Promising Tool with a Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Notion has the potential to connect with numerous other applications, providing a promising hub of functionality. Although I'm still familiarizing myself with its capabilities, I recognize its uniqueness and the category it fills for my needs. I'm excited about the immense possibilities that Notion offers, especially in organizing and storing data like my music, MP3s, WAV files, and notes. Furthermore, its potential to compile and organize my data in high-quality formats is very appealing. The idea of Notion as a central server for all my information, working as an email hub, is intriguing. I am keen on harnessing its full potential to improve the workflow of my music and business initiatives.
What do you dislike about the product?
I struggle with Notion as I find its interface to be somewhat messy and unintuitive. While it seems promising with its range of connectors, I'm not tech-savvy and have found the setup and understanding of its capabilities to be complex. The AI features seem disconnected from the overall intuitive process, making it less user-friendly. Additionally, despite its potential, I have yet to see it deliver the highest quality solutions I need for my music and business projects. There's a learning curve I haven't fully overcome yet, and I'm uncertain about how to integrate all the features effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to centralize my music database and explore its potential for business integration, but I'm still learning its complex features.
Notion’s AI and G-Suite Sync Boost Productivity, Though Dashboard Can Be Finicky
What do you like best about the product?
A couple of the things I love most about Notion is that with its AI interface, I can drop in a .pdf and it can create a dashboard for me. I love how easy it is to sync with my g-suite items. I use it daily to keep me on track and make sure I'm getting things done the way I want to and need to.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think at times the dashboard can be a little bit finicky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a great task management software. I also use the AI to record meetings and provide action steps for me that sync automatically with my calendar.
Versatile Workspace with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I love using Notion primarily because of its versatility and ease of use. The platform's interface is quite user-friendly, making it enjoyable to work with. Once I understood the setup, which offers endless options, navigating and customizing Notion became straightforward. The ability to use it for various purposes is a significant advantage; it's like having an endless toolkit at my disposal, which I find very appealing. For my day-to-day tasks, Notion excels in streamlining information sharing and collaboration. It's been an invaluable resource for creating Wikis, managing projects, and organizing team hubs, offering a much-improved collaboration experience compared to Google Docs. The interface is particularly nice, and I appreciate its aesthetic appeal. Among its features, I find the AI capabilities incredibly helpful. Writing alongside the AI enhances my productivity, and it acts as a supportive feature in my work routine. Additionally, the calendar feature is quite cool, offering seamless integration and organizational support. These aspects combined make Notion a tool I would consider buying again thanks to its helpful and varied possibilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Notion's search functionality is not very effective for team-based information retrieval. When trying to find specific information, the search often returns a lot of irrelevant results, making it challenging to locate necessary content, especially across different teams like engineering and customer experience. This inefficiency leads to consideration of other vendors like Guru for organizing knowledge bases. Additionally, the initial setup process in Notion was a bit challenging due to the overwhelming number of options, which required time to understand how to organize everything properly. While once accustomed, it becomes straightforward, this initial hurdle can be difficult. Moreover, I find that Notion could improve as a knowledge base by making it easier to find team-specific information, and it would be beneficial if the AI could more intelligently search and find answers throughout the existing database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Notion beneficial for collaboration, creating Wikis, and managing team hubs, but it struggles with searching for team-specific information. It offers ease of use, a great interface, and diverse capabilities, though finding specific info for new team members is challenging.
Notion Boosts Team Collaboration, and Notion AI is Game Changing!
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity of pages, but also has the ability to utilize complex embeds. Notion AI and Agents are a gamechanger. I can keep my team connected with a single knowledge base which makes planning, getting alignment, and answering questions so much easier. Notion is easy for all team members to get started with, and I use it nearly every day, including Notion Mail and Calendar.
What do you dislike about the product?
The text selection shortcuts are counter-intuitive and differ from most other applications. As an example: "ctrl + Shift + Up" moves a whole line up, but in every other application that would just select the remainder of the line from that point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily structuring and centralizing knowledge. The new AI features make it much easier to query across the entire corpus, and the writing improvement tools greatly enhance the quality of notes and layout of the document.
Flexible, Intuitive Organization of a Wide Variety of Information with Powerful AI
What do you like best about the product?
Notion is one of the best ways I've found to organize information, particularly for a group of people to use. I like the database-first approach that gives me the flexibility of presenting the same information many ways across the workspace. I also like the attention to design -- it is very intuitive to work with. Finally, the text editor is also excellent -- the feature set is robust but it gets of your way to allow very fast input.
I also want to mention that their latest update with AI agents is a leap forward over chat windows. The ability to have a Master Prompt and a database of detailed prompts that I can direct the agent to works really well. The fact that I can pipe the output directly to my workspace, in whatever way I tell the AI to add it, has saved me huge amounts of time.
I use Notion more and more -- in both my own business and for other organizations I belong to.

