Best Automation tool for our needs
What do you like best about the product?
We Integrated Census to our new Salesforce environment which helps us get our customer fata from our DataBase to our CRM so that all our internal salesforce users can access data at one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the Integration/Automation is taking more than longer times to sync the changes that we made in our CRM like there was a time when we changed the name of a field in our CRM and also made the change in the integration, but it took more than 48 hours to sync the new changes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census is solving us by keeping all of our Database's data in one place, so it is easier for our reps to not go to too many places to check or validate the data
Pipes data with ease
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to connect our systems together!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike. I would say there are some technical resources that are needed to get it up and running but that is inevitable. Once it's set up it's pretty easy to use!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting our data back from our data warehouse back into our point solutions in an easy and fast manner was key
Exposing advanced analytics metrics to Salesforce
What do you like best about the product?
Query-based input payload generation and integration with DBT.
What do you dislike about the product?
Insert jobs to more complex data models with many dependencies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census removes the dev-up requirements for reverse-ETL operations. It simplified the same in our org so Salesforce Architects and Analytics Engineers could easily create transfer jobs without a heavy reliance on Data Engineers.
Great tool for reliable low-maintenance exports
What do you like best about the product?
Set-up and forget, variety of available connectors
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be pricy, especially for small exports
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Exporting data to external vendors without the need to set up and manage our own ETL pipelines
Cencus is good way of data migrating
What do you like best about the product?
Migrating data from our source to other services interm of real and integrity is great way of managing different department needs. Compare to other, it make us easier to deal with the intuitive UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using census so far has not really had downside. But one point, that Cencus can offer to extend the offer of more platforms, and better filter in term of getting data from the source tho.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gets data into the other platforms, then other departments can make decision on other platform as well, for example CRM and logistics, they need more infos to make decisions from their ends.
Nice !
What do you like best about the product?
In realtime sync others products (intercom, klavyo etc) to our data warehouse easily. But not just sync data you use sql to choose and transform data as you please.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd say the cost scale is kind of steep. Hopefully you provide a startup plan. I would have never sign up to census withtout it, so thanks for now ! Top help with the cost for small team you could base your price and some king of compute time for the request or something and not on the destination fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us better target our customer with marketing (email, push notifications etc) based on our application data. We can send the right amount of meessages to the appropriate clients.
Drop the custom ETL pipelines; use Census instead
What do you like best about the product?
We used to build our custom ETL pipelines using the APIs of the 3rd party vendor (Marketo, Salesforce, etc.). This was undifferentiated heavy lifting and not the best use of the engineering hours. With Census, our integration times have gotten much shorter, and there is better monitoring and alerting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product in itself is the best in class. I'd prefer if Census had way more integrations with niche data vendors like Apollo, Adapt, etc. The documentation could be a bit simpler and could have more descriptive examples.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We frequently sync data between different B2B systems and our CRM (the source of truth). This was earlier done by custom ETL pipelines built by data/growth engineers on the team but is now taken care of by Census.
Reverse ETL with excellent support and good integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Simple, straightforward way to configure and run data syncs from a pre-processed source of truth to other tooling.
Has a clean integration with dbt core so that everything can be source controlled and directly integrated with in-house model definitions. Exposes an API for Airflow (or other orchestration tools) to trigger syncs with upstream dependencies.
Census support is excellent and extremely responsive, making it easy to overcome any issues that we've encountered in our pipeline work.

What do you dislike about the product?
Our biggest complaints are around the UI:
- Setting up new syncs can be somewhat time-consuming.
- Viewing the configuration of large syncs is slightly awkward.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Handles data pipelines from potentially complex definitions to other tooling. For example, helps to enrich event streams (e.g. in Amplitude or Mixpanel) with calculated user features and enable product led growth motions by syncing product use data to CRMs (e.g. Salesforce or Hubspot).
Census is great when we want to sync the data to our salesforce org from different application.
What do you like best about the product?
The connection is easy to use. With 3 clicks we can easily connect to salesforce.
What do you dislike about the product?
when we add a new field mapping and if we try to sync next day, the changes are not saved. But when we do the sync during the same day, we dont see any issues.Hard to find the logs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data sync timing is reduced with Redshift to salesforce. Before it was taking 4 hrs to sync data but it reduced to 15 min now.
Straight forward, intuitive and incredibly useful
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that no backend is needed in order to set it up. Postman, Curl, VS code all goes out the window when using Fivetran. Huge reduction of time spent setting up scheduled API and database connections. Saves a lot of time for a company like ours that doesn't have an IT department but still want real time performance dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
The premade reports are somewhat inconsistent over connectors. Would like a variable overview description for each connectors and use predefined metrics similarly to looker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real time updates across all systems and a great overview of company performance. The most important thing is that we have all our data in one place (BQ) for AD HOC, dashboards, analysis, forecast etc... Before Fivetran we had data in all places and general overview and security were very low or not nonexistent. Today everything is automatic, simple and easy.
