Bonterra Guided Fundraising is helpful for newbies
What do you like best about the product?
It spells out step by step what to do for fundraising campaigns which makes using & operating campaigns easy to use. Gives prompts to remember where you are at on each step. Allows great donor communication & thank yous via email, text, videos, snail mail options. Customer support is readily available for any questions or help needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
When entering donations the template requires multiple "tabbing" past options we do not use. The page is long so scrolling or tabbing multiple times to get to the bottom of the page takes extra steps. would be nice to be able to customize the page for our organization's specific purposes. On the fundraising page, the options for photos that will work with the template (automatic cropping) is quite annoying. It crops and makes the photo very grainy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Donor management for year end giving statements is fantastic. Also personalized thank you's for each gift.
Easy - Easy to get up and running and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
The conversion staff did a miraculous job of taking our several old donor files and importing all the data. I loved the one-on-one training and guided learning. Help was easy to find and very responsive to my questions. The platform fits very well into our systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have found nothing negative about the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our donor tracking and campaign management was disjointed before we switched to Bonterra. Now everything we need is on one integrated platform.
Bonterra is a great choice for fundraising software
What do you like best about the product?
The CRM/Database software is extremely user-friendly. Great design and great features. The customer support has been excellent as well. For a small to mid-sized nonprofit organization, Bonterra is the best product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Bonterra to add additional stanfard fundraising measurements to the dashboard. We would like to have quick reports that measure the three (3) donor types: Retained, New and Re-activated. ALL donors fall into one of these three categories. Currently I have to to run two filter reports to calculate retained and new donors. The only way that to get the reactivated donor total is by subtracting the new and retained from the total.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bonterra is a complete database that accurately logs and tracks donations. Without this system, our fundraising would suffer. Bonterra also provides a customizable online giving page. Donations and donor information are directly entered into the database. This saves time for gift processing.
Great Support for (Very) Small Nonprofits
What do you like best about the product?
We are a very small nonprofit, but Bonterra/Network for Good gives us the attention and tools we need. Two things stand out: the platform is easy to use, and allows us to communicate easily and effectively. Fundraising plans, templates, and campaign pages are readily available and usable. Secondly, Bonterra/NFG is responsive. Our onboarding process was both general and customized to our situation. The Help Chat folks are excellent: available, friendly, and thorough, answering inquiries and solving problems with professionalism and respect.
What do you dislike about the product?
One concern is that Bonterra/NFG's structure doesn't allow for certain capabilities or adjustments. I specifically refer to changing default settings in the fundraising pages. For example, currently, the 'amount' and 'comments' setting on a donation (campaign) page are automatically checked so that the donor must work to uncheck them, which is often missed. We wanted to reverse that, but it is not possible unless the nonprofit (we) requests that the Donor Scroll be removed from that campaign altogether. We'd prefer it otherwise. We would also like a little more flexibility in the style of the actual donation page, but it is not critical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating easily and effectively with our supporters was an issue before we used Bonterra/NFG. Now we are able to be in touch with our supporters in creative and helpful ways, demonstrated by the open-rate and actual funds coming in as a response.
All your data in one place
What do you like best about the product?
It's helpful to have a dashboard that holds everything I need in one place. The ability to add all the data I need and see it at a quick glance for each donor makes me job easier. I also love the ease of creating emails and text messages to send out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the emails were a little more rounded in what you can do with them like other emailing system platforms, but this one is easy to understand for those who haven't used an emailing program before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network for Good keeps all the information in one place and allows multiple coworkers to access that same information. We are all able to be on the same page and see what someone else has done with a donor.
Everything I need in one place
What do you like best about the product?
I love the e-blast feature! The templates are easy to use and saves me lots of time. Each E-blast looks professional!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the editing features need improvement. You have to hunt around a bit to make changes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great database that keeps my fundraising records in order. I can create reports easily.
My experience
What do you like best about the product?
NFG has a great platform, love the features from individualized campaigns to the dashboard. However, I have been at this for a long time and their support team is as important as the platform features....we love it!
What do you dislike about the product?
Building an email blast from scratch is not so user-friendly. I use Canva a lot because of its ease of use.
look at restructuring it

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So we are growing our donor base and seems like NFG is there to help us grow our base.
They have been just what we needed at key times - they are excellent!
What do you like best about the product?
They are very prompt in gettin back to you with whatever issues you have. The support team has been wonderful and our main contact Carly has been Awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is the cost per transaction when we run a program like a Day of Giving, -we are getting hit quite hard with fees when these programs are run.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At present, they are solving a data entry problem with not having to enter in entire databases by our resources alone. We can import data to the team and within a few weeks have a clean, workable format.
Easy to use
