Very friendly tool
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing in memsource is that it is user-friendly. Not just that, it's also very easy to use. In addition, the tool is not complicated at alland it is easy to explain to others.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes or with some clients, I can't download the TMs, i have to use it online only, as sometimes i would like to save it for working on future projects
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working on memsource, saves a lot of time as it always works without freezing or getting errors. The tool is easy to be explained to the team and to access it online from any computer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To use memsource always as its a user-friendly tool and very easy to use and get the work done.
Efficient way to manage i18n on your apps
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to connect it to sync with your Git repository.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation could be structured better, to make it easier to get quickly up and running.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a single source of truth for i18n string variables, Quick turn around time using the auto-translate feature, Ease in management of multiple language files.
No-nonsense, reliable high-performance cloud-based experience
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is an excellent entry-point CAT tool for students approaching translation technology for the first time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Project management features could be easier to follow and more automated (e.g. adding members).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Memsource to introduce my students to CAT tools via a user-friendly and intuitive program, which helps them learn and consolidate key concepts/steps in the translation workflow.
I've used Phrase for 3 months everyday at work, here's my review
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to create separate projects, upload documents, create glossaries, and communicate to users and translators in each string while keeping history registered.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish content in different projects could be integrated when we need to look up specific words and expressions, for example, to consult terms for consistency or change terms. I would also appreciate it if there were more functions when creating job assignments to distribute between our translators. It's hard for strings to be in the correct order depending on your specific needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I create new content on a regular basis for an app and websites. I have a specific area of the app that has a constant flow of new content while keeping old content and I like how the glossary works and the possibilities for keeping consistency across old and new content.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it's a very helpful translation tool when it comes to apps.
Comprehensive and flexible
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource is easy to learn for translators, very intuitive. At the same time, it does not lack any substantial functionality of a modern CAT tool. It is very accessible, being an online platform. It is easy to manage and use for LSP / Project manager, too. TMs and content can be well protected, as linguists can be disallowed to download anything. Splitting of bigger files works very well and has very good options, in my opinion. Import of excel files with source and target in TM or TB is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dynamic learning for machine translation engines not available.
Alignment function. It is just a manual work in Excel file.
PDF file processing possible only with additional 3rd party subscription.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onboarding new translators is easy with Memsource.
Also, we have Memsource integrated with our TMS, allowing to maintain and use translation memories very consistently and creating projects in an automated way much faster than manually.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very good tool for a translation company.
Good support, easy & Flexible tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy interface for linguists. Processes easy to manage for PM's. Terms & TM's easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
That the TM's get updated automatically after the first round of work of the translator (at least that's the default setting). This should be set differently. as normally we do a 2 step process and the TM's should only be updated after the final review.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Of course facilitating our translation projects is the most important thing. Resolving QA issues, keeping track of projects. Overall it's a versatile and quite good CAT tool (although Trados Studio has been our first choice up to now).
Memsource strikes the balance between being a CAT and a project management tool

The easiest tool for translators
What do you like best about the product?
I love how we can easily manage translations into multiple languages, and it's very easy to use for translators. With Phrase, we can create and keep track of different projects, like your website, apps, etc. It also allows you to check how that copy has been translated into other languages. For instance, in my case, I was translating from EN to PTBR, so sometimes I checked what was the ES translation for that sentence, just to be sure my translation was suitable for the context. Another great feature is that, if by any chance you spot a string that has some problem, like a typo, you can easily go on Prhase, edit the string, and ask someone from your tech team to deploy it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have anything to point out. So far, I've had a great experience using Phrase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I could quickly translate our website and other applications from English to Portuguese. While I was working on the Portuguese version, my colleagues from other nationalities were working on the ES and IT versions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are from the website team, try to upload screenshots of the section that should be translated, as it makes it easy for translators to understand the context. Sometimes, especially while translating software, it can get tricky when you don't know the context. This is another tool that Phrase has, which I really appreciate.
