Structured intake has improved legal reviews and audits but complex rule setup still needs work

    Reviewed on Jul 14, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) is contract management, negotiation, and the repository side.

A specific example of how I used Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) for contract management or negotiation involves my previous role responsibilities where I reviewed NDAs. We created a workflow where the contract request was submitted into Agiloft, an intake form was completed, and it would flow through to legal for legal review, where I would handle drafting, either populating a template or reviewing third-party paper and sending it back to the requester so that they could reach out to the counterparty. After the negotiation and review took place, I used Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) to store the signature copy.

    What is most valuable?

Some of the best features Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) offers are the intake where we could create a form based on the contract type that allowed the requester to fill out the details of the specific request, which was very helpful for our legal review, although I did not get to use any of their AI tools.

Having tailored intake forms positively impacted the speed and accuracy of my legal review process by often preventing rejections where we had to go back to the business to find out more information before we could even perform the legal review. It was very helpful in capturing all of the necessary information upfront so that legal could make a determination and perform the review.

When we launched Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM), it was a much-needed contract management system in my past role. We did not have anything prior, so it definitely was a tool solving a big problem for us in terms of contract intake, negotiation, management, as well as a centralized repository. We used Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) as our source of truth for audit purposes, which had a huge impact on us and in being compliant.

The audit response times definitely saw some significant improvement, as we were able to grant access to some of our auditors to access the system to search for the documents directly. We knew that we had built a really good repository with all of the metadata available in the fields that we had set up, so we did a lot of the pre-work upfront, which definitely caused a huge payoff in the end.

    What needs improvement?

Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) is very difficult to set rules and to follow based on contract type, as the mapping and the level of tech and coding that is needed for that requires developer skills. Going through that training is quite cumbersome and lengthy, especially for legal departments that are more focused on contract negotiation and lack some of those skills.

I would rate Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) a seven on a scale of one to ten.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for over twenty years.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Regarding Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM)'s AI capabilities, I found its accuracy and reliability of output only moderately acceptable. I only got to test some of that when we were doing an RFP for a new system, and it fell in the middle from what I remember compared to some of the other CLMs at the time, just based on actual contract generation in terms of templates and use of AI for chats and summary responses, as well as surgical redlining.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) is to ensure during the RFP stages that you factor in the updates and make sure that you are eligible for those and it is included in your package so that you can take full advantage of the software and its new capabilities, especially based on the roadmap. When I stopped using the system in September 2025, there were no AI enhancements, and some of the other CLMs that are on the market definitely have had upgrades, which we had to pay for. Unfortunately, the updates did not come through with our current licensing that we had. Without the use of AI, I felt that the system put us behind in terms of other enterprises that were using a contract management system. I rate this product a seven overall.

Reduced contract review time and have centralized approvals with better visibility

    Reviewed on Jun 26, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) is that it helps streamline contract management. I appreciate the comprehensive view that Agiloft CLM provides, enabling me to see all contracts at their various stages at a glance through its charts. These features help me tremendously in taking necessary actions promptly. Additionally, Agiloft CLM's ability to track how long each contract has been pending for external review is invaluable. It notes the number of days each contract remains under review, aiding in efficiently managing contracts that are either still under review or have not been signed by both internal and external parties.

How has it helped my organization?

Agiloft CLM has positively impacted my organization by enabling us to generate and review a contract in ten minutes, which previously took about an hour. This allows us to cut down time significantly. We are also able to perform searches and reports that we were not able to do before. It has helped eliminate the need for a second paralegal to review the first paralegal draft, thus saving considerable time. This tool has eliminated the administrative steps for the distribution of executed contracts to other departments.

The time savings and reduction in administrative steps with Agiloft CLM have allowed us to reallocate that time to other strategic tasks and projects. Productivity has greatly improved in my organization.

    What is most valuable?

I appreciate that Agiloft CLM provides visibility into contract stages, aids in tracking pending reviews, and highlights contracts awaiting signatures. The best features that Agiloft CLM offers are that it gathers and stores data very well while being more secure and easy to access for my team members. This helps especially in collaboration between departmental team members. Reports are easy to create and run. Agiloft CLM integrates with other products well and automates emails to other departments with relevant information as status changes.

The integration aspect with Agiloft CLM includes DocuSign for electronic signatures, which makes our electronic signature process very seamless. The user interface of Agiloft CLM is intuitive, easy to customize, and navigate for new users.

    What needs improvement?

One minor drawback that I can highlight with Agiloft CLM is that once an agreement reaches the start date, it often fails to move the agreement to active status.

In terms of needed improvements for Agiloft CLM, we store amendments to our employment agreements, and Agiloft CLM does not data stack the changes into one record for easy review.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Agiloft CLM for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

According to my experience using Agiloft CLM over the past few years, it has been very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Agiloft CLM has kept up with my organization's growth and changing needs effectively.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Agiloft CLM is relatively easy to reach, very solution-oriented, responsive to our queries, and very helpful.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Ironclad and SPS Commerce Fulfillment.

