Census is great when we want to sync the data to our salesforce org from different application.
What do you like best about the product?
The connection is easy to use. With 3 clicks we can easily connect to salesforce.
What do you dislike about the product?
when we add a new field mapping and if we try to sync next day, the changes are not saved. But when we do the sync during the same day, we dont see any issues.Hard to find the logs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data sync timing is reduced with Redshift to salesforce. Before it was taking 4 hrs to sync data but it reduced to 15 min now.
Fast, secure and the support is incredible!
What do you like best about the product?
It just works! Easy to setup an account, setup a source and a destination (given you have all proper accesses), and data just flows into a usable data model. Takes hours off from ETL developers so that they can focus on the "T". No need for a developer to go through days of reading documentation, testing integrations, transforming the data, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Missing sources from our pool of applications and the turnaround time to get access to a new source is very slow. The community voting system is great but this still means that I need to have a developer take weeks to integrate raw data from these missing sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast data integration allows us to work on data models and transformations more quicker.
Cool tool for syncing internal business data to external customer facing tools
What do you like best about the product?
Census fills a really neat gap in our product cycle where we need to use our internal data to inform various customer-facing needs. Whether that's sending product emails or powering sales tools, Census does a great job of filling that gap
What do you dislike about the product?
At times it can be hard to debug syncing issues. For whatever reason, every so often syncs fail but then auto-recover on their own. There is a lack of visibility of what's going on underneath the hood so that creates a lack of confidence in the stability of the tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that it is solving is the transferring of internal data to other tools that the company uses. And instead of having to build custom tooling, Census is a flexible tool that we can leverage to meet various needs
Good
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and get started on building out ETL framework.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs more connectors, and even setting up simple REST APIs is complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No data engineering team required, lots of pipelines are plug/play
Great for mature tech stacks and startups alike
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use, plug and play, detail of schemas, pre-built dbt packages
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is excessively expensive, it is based on volume rather than value. Some datasets are high volume low value and vice versa. We are not willing to spend so much money for low value high volume sets
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connectors between data sources and warehouse, e.g. Jira, Github etc
Big time saver, lots of well built integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran is a "set it and forget it" product. It has saved our team countless hours of connecting data sources to our data warehouse and allows a large degree of flexibility in the schema.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have many complaints about fivetran. It's a bit expensive, but worth it to our team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting data from various data sources into our data warehouse for our data science team to analyze.
Great communication and support
What do you like best about the product?
The support and resources provided to partners.
What do you dislike about the product?
Highly technical product that requires a technical staff or partner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We look to partner with best in class.
Straight forward, intuitive and incredibly useful
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that no backend is needed in order to set it up. Postman, Curl, VS code all goes out the window when using Fivetran. Huge reduction of time spent setting up scheduled API and database connections. Saves a lot of time for a company like ours that doesn't have an IT department but still want real time performance dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
The premade reports are somewhat inconsistent over connectors. Would like a variable overview description for each connectors and use predefined metrics similarly to looker.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real time updates across all systems and a great overview of company performance. The most important thing is that we have all our data in one place (BQ) for AD HOC, dashboards, analysis, forecast etc... Before Fivetran we had data in all places and general overview and security were very low or not nonexistent. Today everything is automatic, simple and easy.
Great tool for reverse ETL
What do you like best about the product?
Census is great to automate reverse ETL processes, such as uploading offline conversions to marketing channels. The tool is set up extremely fast and very intuitive. On top of that the service provider is very helpful and responsive making the tool implementation a smooth experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Census seems to be useful for quite specialized use cases. Some companies might prefer to build their own APIs or rather use a bigger CDP. While I do see advantages in using Census, it might not be the case for everyone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated processes that needed to be done manually before and can therefore also now be done in a timely matter (and not only once per month for example). The feature of alerts when something was wrong is also very useful, so issues can be resolved quickly.
Easy Peasy
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of connectors available out of the box
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't choose cloud provider on Standard Plan
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting and synchronizing all of my data sources into Snowflake
