great product
What do you like best about the product?
easy to use. nice integration. straight forward UI design
What do you dislike about the product?
not sure. it works for fine me and my team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
pushing and syncing data from our data warehouse to different applications
Easy to maintain data synchronization
What do you like best about the product?
Setting up a new sync was really easy. I like the fact that so many services are available and that most fields are matched automatically. Census is especially strong at keeping data in sync between different systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some connections are quite slow to update. This might be caused by the rate limits of the services we use, rather than Census, but it sometimes leads to runtimes of more than a day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining reliable customer data across multiple systems. This enable our customer-facing departments to more quickly and reliably set up customer-oriented communication flows.
A great service that helps us do some heavy lifting around data sync'ing
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran sync's several 3rd party services for us, meaning we didn't have to write custom code.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be complicated to align and predict the Consumption-Based Pricing and monthly active rows, especially for growing data sets or rapidly changing data sets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting 3rd party data sources to our data lake. This gives my engineering teams time back and reduces low value areas we need to maintain.
Very practical and easy tool to work with
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is clear and makes it easy to configure and schedule jobs that need to be run. Amazing support team to work with to get your questions answered. They have great documentation as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were a few issues we knew would happen ahead of purchasing Census. However, the census support team has been very helpful. It is not easy in Census to convert looker looks to an actual census job.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census is allowing us to pipe information from other sources into Salesforce. This has allowed us as a business to make SFDC more reliable and be one place to gather information you need.
The data ingestion that you neeed
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easily we can set up a destination and connection in Fivetran. Fivetran also supports various connection types that we can use. Moreover, their support team is helpful and responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing that I dislike is the price that we need to pay. The price is relatively high. Another thing that can be improved as well for my current use case is by improving the data type support in PostgreSQL database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem that Fivetran is solving is the complexity and the time required to build our own data ingestion pipelines. Especially when the source was varies. Fivetran solves those issues and make it easy to do data ingestion.
Simple, Quick, and Efficient
What do you like best about the product?
It is very simple, quick, and efficient to set up new sources. It provides great reporting on active rows and is easy to select and de-select tables to include. It has handled schema changes quite well.
I have not had to spend time doing "data engineering" for EL since we got Fivetran.

What do you dislike about the product?
Customization options are limited. Like forcing us into soft-deletes rather than allowing an option for hard-deletes.
Single tables can get shockingly expensive. Where 95% of our cost for a database is coming from our messages table.
DBT support is not available for SQL Server.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Burning too much time doing data engineering without a qualified resource. Not having pipelines fail due to schema changes or dropped or added columns. Having new columns added immediately is huge and saves so much time. Not having to manually create columns and tables in SQL is a blessing.
It works very well once setup correctly.
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran is very easy to use and it works without much of a hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesnt have enough connectors and adding more connectors is not as easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Fivetran to connect our excel data in sharepoint with Snowflake and it worked quite well.
Reliable Extraction tool with a good number of integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Connecting data sources is easy and reliable once when the connection is made. There are hardly any syncs that fail.
What do you dislike about the product?
Less number of integrations on the engineering tooling space. Like say bitbucket, clickup etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran helps us build integrations with our platform in minutes instead of weeks.
Intuitive, simple tool for DIY data pipeline
What do you like best about the product?
Census allowed me, a fairly non-technical marketing exec, to create the report I needed within an hour using the tools I was already familiar with and basic SQL.
The UI was fairly intuitive and the help center was actually helpful solving the issues I had.
Additionally, our analytics team also gets a ton of value from Census creating new data pipelines easily.

What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing model is confusing -- even after review, we don't understand exactly what we are paying for. The biggest obstacle we've actually had is figuring out if new reports will add to our bill. Despite this, we still got an unforeseen price increase and had to go back and remove fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use census to connect a number of platforms without having a dedicated data engineering team. In particular, we use the connection between Pipedrive, BigQuery and Google Sheets to develop most of our standardized reporting.
Easy to use and manage
What do you like best about the product?
As someone who considers themselves SQL literate, I found the tool very easy to use. I manage out GTM tech stack and Census has been critical in us leveraging product data to optimize our GTM motion.
The team itself is also amazing. They're always willing to help, brainstorm ideas, and share best practices.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to mention at the moment. The product itself is always growing and anytime I've submitted feedback it's been reviewed and implemented quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a PLG company and on the revenue side, we are most successful when we can leverage product data.
Census helps us with two critical use cases:
1) moving critical product funnel data to other GTM systems to enable Sales/Marketing tactics and reporting and
2) moving usage data to our consumption billing tools, helping to automate our billing process.
