What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Fivetran's ease of setup and usage, which made integrating our systems straightforward. Its reliability and secure platform ensure smooth data synchronization across multiple databases. I value its robust networking capabilities and the helpful services it provides for SaaS applications. Additionally, it simplifies schema management with its flexible features and supports enhanced data delivery and performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Fivetran's pricing to be quite expensive. If the cost could be reduced or there were more flexible pricing options available, it would be more accessible to a larger group of users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Fivetran to sync data across multiple databases effortlessly with a reliable and secure platform. It simplifies ETL processes, supports easy schema changes, and offers fast data delivery, enhancing my data management experience.
Real-time data replication and integration streamline processes and enhance productivity
What is our primary use case?
The usual use cases for Fivetran that I work with involve real-time replication from Oracle Fusion, Oracle DB, and some of the APIs. I also work with replication from S3.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of Fivetran so far is the data replication. The real-time data replication is what I see best in the market where it reduces the overhead of customers needing to maintain the pipeline. Even when an error occurs, it automatically tries to solve the issue without manual interaction needed.
The effectiveness of Fivetran's pre-built connectors in enhancing my customer's productivity is significant because everything is easily configurable. The documentation is very clear, so there's no difficulty in finding the necessary steps. Everything is pre-documented. The pre-built connectors that are available are excellent. Most functionalities are covered, and in most cases, it works according to expectations.
What needs improvement?
If Fivetran can build in more transformations, that would be really helpful in my opinion.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Fivetran collectively based on project requirements. I work with AWS, GCP, Snowflake, and Fivetran as part of my experience. My experience with Fivetran specifically extends to about two to three years, depending on project requirements.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
I have not experienced any challenges with deployment.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
From my experience, Fivetran is very reliable. They have 99.9% accuracy on the data load and they maintain transparency. When the data is loaded, they clear it from their storage, keeping only metadata for MAR calculation and pricing purposes.
How are customer service and support?
I often communicate with the technical support of Fivetran whenever we encounter issues. I would rate them a seven. If they could provide support more quickly, that would be great.
How was the initial setup?
I usually participate in the initial setup and deployment of Fivetran. I handle the solutioning from start to end.
What other advice do I have?
I don't use Fivetran's automated ETL feature, but after loading, we use dbt for the transformation.
I have not used Fivetran's Schema Drift Management feature.
The integration with data warehouses such as Snowflake and BigQuery has been successful. Fivetran has clear documentation on configuration for both warehouses.
Regarding pricing, Fivetran uses MAR pricing, which I would consider moderate. The pricing consideration ultimately depends on the project budget since the client is responsible for payment while I implement the solution.
On a scale of 1-10, I rate Fivetran a 9.
Fivetran Is An Excellent Data Syncing Software
What do you like best about the product?
1. Great extended support for google sheets , even on cell group level. It is easier to manage scd metadata with this feature.
2. Timely sync of data with less failures acroos various connections.
3. Support for almost every other software that are used by various enterprises.This gives freedom to be in one integrator and sync data from all softwares.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Schema section in connection is a bit slow but that is understandable.It would be good if the schema is pre fetched and stored runtime so it will be easier while editing setups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have around 50 different places company wide from where we need to sync data into warehouse on an hourly basis.Fivetran does a great job by timely syncing without delay.
The setup for any connection is very quick and easy which helps whole team to seamlessly create connections and sync various data.The Incremental/historical data sync feature is great.

What do you like best about the product?
- The speed and pace of the tool
- The overall deployment and implementation is extremely easy
- The number of available integrations is huge and it will cover most of your ingestion needs
- How well-organized their schemas are
- Usage and pricing is straightforward
- The Fivetran account reps and support are so well versed with their tool and they are always so supportive to help
What do you dislike about the product?
- Contracting can be a bit tricky
- It can become costly if you turn SCD Type 2 on but its not really on Fivetran
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The overall speed of building ingestion pipelines is extremely high and their documentation on schemas brings excellent clarity for all stakeholders.
Fivetran enables those who are not data engineers to access data they need

I can connect data from online marketing channels within a few clicks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Whenever I've experienced connection issues, the instructions to resolve this were not very clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an online marketer, I've always struggled with connected performance marketing channel data to one singular source. Fivetran now allows me to do this within a few clicks for the top performance marketing channels.

Customer support and ease to set up connectors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing can change and cause significant increases. I.e. DBT transformations which were suddenly charged.

Easy data engineering pipeline for some of our key databases.

The ease of use. Their supported connectors are a cinch to set up and it's nearly effortless to maintain
What do you dislike about the product?
Some services we use don't have supported connectors. I hope they continuously look at those using their custom SDK and consider creating official connectors for these use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting up syncs between our disparate data sources and our data lakehouse.
Saving time/money/effort rather than custom data engineers and pipelines

The trial component and working out how to scale, start moving some sources over and growing.
Option of terraform and APIs is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't think of any, except that it is perhaps more pricey than other tools, but it is way more mature and easier to use, so can't fault it there.

We do not have a data engineering team, and recently started our data journey, was blown away how quick and easy to get data into desired target (GCP in our case)

Ability to pull data from 3rd party tools and consolidate in CRM and other platforms.

Need a fair amount of technical knowledge or SQL to run more complex queries.

We use Census to identify offline conversion data from our paid search ads and then push the data back into Google Ads for optimal retargeting.
