It's been a life saver
What do you like best about the product?
Daily backups are awesome and backs up everything
What do you dislike about the product?
The error messages sometimes don't tell you why it erred
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We back up our entire Salesforce Org with OwnBackup. Last year we had an issue that merged over 200000 records we were instantly able to restore the org to it's the previous state because of the backups we had with OwnBackup with minimal downtime with users.

What to make Legal and Security your best friends? Buy OwnBackUp!
What do you like best about the product?
When we purchased OwnBackUp it was to do just what the name says... back up our data. However, when we got into it we realized it did so much more. We currently utilize them for backing up our data, sandbox seeding (with anonymous data) and GDPR compliance.
When we were implementing GDPR our Legal and Marketing team was struggling with how to 'forget' people when requested. With OwnBackUp it's as simple as deleting them from PROD and then walking through the step by step process to remove them from all back ups!

What do you dislike about the product?
I'm at a loss for words on what I dislike...
The interface can be a tad clunky at times and isn't as user friendly as I would expect. However, once you start using it it's not a problem. Customer Success is always willing to assist if needed, but their online knowledge center is quite robust and offers step by step guides on how to do everything.

GDPR Compliance - With OwnBackUp we are able to 'forget people when they request to have their information removed from our systems. It's as easy as 1-2-3 with their point and click process.
Sandbox Seeding with Anonymous Data - With Sandbox Seeding we are able to seed our sandboxes with data from PROD, but also we are able to select what data comes over and if it's anonymized or not. This has made Security/Legal very happy with us!
Data Back Up for 99 Years. WHAT? - Our data is backed up ever 15 minutes with OwnBackUp and we don't have to worry about losing our data if anything happened. When NA59 when down for 4 days last year it was a life saver that we had OwnBackUp because we could run queries and continue to do our jobs without Salesforce. Granted it was difficult to continue work out a spreadsheet, but at least we had our data.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I know the cost can feel expensive, but trust me this tool is worth it. We use it weekly when refreshing our sandboxes and completing GDPR request. I personally feel like the data backup is a process that just happens in the background and I don't even have to think about it!
Seamless and feature rich backup solution for Salesforce
What do you like best about the product?
OwnBackup does a great job at backup up the salesforce Instance and it does that very seamlessly. It has got a lot of configurable features and comes handy with encryption services
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like more role based security as a standard feature set for OwnBackup to allow more granular control of which users can do what things .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Main problem we try to solve is DR and ensuring Business continuity in times of when people accidentally delete data/records. This has been a lifesaver for us specially when rouge jobs have deleted records and users have mass deleted records accidentally in the sytem
This is the application I never want to live without
What do you like best about the product?
I think the thing that I really like best are the alert capabilities. You can set thresholds and email alerts to tell you when there is an anomaly in your data (ie, more than 20% of the profiles have been changed or opportunities have been deleted, etc) to allow us to proactively deal with errors in data integration jobs, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't really anything that we dislike about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using OwnBackup to backup the data and metadata for our Salesforce orgs and sandboxes and it has been an amazing time saver for us. We had been doing the weekly data extracts from Salesforce which was time consuming and still didn't really give us a good failure plan in the event there was a catastrophic data loss of some sort. We have also used it as a change control mechanism to roll back errant changes made to the assignment rules, etc. We have used it to seed sandboxes with data and to get real insights into the changes being made to our data.
Works Great to Reduce Risk
What do you like best about the product?
This product significantly reduces our risk of data loss.
What do you dislike about the product?
Works when it needs to, but don't use it beyond its backup capacity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization wanted to be sure we had our Salesforce data backed up in a secure manner which allowed us to more easily comply with GDPR and upcoming state based data privacy legislation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have upcoming changes to be made to you Salesforce environment this is a great tool to document what changes where made.
Great backup solution
What do you like best about the product?
I like reliability and how easy it is to work with
What do you dislike about the product?
Speed of work. Browsing through the backups is little pain
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to restore records from far past
Best Salesforce Backup tool in the industry
What do you like best about the product?
Integrity checks and real-time backup and restore.Anonymization features
What do you dislike about the product?
limited notification features and ability to review classified data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backup and restore and Anonymization features
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With Salesforce deprecating their Backup services, Own Backup is ultimately the only tool that will get you out of jail.
really good tool but would like more features for sales force
What do you like best about the product?
how easy it is to replicate data in salesforce and scheduled backups, UX, in general, is really easy going and self-explanatory. emails are really explanatory.
What do you dislike about the product?
how hard it is to replicate metadata from salesforce, the replication process is not that clear to me like when to use a full organization or full with deleted. after replication, at first, it was not clear to me that I can see errors without downloading the zipץ
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
replicating data from one sandbox to another sandbox , holding backups of important salesforce sandboxes data
Recommendations to others considering the product:
great product at the list in salesforce point of view, easy to use very self-explanatory. fast on time to market.
Cloud-Based Peace of Mind for Salesforce Backups
What do you like best about the product?
I set up the initial connections to both our Production Data and Metadata, and the daily backups have been seamless since. I love the weekly backup report that I receive, as I can easily scan it to see if anything is out of order. I also adore the smart alerts that I have configured to notify me if a certain percentage of Salesforce data gets altered or deleted unexpectedly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to my previous backup system for our Salesforce data, there is nothing to dislike about OwnBackup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All essential Salesforce data is safe and secure off-site, and it will be a breeze to restore if we ever encounter that unfortunate situation. Furthermore, our backups are now more frequent than before due to unlimited storage, and the backups no longer eat up storage space on our local drives. Finally, I now save considerable time in my week by not needing to execute a manual backup process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend a trial/evaluation period before you make any purchase decisions, as the annual subscription cost can be substantial for smaller organisations.
