Apptega Review
What do you like best about the product?
Apptega has become my preferred GRC platform. I rely on it for managing the BBG Security Program, as well as for overseeing our Risk Management and TPRM programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am still learning how to use the TPRM module.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apptega is assisting me in launching both the IT Risk Management program and the third-party risk management program.

What do you like best about the product?
The Apptega team has been a great help in the New Mexico SLED space. We here at Loial have enjoyed our partnership and look forward to connecting to grow business together.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apptega is providing compliance software services to Loial customers.
Apptega is great for multiple framework assessments
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that the assessments are designed to allow me to collect my notes and respond to the control questions quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to enhance the reporting process by making it easier to transfer the notes entered for each control question directly into a report template. This would allow for a quicker and more efficient way to compile reports using the information already provided.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apptega enables me to perform control assessments within a portal, making it easy to store and save each assessment.
Great software great company
What do you like best about the product?
Our account team is great and the software helps us maintain and organize compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could use some more features and align with NIST Risk Management standards better, but they do accept feature requests.

What do you like best about the product?
The platform's ease of use and streamlined interface made it simple for us to get our GRC program up and running quickly.

I believe it would be beneficial to have a greater number of integrations, as this would help provide an even better customer experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been useful for managing our IT security assessments and has also improved collaboration with our internal teams.
Compliance Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I like how the compliance frameworks within Apptega have structured program management that is relatively plug and play from start to finish.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how sometimes it can be glitchy where I have to reload the page more than once in order for the menu items or features to show up correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apptega helps me with compliance program management and my benefit is that its a one stop shop that is soundly structured.
An excellent GRC Platform for corporates
What do you like best about the product?
The number of available compliance frameworks. Irrespective of the business line you are into, they have wide variety of frameworks included in their platform. Very easy to launch the framework and convert them into program. Their customer support is awesome. It helps us use it every day without any trouble. Since it is cloud based there is no implementation. As soon as you get your credentials, you are good to go. You can also integrate it with your existing cloud platforms to get your compliance visibility immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can be little updated with modern look.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
After started using Apptega now we don't have to search for our answers related to our compliance requirements. The platform offers clear visibility on what we need to know and how can we do it. If there are any doubts, their customer success team helps us in getting the answer immediately.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Apptega is how it brings all of our cybersecurity and compliance work into one place. Instead of juggling spreadsheets and separate tools, our entire program, including frameworks, controls, assessments, and reporting, lives in a single, easy-to-navigate platform. The most helpful part of Apptega is its ability to streamline project tracking and evidence collection. We can easily assign owners, set timelines, upload supporting documents, and monitor progress from one dashboard. This turns what used to be a scattered, manual process into a clear, auditable workflow that keeps everyone aligned and accountable. The dashboards and scoring tools also make it simple to show leadership where we stand and what gaps need attention. The biggest upsides are time savings, better visibility, and improved collaboration. Apptega gives us a living system of record rather than static documents, so updates and evidence stay current. It also simplifies communication with executives, auditors, and clients by turning complex compliance data into clear, visual reports. Ultimately, it helps us mature our security program faster and with less administrative overhead.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Apptega has been a major improvement over manual processes, there are a few areas where it could grow. Some configuration options and workflows can feel rigid at first and require extra time to customize to our exact needs. The reporting and export functions, although useful, could be more flexible and allow for deeper customization to match specific executive or board requirements.
Despite these points, Apptega’s support team is responsive and often incorporates customer feedback into updates, which makes us optimistic about continued improvements.

Apptega has eliminated the need to manage our cybersecurity and compliance program with scattered spreadsheets, emails, and manual trackers. By centralizing frameworks, controls, evidence, and project tracking in one platform, it gives us a single source of truth for our security posture. This solves the challenge of keeping multiple teams aligned, maintaining version control on documentation, and ensuring timely updates to our program. The benefit to us is increased efficiency, clearer visibility for leadership, and improved accountability across the organization. We save significant time during audits, risk assessments, and executive reporting because the data we need is already organized and up to date. This allows our team to focus more on improving security rather than on administrative tasks.
Just right for the SMB and mid-market security and compliance team
What do you like best about the product?
Apptega is "just right" for most mid-market firms GRC needs. Other products tout more bells and whistles but in my experience they never get implemented. Apptega helps security and compliance managers move away from their trusty folder full of spreadsheet alternative to manage the routines that need to get done to maintain risk management, security posture and compliance needs.
We've worked with other platforms. Comparatively, Apptega is the most accessible with users able to stand up their first risk assessment quickly without a lot of pre training required.

What do you dislike about the product?
We wish the risk assessment functionality was tied to a risk assessment framework like NIST 800-30 or ISO and not so directly connected to the compliance frameworks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving from the chaos of spreadsheet based compliance to a model that promotes routine tasks that need to be done to align with most frameworks.

What do you like best about the product?
The openminded hunger for making the product better and better is more than I've seen with other GRC solutions. Apptega has increased capability and potential greatly over the last 4 years that Arrakis Consulting has been working with them. Regular calls with heavy hitters in Apptega to help improve the product and expand capabilities is a true sign of caring about improving and doing better than the day before.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as many integrations as other platforms but it's not really a dislike. The Apptega team is very up front with wanting to improve at every opportunity.
