Bonterra Guided Fundraising was a good choice for us.
What do you like best about the product?
Bonterra GF has made some tasks much easier, and it integrates donation tracking, donor communications, and campaigns, which is something we really needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working with institutional funding and grants is more difficult than working with individual donors, and it takes some tweaking to make it work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bonterra helps us by providing an easily navigable interface for tracking funding.
Bonterra also provides reporting on all of our transactions .
Fundraising campaigns are easily created and managed, which can make it easier to raise funds
Bonterra data makes it easier to reconcile our books, saving time and effort.
Campaign integration also gives us a better ability to track client communications.

What do you like best about the product?
Not only did we need an easy-to-use donor management system, but we needed good tech support, excellent training on how to use the system, and a coach to teach us all we needed to know about fundraising, connecting with donors, and how to maximize our donations. Bonterra delivered all that and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found any downsides to using Bonterra Guided Fundraising unless it is that we would love to have more hours with our fundraising coach. But really, the advice we get is so helpful that we have been able to succeed at our fundraising.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had our donor list on various scraps of paper and would have to hand copy adddresses--Bonterra enables us to organize and automate the whole thing. In addition, we had no idea how to write effective donor letters, fundraising appeals and so on and now we do.
Has helped keep us organized in our fundraising efforts.
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of BGF is its excellent support team. Support team responses are very detailed and the response time is quick. The BGF platform is very user-friendly, making it easy for even our older users who help us pull data or make notes on donor profiles. The simplicity of the platform makes it easy to navigate and find exactly what you are looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside of BGF is the lack of past donor status. For example, we are unable to generate a report or filter out monthly donors who have stopped giving in the last month. Although BFG offers a variety of filters to extract information about donors, it would be great if we were to view trends of giving in terms of donor status. Lastly, it would be great to have a bit more flexibility in how we can label donors as lapsed In many cases, especially for my organization a lapsed donor is someone who has not given in two years due to the nature of our size.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BGF has helps us stay oganized with a central hub for all our donor information. This is especially helpful as we start to focus on maintaining strong donor retention and develop re-engagement strategies.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is in the "cloud" and accessible anywhere rather than being a program installed on one specific computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the updates are not user friendly when I believe that is the goal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned, some updates are not always user friendly. They do listen to complaints and try to come up with a solution.

Bonterra Guided Fundraising is the Awesome Sauce for nonprofits
What do you like best about the product?
What I love about Bonterra is the intuitive software for Donor Management. There are so many tools available from creating correspondence to easily stay in touch with donors to donor data to keep Board Members and Finance Teams up to date with current and year over year data. We also like that almost everything is included in the initial package. They also have a dedicated team to help you move your donor data to their system. Whether it's an excel spreadsheet or another system, their customer team is there to help! They also coach you through how to use the software and are quick to respond to customer questions. There are some fundraising tools not included, but those can be bundled in. It's a great product. We love it and use it daily!
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know that there is a downside. There are plenty of features, overall it's easy to use. There are some features in writing thank you letters or correspondence that I am still not proficient at, but I'm getting there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us to organize our Donor Data in one place. We can now easily pull reports on donors and show financial data from donors more accurately.
Useful for donor management
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity offered for newsletters, templates, and many resources for fundraising. It's very user friendly and didn't take much to transition from previous platforms we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we can also use this platform for outreach we do with our members. It's very limited in the sense that we cant make calls. We want to rely on this platform to communicate regularly with youth to remind them about events we have going on for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
mail newsletters. i'm not sure if its truly meeting our other needs though. i thought we could do more communications with this platform.
User Friendly Donor Management Platform Bonterra is Outstanding!
What do you like best about the product?
The layout of the pages is very intuitive and easy to learn. As a medium sized non-profit, we are able to capture our fundraising data and design outreach documents within the same software. Our data was converted from a prior platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The online customer service chat feature is not very responsive and it makes it difficult to resolve our issues at times. We did have some mistakes in the data transfer that took some time to resolve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We know they are working on additional ways to take donations, i.e. Paypal, Zelle, Apple Pay. We need these other ways to accept funds to serve a diverse population of donors that want to use these payment processes.
This database works well with tracking our donors - current or lapsed.

The customer service support has been very easy to work with and helpful with all my requests/needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the reports are difficult to download.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't have any problems that a customer service representative has not been able to solv.

The software is user friendly, with a lot of information and features that allow for implementation of many development strategies. The tech support chat feature and customer support is quick and helpful.
