Good experience
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran helps you centralize data from different places in one data warehouse. The whole concept is strong. The setup is extremely easy, and the support is helpful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fivetran works with connectors. The principle is easy and strong, but the connector needs to be available. If the connector is not available, you're simply out of luck. You can submit an idea, but you have to wait until they have time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had different data sources in different places, and combining those to get one version of the truth proved to be challenging. Via Fivetran this was very easy to accomplish. Also, once setup you don't have to look back.
Excellent pricing model, good overall functionality
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran's pricing model allows us to really justify our entire reporting stack and data pipeline, because rather than paying per connector, we get to pay per monthly active row.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point, I have not run into any dislikes with the platform; nothing has functioned out of the ordinary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran has solved our reporting pipeline requirements; as a digital marketing agency, we have a very broad tech stack and report from several different software.
Excellent tool for fast, plug-and-go ELT
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran makes it extremely easy to set up a connector and get your data flowing to a destination right away. Out of the box, they have a huge selection of connectors to common data sources. And once connected, we've experienced minimal to no fuss with our connectors syncing the data on a consistent basis. Fivetran allows our small analytics team to focus our time in other areas instead of fussing with manual script solutions to try and access data from multiple sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
We were a bit surprised with the monthly cost based on the size of our company and data needs. It ended up being significantly higher than we anticipated. However, in the end, we still went with Fivetran due to how easy they've made our entire ELT process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting our data from multiple different sources into our data warehouse so that we can do integrated, full-story analytics on our clientele. Connecting to the data sources and piping the data over on a regular, timely basis in a reliable, scalable manner.
Helpful tool for data synchronization
What do you like best about the product?
We use Census for pushing data from Snowflake into Salesforce. Tool was very easy to set up and has been running seamlessly in the background. We have gotten a few notifications of errors via email but we love how simple and reliable it is. Team at Census was great to work and is super responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall it has been great. Personally I prefer the pricing of the tool to be based on connectors or something similar vs number of fields that you sync, however that is not a reflection of the product or the company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census was an easy to use tool that allows us to sync data from our data warehouse into our CRM environment. It is easy to configure and performs its job reliably.
An easy to setup and powerful tool
What do you like best about the product?
* Very easy to setup and use and supports the applications we currently use
* The new edit feature for columns in existing syncs is helpful and faster than the previous case to delete and add the column again
* Makes data more accessible to stakeholders who can view the information directly on the CRM without the need to query any database
* Love the 'Model' features with which simple SQL queries can be used to create a custom model to sync the data

What do you dislike about the product?
* One thing that can be improved is providing the test row feature when making changes to an existing sync. Right now, this is only offered when creating new sync
* If a sync has too many fields, it is challenging to browse through to find the one you are looking for; a search feature would be beneficial here
* Setting up an initial sync takes up some time, and it has happened before that I have been logged out when trying to save the sync only to realise that it has all gone and now I need to re-do
* A feature to copy an existing sync would be helpful for situations when the same sync needs to be set up for different environments

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
* Allows non-technical stakeholders to view the data directly in the business application they use, which now has data from other sources synced to it through Census.
* No need to setup any personal infrastructure to do reverse ETL
* Using real-time data to feed Braze, which handles our email communications.

Good for getting from 0 - 1
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to get up and running. All you need are queries that can map to custom fields (in our case, SQL) and the destinations for custom fields (services like salesforce, zendesk, etc.).
What do you dislike about the product?
Incremental syncs require connecting to a read/write instance of your data source - but Census does not recommend connecting to your production instance. This requires a little bit of additional work to get off the ground. It would be interesting if Census could offer a solution in this space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reverse ETL functionality without all the infrastructure required for reverse ETL. It's allowed less technical teams to, with a bit of query knowledge, get data from one source to another.
Integrates with Salesforce
What do you like best about the product?
Connects well with other systems like Salesforce, Databricks, etc..
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a declarative solution so it requires code
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Contributing to tracking inventory and updating multiple systems
I use occasionally, but haven't found any issues yet
What do you like best about the product?
Census is intuitive. I support census mostly from the data side (I feed the underlying tables into census), so occasionally, a stakeholder runs into a technical issue, and I have to resolve it. I'm able to quickly jump in without a big learning curve
What do you dislike about the product?
Not great documentation. Looking around for how to use census different functionalities doesn't seem natural, and I don't find excellent documentation. Also, seems like a really manual tool, wish there so some more advanced flexibility so user could automate repeated tasks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves our issue of feeding data into hubspot.
Solid RETL tool. Great support
What do you like best about the product?
* UI is intuitive and easy to understand.
* API Debugger within the Census UI helps us to identify issues quickly.
* Amazing support from Census' team.
* Census listens & takes action -- Census' team turns your product feedback into features (Ask them for examples!)

What do you dislike about the product?
* Lack of version control (Git sync), detailed audit log and the ability to reverse changes
* Lack of granular role management - I'd love to control who has access/can do what in what tool.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census is a robust RETL tool that abstracts data team away from all the integration works needed when shipping data to third-party tools (Rate limiting, field mapping, translation, change delta capture), so, as a data engineering team, we can focus on generating & building out datasets, rather than figuring out, for example, how to write a Python code to call a third-party API and figure out how to handle rate limiting/outages gracefully.
Great data tool
What do you like best about the product?
The tool makes it super easy to connect multiple different tech with a nice UX
What do you dislike about the product?
A little hard at first to navigate, and find the right place to find the right data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better than zapier with bigger data
