Simple and reliable reverse ETL
What do you like best about the product?
It's very simple to sync data to external systems. It is one less thing for engineers to worry about and generally sits in an area for which companies don't assign responsibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were a few eternal vendors we wanted to sync to but were not available as an integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We previously had data engineering take care of reverse ETL by writing manual scripts. It is a cumbersome problem and requires long-term maintenance. Also requires learning the API of external vendors, which can change.

- up and running in <10 minutes with limited technical knowledge
- consultants/ tech pre-sales very helpful, in particular slack groups
- New features coming out every so often are pretty straightforward and easy to adopt, for example connecting dbt runs and queries for less duplicate work across tools

What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly I'm very happy with the tool and don't have any complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census gets data from a warehouse into where we need it, in Salesforce and other tools. The team now has access to information they didn't have access to before
Quick and Easy Configuration for a Powerful Data Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Census has provided a great customer experience, with plenty of guidance, but only if necessary. We found the configuration quick and easy, and were up and running with our first data load within 15 minutes. Our business has loved the insight the new data streams have provided within our CRM. Census provides the ultimate building blocks to capture that elusive Customer 360.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, we have not encountered any issues or dislikes with the platform. For our business cases, it has checked every box so far. No negative feedback to provide.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have data in several disparate systems, but most importantly, from our product. This data is all currently centralized and processed within our data warehouse. To pull this important product information back into our CRM, Census provides the Reverse ETL technology to move this data into our CRM. Census allows us to have a full, 360-degree view of our Customer data, which has ultimately improved our Customer Service and Sales experience.

We're using this product for a Google Big Query to Salesforce integration.
An easy tool to use that syncs reliably
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is easy to use if you have basic SQL knowledge. The synchronization between a datawarehouse and marketing tools is easy to make and you don't have to take care of managing updates, upserts, deletes, or any other CRUD operations. Mapping is always made easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is still in a BETA phase for the number of connectors it has and the depth of these API connectors. I wish they have an integration to the Mailchimp Marketing API in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census helps us to synchronize the siloed data of various applications from our Snowflake warehouse and make it actionnable by sending to marketing tools, in the transformed format that we want to. It is a true reverse ETL

Curious about why Census is only a "Reverse" ETL tool and not doing regular ETL functionality like fivertran

Easy to use interface, quick to add new features and destinations, retry logic, alerting.

Does not support all destinations we would like.

It makes it easy to export data to 3rd party platforms such as Pipedrive and Intercom.

Great product solving real issues
What do you like best about the product?
Census is very user-friendly and easy to configure. I use it on a weekly basis and it is always a great experience. Also, the alerts for when a sync fails are very helpful so you can fix them on the spot and not compromise the data being pushed back into systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Personally, I do not dislike any functionality of Census. It has always accomplished everything I needed it to do and since the first time I used it is seemed clear what needed to be done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Direct connection with Salesforce is the main use at my company and it solved a big issue which is giving Sales and Customer Success people the access to the data they need right into the account object so they do not need to move to another system in order to the get that info.
