One stop shop for ETL
What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to get data from various sources easily and standardize them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some API endpoints are not fully built out. so we need to request that the endpoint be added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
efficient in pulling the data we need from sources.
Has a great SysTrack load feature, but the real-time data needs improvement
What is most valuable?
What needs improvement?
This solution needs to improve its real-time data and transformation availability. You have to extract a load before you can do any transformation.
Another improvement that can be made is with load extraction. This functionality should be implemented with obligating data and data masking.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Fivetran for a couple of months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is an eight out of ten.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I rate the pricing a six out of ten.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.
Plug and play solution that is budget friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Creating custom ETLs with staging and error handling for multiple sources of data requires a team of engineers (or one engineer and several months). Fivetran allowed me to spin up pipelines immediately for both simple and complex sources (e.g. Facebook). It is significantly cheaper to maintain these pipelines than hiring more full time engineers! Implementing Fivetran was fast, easy and exceptionally cost effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fivetran worked well for all of our data sources except Google Analytics. This is likely not an issue for most users but because we have a tremendous amount of data from this source, Fivetran's plug and play delta loads just weren't the right solution. Aside from that one source, Fivetran has met all of our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran allows us to ingest data from multiple external sources without having to build custom code, monitor loads and manage errors. In fact, it is a completely no-code solution that requires minimal set up, even for complex data sources.
Easy ETL!
What do you like best about the product?
It's super simple to setup and monitor data pipelines, there is alerting that informs us of any issues and any major outtage is looked into and resolved quickly by their engineering team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't any downsides. A bonus would be to improve orchestration capabilites to be in line with Airflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data engineering without an engineer!
A great mid-point tool for the less technical
What do you like best about the product?
We use Census to enable data to pass through from our main data warehouse (from the frontend) to our internal systems - most notably Salesforce. Once a query is in place, setting up the model and a sync is very very easy - I particularly love the ease with which Census enables mapping of certain data fields to Salesforce fields. Syncs are reliable and we are always kept up to date if there are any issues via email notifications.
I will also say that I hugely appreciate Census's decision to enable product support via a bespoke Slack channel - it makes dealing with any issues that do arise, or questions that we do have, much more productive and pleasant as everything is centralised and can be seen by everyone. It also means that we don't need to depart our usual company comms procedure - something which is very welcome in this age of live chat, email support, callbacks, on demand Zoom calls etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue I've come across with Census is that the default setting for all models in an instance is for it not to record the sync logs anywhere. This has to be requested and set up separately (Warehouse Writeback) - which can be an issue if not known in advance and the sync logs are suddenly required. Otherwise, everything is great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making syncing data from an enormous BigQuery warehouse into our internal CRM systems a breeze via intelligent mapping and customisable syncs.
Census for reverse ETL
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, almost no training required
What do you dislike about the product?
Error logging could be better, sometimes the key idntidy could be confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
census does the job when we try to load data to crms
Effortless ETL and Transforming Data Integration
What do you like best about the product?
As we talk about implementation, it is easy to use. Provide fast data migration. It has wide range of connectors which helps in connecting and integrating data from different sources. Provides real time sync with data.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the concern is pricing structure especially when the user deals with large volume of data. There might be security concerns as storing sensitive data into the cloud. It doesn't provide complex data transformations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is user friendly, users can use it having technical or non technical knowledge.
Real time data sync up ensuring the data is synchronised and centralised warehouse is upto date.
It provides tools for managing and monitoring data integration which helps in optimising and track performance for better efficiency.

Easy UI, Effective Solution
What do you like best about the product?
It's variety of compatibilities and it's commitment to keep adding to the list
What do you dislike about the product?
Support is responsive, but a little slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran is quickly and efficiently pulling data from almost all of our source systems and making it easy for us to transform it in our data warehouse.
A solid rETL platform that I have relied on for data piping into 3rd party platforms
What do you like best about the product?
- UI and ease of use is topnotch
- Support, at least in our case, has been fantastic, lovely bunch of people to work with
- Rapid product iteration in response to issues and emerging use cases. Thank you!

What do you dislike about the product?
- I guess due to the balancing act of 80/20 (20 percent of features cover 80 of customer use cases), when it works it works however if you fall outside of the beaten path it can get flaky.
- Some new areas such as segment builder is still in its infancy

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting data out of dwh and into 3rd party platforms
Transformative for ops and marketing
What do you like best about the product?
I've worked at two companies that use Census. Census was a game-changer at both. I can't overstate how transformative it is to be able to pass information from a data warehouse into a CRM or other tool using only SQL, without needing to go through an engineering department. Census accomplished in days what might have taken weeks or months to build into a product roadmap.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints! I haven't used Census directly for a few months, so they've probably added features for anything I might have found frustrating by now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Let's say your marketing tools don't know who is and isn't a customer. (This is a problem I've run into at multiple organizations I've worked with, from freelancing to full-time jobs; in some cases, answering the question "which of these email addresses is a customer?" required manual CSV exports!) You have a separate reporting tool that does know who is and isn't a customer. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could use the report query to push all the data you need directly to your CRM? Census does that. The interface is bare-bones in the best sense of the word: no useless features, transparent explanations of load times and syncs, simple setup.
