One of the best user friendly document solution
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence comes with a Datacenter and cloud version. The best feature is it is customizable as per the user requirement. Using Macros, we can design the documentation as we like. We can keep the data either in a local data center or in the cloud. No one gave me the training to use confluence, and now I am confluence admin, that's the hight of user friendly product
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation. Similar to other Atlassian products, users have complained that aspects of Confluence are difficult to learn right away
An issue that users can face when using Confluence is attempting to edit a document while someone else is editing. Although users can access the document and save it, they cannot see the changes happening in real time that other users are implementing until they refresh their page. Some users have also noted that this can result in loss of edits.
Another drawback of using Confluence is its specific organizational structure. All information is stored within one page or project; although the page can be broken up into sections, some users do not prefer this style. Users can use the ‘page tree’ on each page to organize the different elements of each project.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is a collaboration wiki tool used to help our teams to collaborate and share knowledge efficiently. With confluence, we can capture project requirements, assign tasks to specific users, and manage several calendars at once with the help of the team. There is a great deal of content in most corporate wikis. Understanding which pages you need to complete a process or solve a problem is not always apparent. It often takes several searches and parsing through the results to find what you think is the right content. We have always had issues for centrally managing all wikis and team info along with all required data and collaboration with other automation tools along with we can get the maximum output and confluence having all the required parameters and smooth working while best speed and easy to use approach

Great for storing info
What do you like best about the product?
To say that Confluence is essential to our workflow is an understatement. We use Confluence to store all of our department's information so that we can easily refer back to them. I don't think we could function without the use of Confluence.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to choose something I dislike about Confluence is how it updated the way you edit pages. Since I've been using this for years, I got used to the older way to edit pages. The old editing ways just seemed to make more sense, but maybe it's just my personal preference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helps streamline our workflow because we can easily refer back to important information that's essential to our work. Everything we have questions about or need to look up, it's in our Confluence pages!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're on the fence, go for it! It's so useful in a workplace.

The layout and the organization of Confluence makes it easy to keep track of everything I'm working on with my team and makes it easy to look back on when I need to report on my work.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first it was a little confusing because I wasn't sure what kind of layouts I needed to use and how to nest them. There's just a bit of a learning curve but it's fine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for laying out tests that I'm running on our website. It's great to keep track of everything from the dates that the test ran, to the proposed outcomes, the details, and the priorities. It makes it easy to then send to my teammates.

Pages where architecture designs are added using gliffy diagrams take lot of time to load and also difficult to version out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Best to do project documentation with stakeholders, architecture and product roadmap.
We are also using to store design decisions, Monthly status and risk meetings.

Great for collaboration & documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great wiki to use to organize documents, notes, and collaborate and co-author documents with other colleagues. Useful search funcionality and integrates with other Atlassian products too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the editing can be a little clunky when two people are editing the same page at the same time sometimes. A little bit of a peeve. Would like a more integrated way to import files from google docs, etc. Some of the editing can be a little clunky when two people are editing the same page at the same time sometimes. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the things that was a problem for us before was that our documentation was all over the place—Google Docs, emails, attachments, etc.—all over the map. It was hard to know where to find a specific document sometimes. Now, thanks to Confluence, we have migrated all of our notes, docs, and documentation into a single centralized system, so now we no longer have to question where something was stored, and we can just search for it in a single place. This has saved my team and I countless amounts of time.
Plus, the integration with JIRA is super handy too.

Best collaboration tool for remote work
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is awesome for collaboration cross functionally with all teams. We are all able to have one source of truth that everyone in the company has access too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The page can be a bit confusing to use. Sometimes you can pop in there and it thinks you want to create a new doc.

Collaborating real time with colleagues and it shows all edits made to documents posted so we never have to provide manual updates.
Valuable Collaboration, Documentation, and Information-Sharing Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence provides a variety of ways to produce, visualize, and share information with others within your organization. It allows you to embed visuals, charts, graphics, and even Jira tickets. It has proved to be a versatile tool for producing internal documentation and information-sharing, and it has been used for everything from dev release notes to process documentation. Pages can easily be organized into Spaces, making relevant information easy to find.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the pre-set formatting on Confluence pages can prove to be difficult to overcome and correct, making seemingly simple updates much more time-consuming than they need to be. While these scenarios are only occasional, fixing them can prove to be frustrating and time-consuming. One example of this is editing an existing table. While entering new information is relatively straightforward, changing the format of the cells/structure is not easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has been a one-stop shop for serving up internal notes, documentation, and instructions at our organization. What can be produced is quite extensive and has met a variety of needs within our organization. Screenshots, files, and other data can be embedded seamlessly to produce a high-quality experience for those who are consuming the information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is an extremely versatile tool for internal communication, documentation, and instructionals. It can be used for everything from documenting HR policies to development roadmaps. There is very little that Confluence can't be used to document, and sharing is just as easy and robust. Add in the integrations it has with other Atlassian and third-party products, and Confluence is a must-have tool for any modern organization.
Simple to Use/Easy to Collaborate
What do you like best about the product?
I find Confluence easy to use for collecting my thoughts, documenting research, and providing resources to my team/company. It's easy to add content, but also easy to share links and find what I need with the handy dandy search functionality.
I can easily make a page or space private, limit the audience or open it up to everyone. Easy to manage access.
I love how people who have view-only access can post comments/questions about content without messing up my work.
I can "watch" a Confluence page and be notified when changes are made.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were easier to format my content. I also wish, I could take content from a Word document and paste it into Confluence while keeping the exact same format as the Word document. For example, if my Word document contains bullets, I copy/paste into Confluence, the pasted bulleted formatting is funky and requires clean-up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I store my notes in Confluence, it takes me less clicks to find what I want versus if I store it in Sharepoint or One Drive. For the Microsoft products if I haven't saved the links to my favorites, I have to find the app > the folder > the documents. It's just easier to find what I need in Confluence. And the search function makes it WAY easier.
My company is beginning to use Confluence more and more for policy and how-to docs to help with new hires and for training purposes. We don't have to give special access to folders ... our users have access and can just search and use it.
