Notion review
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the power of writing docs and organizing docs and doing knowledge management in one place. It definitely is easier to find things in notion and stay organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not as fast as Google suit. Docs and tables take time to load. Sometimes you can't search for a word before scrolling to see all results of the database. The AI assistant is expensive and I get better results when I use ChatGPT. I wish it had direct integration with more third party apps like Intercom.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing knowledge and information across the organization and documentation.

Notion for Grad School
What do you like best about the product?
Notion has become my go-to location to track all my work for graduate school. Over the last few years I have built a hub for ALL my work, building integrations with apps like Zotero and Flow that have improved my efficiency at work. The initial learning curve is a bit challenging to overcome but so easy to use. I like that I can do all my work through a central hub without having to download multiple apps (which I did before). Is notion the best at every feature? No. But it makes it super easy! Also the apps that do ONE thing well also require learning and it gets exhausting after a point. As a PhD student, this has become the best decision I made regarding organizing my life.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Calendar feature is not the best. Would love it if I could use my outlook work calendar in here - as of now i maintain 2 separate calendars (which is fine). I really love how you can make detailed pages in the calendar - but if only it could let me use Outlook!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My biggest problem being a grad student and lab manager is that I needed a space where I could take notes, manage my research, and also maanage multiple projects in my lab. The initial phase of my use (the first 6 months) everything was in separate pages, but now I have a central hub - where i manage EVERYTHING, including grant applications. Super easy. Also - I have built in so many integrations - my favourite is the Zotero - where I can input papers and it automatically builds a reference manager.
Incredibly adaptable shared workspace with a very steep learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
Notion is a very friendly, sleek, wonderful looking shared workspace. Pages look great by default with very little extra work, but can also be modified heavily with advanced methods. Their website also has a lot of free and paid templates to show just how different pages can look and how many different things it can do.
The ability to nest data heavily into itself is also a great feature, and makes workspaces very easy to organize. The ability to have shared workspaces and private workspaces separate on the same document is also great.

What do you dislike about the product?
Notion's learning curve is very steep. The UI is very friendly on the surface, and easy to get the hang of, but after getting further into it you realize how incredibly dependent Notion is on tables/databases. Which is fantastic in theory, but they haven't made the process of adding or updating tables very user friendly. Once you get the hang of it it's wonderful and easy to apply to so many problems, but it took me days of pouring over tutorials to really understand Notion as well as I wanted to. I haven't had to do that with many other programs.
I would heavily consider the computer literacy of your team before adding Notion to your workspace, and possibly consider using only experienced Notion users to manage your data on it.
I'm also not sure why they decided to make Notion Calendar an entirely separate program, but it does affect my workflow. I would expect calendars to be something I could nest inside an existing page very easily. Which you can, technically, using tables. But it's not as easily integrated as I would have hoped.

Easy to use and customise. I love the shortcuts, I try to use word again and it feels SO old.

I wish I could do recurring events in a calendar.

What do you like best about the product?
Love using it for personal note-taking and organization, as well as managing and tracking quarterly goals and performance.

Helps write and rewrite content related to our Engineering team site. Great for managing self-performance and quarterly goals. Ask AI features have been very beneficial, I don't typically pay for many services but this has been worthwhile.

What do you like best about the product?
What I love about Notion is its versatility. It allows you to create a dedicated page for anything, from organizing trips and shopping lists to managing work tasks. You can also use it to jot down notes and store important information. I'm also a big fan of the AI tools at notion, which I use to draft emails, essays, and so on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I have difficulty opening it as it crashes or requests for updates very frequently.

Organize everything in one place, rather than using multiple apps for different tasks. Assists in writing email drafts and performing translations more easily.
Easy to use, great integrations

A lot can be done with small datasets - filtering, sorting, creating timelines, and various ways of presentation. Especially useful for managing experiments / records across the business.
Easy cross-referencing to other pages, smart link titles, integrates well with 3rd party software where supported.

Simple tables can't be readily formatted. Limited summary statistics for databases.

Creating a shared knowledge base - information store that multiple team members can collaborate effectively.
Everything is great except lack of offline mode

Brilliant tool for organizing my day-to-day schedule
What do you like best about the product?
I especially love that it offers ready-made templates that I can customize to fit my needs. Whether it's for organizing my budget and savings or planning trips to a particular destination. It's incredibly helpful that it provides ready-made vacation plans along with suggestions for tours, hotels, and restaurants.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform's design looks slightly outdated, it could use a color change and have options for users to choose their interface.

I use Notion for project Management with different teams and different projects. It is benefiting me with its flexibility that allows me to configure the projects as needed compared to others solutions in the market.
We also use Notion for Knowledge Base which whith the AI Writing Assistant make all the team life much easier.