What do you dislike about the product?
It works really well, but a feature from a paradigmatic standpoint I do like Roam Research's more free-form "structure as you go" mentality for personal journaling, ideating and day planning. Notion requires more up-front planning about how to structure a workspace, but unlike Roam I have been able to successfully include non-technically savvy users in my Notion workspaces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion as a knowledgebase for the Community Water System that I volunteer to manage. Our state regulatory agency requires us to keep a mountain of information, and at our last inspection I didn't even bring the old three-ring binder. Instead, I opened a laptop and was able to refer quickly to each part of our system documentation that the inspector needed to validate. I imagine that the Notion database will be much easier to hand off to the next generation of leaders of this organization than an out-of-date three ring binder.
I also use Notion to qualify and capture leads for my ghostwriting business -- all with AI. The AI searches the web to find prospects and completes a research dossier on each one, along with a suggested outreach script. It saves me huge amounts of time doing the repetitive work that is hard for me to focus on -- leaving me more time to do the creative work I enjoy.

The Ultimate Academic Organizer and Writing Assistant
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly everything, Notion and Notion AI helps me stay organized and makes my coursework so much easier to manage. When I'm working on complex assignments like my WRT 120 working draft about indigent defense systems,Notion AI can quickly distill my ideas into concise summaries and find the perfect words to express what I'm trying to say. The organization tools in Notion combined with Notions AI ability to help me refine my arguments and find synonyms keeps everything and anything about my academic work structured and polished. It's like having a writing assistant and organizer in one place.

its lack of transferability with scheduling I would also really like to see an alarm feture

Revolutionized My Content Management
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Notion for approximately two months and it has completely revolutionized the way I create, track, and post content. I found that Notion offers significant automation capabilities and its AI features immediately caught my attention. The ability to search through Google Docs, Google Drive, and within Notion itself is great, effectively replacing my use of Google Docs. Setting up Notion was straightforward and allowed me to discover use cases tailored to my work style. I particularly value the fact that I could directly create content within Notion, which was a major advantage that alleviated the need for redundant copy-pasting into Google Drive. Notion effectively solves the problem of keeping all my content in one place, allowing me to find and reference it quickly. I find the AI writing and knowledge base features most useful, and I appreciate how these capabilities enhance my workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I regret the lack of integration with Siri, which limits my ability to add content efficiently. I'm also not fully satisfied with task management capabilities in Notion; for efficient scheduling and task organization, I still rely on another tool called Motion. Better task management integration would certainly enhance my productivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Notion centralizes my content, enabling quick access and easy management, and its AI features enhance my content creation process efficiently.
Notion Makes My Job Easier!
What do you like best about the product?
My favourite feature is the AI Voice Assistant. I use it weekly to compile meeting notes and provide actionable insights. It's hugely easy to use and implement into our existing stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've not yet found anything I dislike about Notion, though I do find some of the UI to be confusing when first approached (such as when trying to go back to a previous page, a link must be used instead of clicking back on a project).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mostly use Notion to track my projects, but I use it for weekly meetings to go over project next steps, and it provides actionable steps without having to actively have a note taker.
