Set it and forget it (but monitor costs!)
What do you like best about the product?
It just works. Support for hundreds of connectors, good documentation, and support tickets are typically resolved in a reasonable amount of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Monthly Active Rows billing model can get expensive very fast, so you need to keep an eye out for costs, especially for high-volume data sources such as event data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't have to manually build custom pipelines for each data source, Fivetran is a plug-and-play experience for bringing data from a variety of databases, APIs, and SaaS apps into your destination data stores (data warehouses, for example).

What do you like best about the product?
Great functionality. Some connectors need regular review and issue escalation (e.g. Marketo)

When support issues present, they can require a lot of interaction to see through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are getting professionally managed connections to a range of solutions where are of the upkeep complexity is simplified into one bill.
Adding fields to the data schema was a breeze
What do you like best about the product?
It was very easy to find and add fields to the data schema for integrations. I found the UI simple to navigate the very first time I used it without any need for additional help.
What do you dislike about the product?
We use a lot of formula fields and sometimes Fivetran makes assumptions about formula syntax that are not helpful. We developed work-arounds for this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to reliably move data between systems and make updates to the data schema quickly as fields are added or deprecated.

FiveTran has quite a number of connectors that will allow you to get data where you need them.

There's nothing to dislike about FiveTran because it always finds a way to provide what you need.

Right now, I a m still waiting for the availability of Google Ads connector: SEARCH_TERM_KEYWORD_STATS

This is an expression of admiration for an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solution that is easy to use and requires minimal setup, similar to a "plug and play" device.
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support could be faster and more proactive. There have been cases where connectors have stopped working or not syncing and there is no update on the status page or in incident reports. These are jobs that are critical to our operation and we received no news about incidents. We had to reactively reach out to support to ask why the syncs were not working.

What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The ability to seamlessly integrate with a large variety of data sources is valuable. Fivetran is an easy-to-deploy solution for organizations looking at integrating a wide variety of data sources. We used Fivetran as a proof of concept and found it very stable during the short duration of our use.
What needs improvement?
In our case, we ultimately did not end up using Fivetran because we were able to do custom connects at a lower cost compared to Fivetran. From a cost perspective, if the number of connectors is lesser, then Fivetran is not the most cost-efficient option.
For how long have I used the solution?
We used Fivetran for less than six months, not more than that.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
We did not encounter any issues with deployment. The initial setup was straightforward.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
During the duration of the time that we used Fivetran, it was highly stable. I would ideally rate it nine or ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability of Fivetran at close to nine or ten.
How are customer service and support?
We did not require any technical support because we have our own core set of developers. Therefore, we did not have experience contacting their technical support.

We did not end up using Fivetran permanently because we were able to perform custom connects at a lower cost.

For organizations looking at integrating a very large variety of data sources, Fivetran is an easy-to-deploy solution. I would rate the overall solution eight out of ten.
Efficient Data Integration with Cost Concerns
What do you like best about the product?
I use Fivetran mainly for managing data ingestion from SaaS systems into our warehouses like Snowflake. The system's main value is its speed and reliability, which allows me to avoid spending engineering time on building and maintaining custom connectors for systems like Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite, and Intercom. This leads to a stable pipeline with much less overhead, enabling my data team to focus more on modeling, analytics, and business use cases rather than debugging jobs and failures. The initial setup of Fivetran was very easy, fast, and intuitive, with a user-friendly UI and dashboard that allows understanding of consumption and the choice to sync specific tables. Fivetran is intuitive, flexible, and easy to use, which makes me very satisfied with the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the biggest issue is the cost. It's kinda convenient, but it can get very expensive as usage scales. If you have many connectors or high data volume, it's great for speed but not always the most cost-efficient option for the long term. There are also some losses of flexibility compared to building the data pipeline on your own.

I use Fivetran to manage data ingestion from SaaS systems into Snowflake. It provides speed and reliability, reducing time spent on building custom connectors and lowering personal overhead. Fivetran allows data teams to focus on analytics rather than debugging, and the setup is very easy and intuitive.
Built-in connectors offer extensive data source integration and time savings
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of Fivetran is its built-in connectors for a wide range of data sources. This covers about ninety-five percent of our needs. It also includes monitoring features which are essential for managing data connections from a couple of dozen different data sources through one tool. We don't need to worry about upgrades as Fivetran manages them. It's crucial for us to have everything managed through one tool.
What needs improvement?
Fivetran could improve by adapting more for technical users and by providing more options for such users. There should be more adaptability in terms of new features. If a specific feature is required, it should be integrated promptly. Improvement in existing connectors with new features is desirable. Enhancements around customer-focused product adaptation are also suggested.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Fivetran for at least four years.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support provided by Fivetran has generally been good, with a response time and competence that I would rate as good. However, sometimes I feel they do not fully adapt their product to the needs of customers.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used some other similar tools in the past that also provided automatic schema migrations.
What about the implementation team?
We have internal people that manage Fivetran, implying that the implementation was handled internally.
What was our ROI?
Primarily, Fivetran brings time savings. It saves us the effort of having one to two data engineers managing the tasks that Fivetran handles. However, since they upgraded their pricing every year and despite discounts, I would not consider pricing to be an advantage.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Our current yearly contract for Fivetran is approximately $70,000. Their pricing has increased over the years, so it's not seen as an advantage anymore. However, we do receive discounts with each contract.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate Fivetran nine out of ten. In the future, I hope Fivetran addresses pricing and features more promptly to improve adaptability.
A great tool, but with a matching price tag
What do you like best about the product?
The most useful thing about Fivetran is that it considers a lot of things for us. We use it everyday for ingestion, and it's working very well. It took little time to implement and integrate with our product, and their support has been really nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside we face while using Fivetran is the cost. The associated cost is not cheap.
