Great for ingestion of data via out of the box connectors
What do you like best about the product?
Great tool for ingestion of data via out of the box connectors. Setting up the connections is very easy with clear instructions next to it for when you need help with any of the steps; e.g. how to setup continuous replication on a Postgres master.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing model not 100% easy to understand
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are ingesting a.o. Google Analytics & Ads data into our datawarehouse. Before this was a manual download & import where now its done automatically, and the monitoring is directly also arranged. When there would be a hickup Fivetran is directly informing us via mail and when no action is taken automatically opening a ticket to check what is going wrong with the connection.

Ease of setup - including deltas meeting our 15 minute lag time delay from prod to data warehouse was impressive (from Salesforce and others)

Cost in non-trivial - other minor issues

- Price does shoot up really quickly
- Most connectors allow you to filter out fields and tables you don't need, but not all. Ends up leading to more data than you might want

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Fivetran primarily to get sales and payment data into our data warehouse from app stores and payment processors. It was a one click solution almost to get each source setup
It has been easy and great!
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Really simple and easy to get a data pipeline up.
What do you dislike about the product?
No good orchestration. You can't explicitly choose to run transformations in a certain sequence, or at a minute on the hour. Need more role types.

What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran is a service where you can ensure all of your data gets where it needs to go, and is completely exhaustive. I've never had to worry about incomplete data sets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fivetran is definitely built for the data literate. More of a feature than a critique, is that fivetran sends over absolutely EVERYTHING. It can add some time in sifting through data and documentation, but once it's set up it is set up for good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran helped us combine data across many sources that we previously didn't have access to. Their sales team worked with us to solve our need, and built a plan that works for us now and will scale with us in the future.

What do you like best about the product?
usabilty for connect almost everything, at least we could find a connection to all tools we needed. That avoids a lot of developments in our side, and hire new resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
maybe the price is a bit high. but as I said before, that avoid a lots of development in our side, so maybe make sense to invest with you.

it is very easy to connect with the rest of companies
Good documentation, simple use and a lot of connectors but also the most expensive

The trial period was excellent since we were in constant contact with their team. Their team helped to solve issues and answer questions. They extended the trial period to 60 days for us also, which was nice.
They are the only tool we found which supports Apple AppStore Connect.
Their UI/UX and documentation for the connectors are excellent, and they have publicly available schemas.
They provide an API that can be used to trigger operations programmatically.
They provide historical sync for all connectors. Other tools we evaluated like Hevo Data only provide point-forward data ingestion but cannot retrieve older records.
Their AWS Lambda connector is elegant for solving custom data ingestion sources not supported natively.
They are the only tool we found which supports Apple AppStore Connect.

The price tag is at least twice as expensive as other tools we evaluated.
We cannot specify a primary key for the s3 connector, so we end up with duplicate rows when we load data from that source.
It would be nice to see support for real-time data ingestion (eg. load a file as soon as it lands in an s3 bucket)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to ingest data from multiple applications and data sources into our Data Warehouse in Snowflake. We are a small team of Data Engineers, and our data sources continue to grow, so we needed something that allowed us to move fast.
The product is very good, the price is expensive

Fivetran is very good to consume information from Google Analytics, Search, LinkedIn, Facebook and most of marketing-related APIs
Also, the lambda connector is a very good wild card connector

Easy way to connect your data
What do you like best about the product?
Connectors that Fivetran has allowed us to get the data from multiple sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
The place where you paste the query for the transformatios is just anoying you can't edit the query there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an easy and fast way to allow business people to store the data in our database.

What do you like best about the product?
Data quality is good. It's easy to use even at large scale implementations, with low administrative overhead. The large amount of possible sources of data is really useful, we could solve many hard request with Fivetran.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way of calculating billing (MAR based) is extremely hard to explain to CFO, and almost impossible to control or influence to lower costs.
It doesn't have integration with cloud provider to move data with thousands of sources, you must configure each auth and connection.

Data centralization is the first one.
Fivetran allows us to concentrate all the data from so many different sources to a single DW in a matter of weeks, which has proven extremely useful company-wide.
