Fivetran is a generally good solution for our data elt needs
What do you like best about the product?
The large number of available connectors and easy to use interface
What do you dislike about the product?
- Slowest sync frequency is 24 hours
- Can not set sync hours to be within a window of time (working hours) without having to use the fivetran api
- Doesn't have a connector to Amazon Seller Central
- Would be great to be able to only sync certain records within a specific table (based of sql query or filter)

Transfering data from data sources to warehouse.
This makes it significantly easier to analyze data from all sources.

What do you dislike about the product?
I experienced a bug a few weeks back. When I set up a connector, all the tests passed, but when I did the sync, I kept getting a null pointer error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ingesting a few third-party data sets. No need to manage API connectors ourselves, very handy.

Very useful for handling a large number of API connectors

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the speed and capability of Fivetran, as well as the flexibility. It's a true data integration tool combined with many features and provides tremendous functionality for sharing and controlling the ETL pipeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the product would make warehouse recommendations and seamless integration. Also, I would appreciate it if the documentation could cover more on various APIs and make the developers easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to send emails and invite the users. And all these ingestion work is through Fivetran. The whole process is simplified anad deinitely reduced our work a lot.

What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran makes data engineering accessible to business users. It has dramatically improved the reliability of our data in Snowflake for much less than a FTE.
What do you dislike about the product?
Account onboarding could have been smoother, aside from that the product just works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do not have the capacity or resources to hire a full time data engineer to oversee an in-house solution. Getting accurate data flows into snowflake is critical.

What do you like best about the product?
Setting up most of the connectors is easy and they have lots of documentation available. The integration with dbt Core to power transformations has been very powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unable to do any kind of transformations or changes before the data is loaded into the destination.

Unable to connect to a few data sources

What do you like best about the product?
Flexible table schemas if the API allows. Setting up most of the connectors is straightforward and they have heaps of documentation on the others. I appreciate that they're leaning in to dbt to handle transforms instead of trying to write their own UI. That might be less approachable for some teams, but if you're already converted to dbt it's great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I thought I wouldn't run in to anything it couldn't connect to--but it turns out I do fairly frequently. There are also some undocumented features that are a little frustrating. More than once I've had a customer service rep say they could enable something for me--but if I had not contacted them I wouldn't know that feature existed. Finally you are locked in to schema and table names very early in the process, so if you are going to be connecting a lot of tables in a lot of databases you need to be conscientious about naming conventions early on because changing is a pain.

Data aggregation for a host of marketing clients. We connect mostly Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface and user experience are straightforward and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not cheap and the pricing scheme is opaque. It also can get incredibly costly quickly if you don't scope your contract correctly.

It's great for federating data across operational platforms.

Sourcing data from all departments of our company. Fivetran syncs with all of the major sources of information.
An Easy Data Integration Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran is a relatively easy data integration tool to set the data point integrations. It supports many different types of data source and targets. One that was important for us was salesforce which helped make the decision.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had some challenges wth their sales team who were in such hurry to close the deal weren't allowing us to test the tool with needed integrations and environments properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had many different sources from where the data had to be collected into two major destinations. We had nearly 15 data sources which had sources like RMBMS, files, SF, stream, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good tools with less frill. I would recommend it if it fits your requirements. It is good for data transfer and replication and wouldn't recommend for ETL.

Implement it, it is expensive in the year, but it is worth it, as it simplifies data transfer, it is ideal for start-ups
