Own backup and testing Salesforce
What do you like best about the product?
The seeding feature is most useful and most used feature that is used in our dev process. We use the seedinf feature almost daily to populate or dev orgs with data, significantly improving the working and testing environments for our devs. With Salesforces copy org feature, it is really easy to deploy new sandboxes with data.
Owns customer support is always quick to respond, follow-up and care about our questions and issues.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some custom or managed package apps cannot be accessed in the seeding feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data seeding of Sandboxes has been a huge benefit and has solved having to create data manually for testing and development. The backup feature provides peace of mind, knowing that if anything happens in Production, Own will have our backs...back-ups.

OneSource Virtual utilization of Own project suite
What do you like best about the product?
We love all the products we use (backup, archive, replicate, most recently Secure, and seeding/anonymization). Each niche application provides their own specialized function to our business operation and continuity plan. We've most recently been heavily engaged in Secure to optimize our org (data classification, security risks, profiles & permission sets review, etc.). Without it, each project would be immensely more time consuming/research oriented.
Customer support has always been top tier (contract level) with immediate and quick responses. With our TAM utilization, we've been able to really engage and further enhance our use of the project suite. We're looking forward to further engagement to optimize our org w/ all the applications provided.

What do you dislike about the product?
We were peripheral users of the project suite for a long time (premier support with no TAM). We only reached out when there was a problem, but never engaged w/ the company to further enhance our abilities/relationship. This past year (2024) was eye-opening and has been a game-changer heading into 2025 (various projects on our company roadmap that can be accomplished w/ Own). I think the initial interactions were minimal which left gaps on our side that we had to look around for options to address. I think having yearly reviews of current contracts and suggestions for improvements (TAM involvement), would have saved a bunch of time (scouring SF wondering what everyone else was doing, instead of going to the source who had these answers/suggestions).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Own Secure has been doing wonders for our org in regards to Data Classification & permission sets/profiles security. As we look to further "secure" our org, it's important to know what fields are sensitive, etc. and who sees what. With the Salesforce initiative to sunset profiles, Secure has been a huge help in identifying existing permissions while we work w/ our TAM to further improve our permission classifications.
Archive has also been a huge help in cleaning up our org by removing potentially sensitive data from our SF instance, while still being able to report on it via the archive widget on the account.
We're in the process of using seeding to further automate our refresh processes, but still need to work with our TAM to create the perfect template for each sandbox

Own works great for backup and restore!
What do you like best about the product?
The product is easy to use, the UI is great, and makes complex tasks like sandbox seeding and data anonymization as simple as it can be.
What do you dislike about the product?
Targeting and disabling automations for data restore could be improved. This is surprisingly a manual process when restoring data. They offer limited automatic disabling of automations in seeding and anonymization, but not with restore.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have requirements to backup our Salesforce data, and to anonymize the production data in our sandboxes. Own helps solve both of these issues in one complete package.

What do you like best about the product?
This application has saved me a several times when a user or a admin has by mistake cause an issue that has bigger impacts on the system. Own came in handy to restore and recover data and meta data on various occasions. It's really handy for GDPR and to find specific Items from historic backups.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wished it had more platforms and applications that it could back up and support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Back when own was not owned by Salesforce it supported Me in terms of backing up the companies data and meta data without using salesforces native tool which lacked feature features such as automated daily backups
Own is a very user-friendly platform with all the necessary resources
What do you like best about the product?
The Own platform is very easy to use, almost all the functionalities are very intuitive and user friendly. It is a platform that brings us confidence and peace of mind as we know that all our data and metadata is backed up on a daily basis, always following best practices and respecting important factors such as GDPR, retention and API Consumption.
Connecting or archiving an Org is very simple to perform, the platform also has extra features that help you recognize missing permissions and alerts for abnormal behavior on the platform.
A positive point is the fact that you can search for records, compare them considering the backup history and restore them as needed, even considering related records, which is usually a challenge in other platforms.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much flexibility in where the data is stored, such as different cloud solutions or even in the customer's own cloud. The platform pricing is a bit difficult to understand as it depends on the storage and the number of users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Own solves the data and metadata backup problem for our Salesforce organizations. Salesforce does not have a friendly and complete backup solution and I think that ends up creating a big problem such as data corruption, data and metadata loss and time related information comparison.
Backup is a functionality that should be considered a must in a Salesforce implementation, and Own does that job easily, always following best practices.

Great tool for leveraging backups and archiving
What do you like best about the product?
Own offers ease to use experience in comparison to another tools without compromising detailed information about what is happening in the jobs.
The smart alerts and archiving capabilities are a plus.
Customer support offers fast response when we needed and we had support all the way rhtough the implementation.

Still needs localized support. The documentation seems to be avaiable in two different websites leading to confusion.

We're using Own to comply to legal requirements on backups and data retention.

What do you dislike about the product?
Definitely there are no downsides, but always an opportunity to improve/innovate

Peace of Mind
What do you like best about the product?
Own provides us with peace of mind - we know our salesforce org is backed up daily. When we do need to replace data - which has largely been due to cleanup that was a bit more far reaching than intended - the restore process is very intuitive. Our new team members don't require extensive training sessions to become proficient with the product. We have always received the very best customer support from Own on technical questions, and our account team balances keeping us up-to-date with their newest products while respecting any budgeting or timing limitations on our part.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have not had a negative experience with the product or company staff, and have been a customer for almost five years. We are very satified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Own backs up our salesforce landscape - it is reliable, which allows us to focus efforts on delivering enhancements for our end users. The Backup solution, once implemented, provides security/insurance with virtually no ongoing maintenance efforts on our part.
Ecstatic About Own!
What do you like best about the product?
Before Own's backup solution I was pulling files manually, it was a time consuming nightmare! I looked at over 25 other providers and all quickly fell short on functionality, security and audits. I am happy that we chose Own and haven't regretted it ever.
Setting up the backup is VERY easy and monitoring is a breeze. When refreshing our UAT sandbox it takes no more than 5 minutes to reconnect and move on.

What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to hear back from support. I have opened cases and not heard back.

We use Own to backup our Salesforce system. It used to take hours a week to pull manual files and now we backup daily and it is automated!
