose track of it, as it is hard to emphasize teams to make it part of their development process.
Shared Space for Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to easily customize pages, structures, and content to make it easy to find. I love the integration with Jira to create easy to use and fully traceable reporting between the two. In addition, I like the ability to store and collaboratively edit documents with teams so that there is always a single source of truth.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were easier / more ways to get creative. To make a Confluence page visually appealing, it can sometimes take an extra bit of work to figure out. We aim to make our pages welcoming so visitors want to read the content, but finding new and creative ways to do that takes a bit more time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Confluence, we are solving for disparate sources of documents, knowledge articles, and shared drives. We are creating a single source of truth for everything that we do / need and gives us a common place across the workplace. in addition, the level of collaboration across our work has increased since our use of Confluence.
Confluence is a great resource for knowledge base articles
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence allows our teams to create and manage knowledge base articles for future reference. It has great tools that allow us to create well organized content
What do you dislike about the product?
While the tools we have to create articles are useful, it is not as robust as we'd like. Integrating more editing tools would be a huge plus to create well organized content
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has allowed us to organize our knowledge base articles in a way that helps us to easily find what we're looking for. It allows new members to share their knowledge, as well as find help when needed
Best product for documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is the best software for project documentation, you can keep your team updated and host all the project releted documents
What do you dislike about the product?
Integeration of confluence is bit of a dislike, as you can't integrate this software with more applications
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem confluence solved me is project documentation and now my team is updated with the progress and we can fetch the documents from one place
Great for documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create documentation, parent and child pages. Pages can also be linked to Jira tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't auto-save newly created pages. If you forget to publish the draft and close the tab, everything will be lost. Also, you can not make drafts private and everyone can view the published drafts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation of projects, meeting notes, tracking documentations with links to Jira tasks
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You get the best out of it if used along with Jira
A wonderful way to track information, progress and create guides
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use with a HUGE amount of tutorials and tooltips. I could not ask for more
What do you dislike about the product?
A few too many settings are behind a paywall. I would at least like the ability to set privacy levels without paying, but I understand
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a wonderful way to write wikipedia style guides for new software as well as track who is working on what.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One important bit- keep your address handy. I get emails for hello.atlassian that allow me to log in, but they all lead to a link saying my account can't be found. Only by navigating to my precise company or personal Russell.atlassian account can i log in. Not sure at all why the other page exists, and it can be confusing.
Best tool to write a good document
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence provide all the RTE (Rich Text Editor) features. But what I like most is its extra features like table of content, tables, graphs, images, videos, anything we can put into the doc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate to say this but I don't like the resize feature of confluence. I can only resize my document in the pre defined grids of confluence, I can not change out of that grids, I wish confluence look into this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use confluence to document project features, also write blogs that helps team to learn new things.
