What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, there aren't any big issues with Census, but few things which can be improved are:
1. Slack integration can be improved, for example- sending DM's.

Many things have improved in our day-to-day routine, like sending data to tools such as Salesforce is a lot quicker.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Pricing can get pretty expensive and is hard to calculate (as is it based on MAR)
- dbt integration has still a lot of room for improvement (and is pretty pricey as well)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Buy instead of self build data pipeline. For most usecases it is just basic config and works perfectly. Depending on your plan you can even go to neartime reporting scenarios (sync every 5 or 15 minutes with the source data)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fivetran is pretty good at what it is supposed to do (data pipeline as a service)
Seamless integration, pay for only what you use!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to implement, pay by row, great customer support, easy UI, fast onboarding. Easy to integrate with Snowflake and other cloud platforms. Has many great out-of-the-box solutions that other competitors do not have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Non-intuitive marketing reports, cannot seem to get a 1:1 with marketing platform data such as facebook, pinterest, google etc. Lacks integrations such as Impact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrate data into one centralized location. In-real time data ingest.
Great, easy to use pay as you go ELT tool to get data into your data warehouse
What do you like best about the product?
The set up to connect your sources to your data warehouse is a snap, literally in minutes like they advertise. Large array of supported source connections, with support for ad hoc spreadsheet uploads via Google Sheets or emailing CSVs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's some source connectors not supported yet like Facebook leadgen data, so definitely compare what's available out of the box and read the fine print. I haven't tried Stitch or Matillion, so you should compare against those tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Salesforce, Netsuite (new version coming soon), Google Sheets and CSV connectors are great for us, and everything syncs seamlessly into our Snowflake instance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare to Stitch and Matillion and make sure your major sources and destination data warehouse are supported.
Simple and easy
What do you like best about the product?
Connecting a data source is so much easier when I can just click to login to a new source
What do you dislike about the product?
Considering we could build our own etl it is quite expensice
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accessibility to our data
Good product; exceptional customer support
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran does its job well, and we've had it running for months without issues. What has really stood out about Fivetran though is the support we've gotten from our account rep, both during our trial and since. He has been very quick to respond helpfully to questions, and worked hard to resolve an issue we had that required action by another vendor (for one of the connecting SaaS products we were syncing data from). As an early stage startup, we're a small account, but we never felt de-prioritized. Knowing we can get expert help resolving questions related to Fivetran is part of making it a reliable part of our data stack, and I would be eager to choose Fivetran again in the future because of this.
We had also trialed Fivetran two years prior to our ultimate adoption, and the support from a different set of folks at that time was also superb. They were very upfront about what was and was not possible, and understood when we decided it wasn't a good fit for us at the time. The positive experience I had then was part of why I reached back out when I thought we were ready to get value from Fivetran. The feeling of partnership to determine whether there was a good fit, instead of pressure to sign up no matter what, was refreshing.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to anticipate which connectors will be up and running with the push of a button, and where there might be snags (often outside of Fivetran's control). One of the key connectors we wanted to use required a substantial upgrade of our account with the other vendor, which we didn't realize would be necessary. However, the trial period with Fivetran was very effective in helping us identify these issues before we committed to using Fivetran, and the responsiveness of our account rep helped minimize the pain points. For the majority of the connectors we set up, it really was very easy to get going.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For data sources that have Fivetran connectors, we've been able to sync data from these products into our BigQuery data warehouse with almost no setup or maintenance required. In all cases, we could have built these connections ourselves, but I'm very happy to enable my team to focus on truly custom work related to our business specifics, and pay for Fivetran to handle the rest for us. Especially in an environment where data scientists and engineers are in high demand, I don't want them to spend time re-inventing the wheel when we can access the work Fivetran has already done for common sources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make good use of the free trial period, it really helps you understand how it will work for you
Census a best way to manage your data warehouse ?
What do you like best about the product?
Census can sit on any of your data and helps you manipulate your data at ease. The census provides a wide range of scope to interact with your data warehouse, You name it and they have it Google big query etc. Using census is pretty simple, having a good knowledge of SQL will help you cope with the Census platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Census has many features but when we compare census with CRM platforms like salesforce, I feel census could do better and develop a CRM platform. I'm not sure about their cross-platform support but a mobile application will make census shine in the dark sky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Census, all the data had to be entered or retrieved manually. Census lets me automate a few of the simple yet important steps to create an impact. Census has helped me save my time and reduce manual errors drastically.
Great learning tool, really helps connect people with interests in the field to professionals!
What do you like best about the product?
Very user friendly, looking forward to seeing what they do next!
What do you dislike about the product?
Have not come across any problems yet! As more people join the community I think it can only improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Downstream processing for compny data has been really interesting to learn about.
Surprisingly affordable!
What do you like best about the product?
As stated, the price for the feature set is remarkable. It's easy to sync data in multiple places, with a less experienced staff (easy to use!). The interface is nice, too. The only time I had to contact support, they were extremely knowlegeable and friendly - and best of all resolved my issue very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some minor issues when using different browsers, that's about it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lots of time saved being able to schedule syncs easily, again, having less technical people able to set and run these as well. Everything is in one place so it's easier to manage.
Plug and play reverse ETL solution
What do you like best about the product?
From the start Census has been a reliable reverse ETL solution. They've been very responsive to feature requests and are even developing a new destination for us now. All in all a great tool and team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does what it needs to. We haven't tested out setting up the connectors via the API as there was no need for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending data to Salesforce and offline conversions to Google Ads. It's grwrly simplified out integration landscape and we've been able to move fast.
