Fast and Easy integration from various Business tool to Data Lake/Warehouse

Super easy setup-and-forget system.

Some bad surprises sometimes on number of rows synced.
Might not be Fivetran fault, but more about the source of data.
Yet the sudden spikes for e.g. Hubspot monthly is kinda a bad surprise sometimes.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making all of our tools' (SFDC, Sheets, etc.) data queryable in a single place (Snowflake)
My team (data) uses Census for multiple syncs to and from external systems.
What do you like best about the product?
Customer support through our external Slack channel is very helpful and quick to answer questions we have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, small issues take a while to be addressed (e.g. boolean fields in syncs). For this reason, we occasionally need to find strange workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Census is keeping data in our database synced to external systems, so that these external systems used by other teams have data that is up-to-date. This is more reliable than other methods we have used for this.
Very happy despite a rocky start
What do you like best about the product?
I found the Shopify connector to be the best of all the solutions I evaluated, and has worked really efficiently and smoothly since the implementation.The product notifications are also relevant, inisghtful and timeous while the portal interface is also clean, simple and easy to use. Overall, a really solid product at a great pricepoint for what I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had a bumpy start where the support provided during the trial phase was really not what I would have expected from a global company, however once the issues were resolved the solution has worked flawlessly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating customised reporting and analysis out of a platform like Shopify is not easy, which is something that Fivetran has allowed us to do in an efficient way. Simple, easy to use connection to move the data to an environment in which we have more control and flexibility is exactly what we wanted, and got!
Fivetran - Expensive but Excellent
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran makes it incredibly easy to get started with replicating data from various source systems into data warehouse. I couldn't believe how quick and easy it was to select the tables and columns I wanted and then with a few clicks get the data replicating.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's a bit glitchy, but usually they work things out -- even having a technical support technician jump into the account (after being granted access) and troubleshooting. There were a couple times we had to do a full re-sync or set things back up, but overall it has been easy and straightforward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran helps us solve the problem of replicating data from our source systems (primarily MySQL RDS on AWS) into our data warehouse (AWS Redshift). They helped us avoid bringing a data engineer on board to handle this, at a significant cost savings.

Very easy to setup connections and get up and running. The connectors are stable and the documentation is comprehensive and kept up to date.

Managing spend takes some getting used to. You can easily end up spending more than you need to.

Fivetran has allowed me to centalise my data into a data warehouse for reporting.

It is very helpful that I can integrate multiple product with my Big Query.
Even though it is difficult to analyze the perfomance of the product, when Fivetran synced, I can analyze a lot of values via Big Query.

What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little bit annoying that a lot of data would be synced and the cost would be so high depend of the service to sync. So, it is required to tune the table.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran resolving the problem with data extraction of the service I use. Without Fivetran, it is needed to create API request by myself just for exporting data.

What do you like best about the product?
Our criteria were the availability of SaaS connectors and ease of use, because we only wanted one extraction tool for everything to keep complexity low. Fivetran had a few connectors that nobody else had and the setup was simple with UI and programmatic options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing of note. Back in the day, the pricing was steep with heavy use, but that has gotten better since.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing data from SaaS tools that our teams use to the data warehouse and analyse it together for richer insights not possible in those tools alone.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only minor dislike I have about Census relates to the tiers they use for classifying clients. They charge based on the number of columns, not rows, that you sync. This means that you may end up using tricks such as combining columns from the data source, causing Census to count two or more columns as one, and then splitting these columns again in the destination. Another workaround could be creating a JSON structure from multiple columns. Regardless, you may end up needing to find these workarounds in order to avoid increasing your billing.

Reverse ETL is too easy with Census!
What do you like best about the product?
Census is incredibly easy to use and set up. The reverse ETL capabilities have allowed us to create "live" reporting and move beyond gconnectors. Thank you!
