Useful webinar for basic Memsource features
What do you like best about the product?
The webinar was quite helpful to refresh some basic features of Memsource. I would recommend it for people who are starting with this CAT tool. I found some interesting features roughly mentioned, and I am looking forward to a more advanced webinar.
What do you dislike about the product?
At some point, the speaker was a bit monotonous, but in general, everything was as expected for this kind of webinar. Maybe some more interaction with participants could be an option to improve future workshops.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memsource is very helpful for our company projects. It helps us keep our glossaries and termbases updated and the team working in synchrony. We have made considerable improvements in terms of quality since we started working with Memsource.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when there is a placeholder in the string in English, we don't need it in other languages, and we have to include it even though it sounds strange.
To many notifications and emails.
Hard to see the full screen contact all together- when we need to translate a full screen, the content is divided into different strings, and we can't see the flow of the page and how the user will see it inside the app.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Phrase to translate the content from English to a lot of languages, super easy to track what we have done already.
Memsource is a free program that is easy to learn and user-friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Memsource is its availability. Even less-advantaged universities and low/no-income students can benefit from the program. It is easy to learn as the steps you need to take are intuitive. The alignment option, as well as the TB/TM building, make translation much speedier and more effective. I also appreciate the possiblty to continue with Memsource using personal accounts even after students finish my course.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since I've been teaching the Translators' Tools course, I signed up my students as project managers. On the one hand, it enabled them to learn how to create and manage their projects, but on the other, they could monitor other students' work. Would there be any possibility of limiting access to just individual students' projects, allowing them to be project managers simultaneously? Secondly, it would be helpful to train TB to recognize more extensive parts of lexical items even if their ending differs from the object inserted in TB? I try to insert just word roots to make them more recognizable, but it would be helpful to have another option at hand,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am training my students to use modern translator tools. Other programs are too costly, and Memsource is the only one I can use with my students year after year without limiting myself to a trial period or trial version.
An excellent solution for many translation, project management and teaching scenarios
What do you like best about the product?
Memsource has a very clear interface while at the same time it allows you to carry out complex projects and customize many of the different resources and actions you can perform with it. Memsource is always improving its features and their support people do listen to you.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some actions or features may take longer due to Memsource's cloud orientation. However, that problem can be solved if the desktop application (for Windows, Mac or Linux) is used for the translation and revision work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The learning curve is not very steep. Thanks to the many years of experience with cloud and project-based CAT solutions, there are many things that can be customized to allow for different project types, workflows, and teaching and learning styles!
Collaboration booster
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to experience the role of manager and of linguist is one of the features my students (and I) like the most. Memsource is very easy to use and manage and allows students to understand the workflow better - they are assigned roles as linguists, reviewers and managers (in separate turns) and are able to have first-hand experience as translators.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about Memsource.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted my student to have a better grasp of the workflow of a translation project and be able to use a cloud-based, user-friendly translation tool.
A solid solution for both agencies and freelancers
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, intuitive, a good solution for both agencies and freelancers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Improvable editor for offline project management (QA, interface, bugs).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps with my business, as my clients use it as their localization solution.
I like Memsource and it has nice features, but having used MemoQ before it falls a bit short
What do you like best about the product?
More than one translator can work online, intuitive design.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to transform tags, selecting more than one line at the same time...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it professionally and it has helped the team to save time and be more accurate.
A great CAT tool for collaboration. The basics can be learned quickly.
What do you like best about the product?
A fully online tool such as Memsource is great for collaboration among our students. Simple interface, everything is easy to find. The basics can be taught and learned relatively quickly. We are delighted to have Academic licenses for educational purposes. The offline editor extends the usefulness of the online one.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful to be flexible with the number of users assigned as project managers every year, so that we can extend the teaching of Memsource to more of our courses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Academic edition of Memsource continues to be an excellent addition to our MA Professional Translation and MA Translation and Interpreting at Swansea University. Our students have been able to use Memsource to learn about working collaboratively in multilingual translation projects and in simulated translation bureau projects.