I switched from Ironclad and SPS Commerce Fulfillment to Agiloft CLM because Agiloft CLM is a better-known product that I trusted over the newer alternatives. I also researched its record in updating software to fit the newest needs of consumers. Recently, the user interface update went quite successfully, and I feel it is a great benefit when software that many important people in the company view appears modern and polished. Agiloft CLM fit all our needs, and there was no reason for us to decline it.

    How was the initial setup?

My experience with the configuration process for Agiloft CLM is that we did not encounter any challenges. The process was very smooth.

Deploying Agiloft CLM in my environment integrates very effectively.

    What about the implementation team?

Agiloft CLM integrates with other AWS services I use very seamlessly.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Agiloft CLM, as it became easier to maintain contracts and not forget deadlines for renewal. In the IT department, we have not had any automatic contract renewals on worse terms. Onboarding employees to show how contracts work becomes much easier. Creating invoices in ERP became much easier.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with Agiloft CLM regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the cost has always been very competitive, especially compared to other alternatives.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Agiloft CLM, I evaluated other options such as Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics 365.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using Agiloft CLM is that it is very useful, especially for contracts. Agiloft CLM is very useful for contract management, as it is designed to be. I appreciate the new interface very much as it appears much more modern now and is easy to manage documents that are not contracts.

As our company grows, the number of contracts grows almost exponentially. Agiloft CLM allows us to handle them easily without having to reorganize old contracts, saving considerable time. The implementation was relatively easy, and I have not had any issues with their support. I would rate this product five out of five stars.

What do you like best about the product?
Agiloft's configurability with best-of-class tools is a core strength. The out-of-the-box integrations provide a great place to start, from SSO to translation APIs, to authoring tools, emailing, e-signing, and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the Agiloft community is a work in progress to leverage peer help and best practice sharing, central Agiloft support for bugs and feature dev remains objectively slow, often taking weeks to months to even get a Tier 2 escalation or dev to look at it, much less add it to the road-map or maintenance queue. In an atypical distributed, go-to-market, use case like ours, promptly responsive support and fast escalation is critical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Agiloft advances common through-lines of CLM best practices across industries, so that we may learn and refine the commonalities among them. With its incorporation of AI (e.g. Astra) to apply to use cases involving red-lining, clause library guidance, duplication / contradiction detection, and playbook screening, the emphasis is on AI guidance, not AI authoring. And that's an important distinction amid AI hype. It remains a supplement, not a replacement, for good contracting.

Agiloft Astra Makes Contract Reviews Faster with One-Click AI Redlining

    Reviewed on Jun 09, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I am only using Agiloft's Astra tool. The tool is very useful in implementing a playbook and using that to create efficient contract reviews. The boost functions add a variety of individualized review tools, and the one-click redline tool is the most useful AI-driven functionality for reviewing and redlining.
What do you dislike about the product?
There could be more documentation or guides around implementation and use. There are videos in Astra that help you understand the basics, but they only cover the basics despite there being a learning curve to learn the system and its functionalities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Astra provides an avenue to create playbooks that apply your standards and to use those in contract reviews through an AI-driven reviewing tool. This allows standard playbook designs and aligned work products among all users. The tool has also been updated to provide larger functionalities like bulk contract reviews and analysis.

Agiloft: Highly Customizable Contract Lifecycle Management That Scales

What do you like best about the product?
Agiloft is a great tool for managing the entire contract lifecycle process. It’s highly customizable, so you can use as many or as few features as you need, depending on your workflow. As your needs evolve, it can scale and grow right along with you.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest dislike is that I can’t handle customization on my own. Instead, I have to bring in a partner to do it for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve used Agiloft for years to store contracts and run a few basic reports. As our business has grown, we’ve needed to add workflows and more robust reporting, and Agiloft has made that transition easy. Overall, it’s been straightforward to build on what we already had in place and expand our use of the platform as our needs evolved.

Powerful and Flexible Platform, but there are Hurdles to overcome

    Reviewed on Jan 13, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is very powerful & flexible offering the ability to define the exact functionality you need
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been issues with regards to Agiloft's attitude towards Customer Service, including its approaches to managing implementation & licensing. While the platform is powerful this comes at a cost in terms of how easy the platform is to maintain. For a small, specialised, non-technical Team this has meant a steep learning curve in reaching some level of self-sufficiency in the day-to-day use of the system. The need for specialised support should be identified, planned & costed-in from the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using the Agiloft Platform has allowed us to revolutionise what were very laborious, manual processes by bringing in workflow, and the semi-automation of Contract Drafting using Templates. It is also offering us a path for continuous improvement/development/investment which will enable us to embrace future technologies such as AI.
