Notion AI: Your Brain, But Faster (With a Few Quirks)

  • October 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion AI feels like strapping a turbo engine onto your already-beloved Notion workspace. It’s easy to use, lightning fast, and most of the time, so intuitive you forget you’re talking to an AI. You ask, it delivers, and suddenly that blank page anxiety is gone. The pros are obvious: it gets out of your way and makes you look sharper, quicker, and more creative than you thought possible. Drafting, brainstorming, summarizing—Notion AI handles it all with a kind of casual brilliance that makes you wonder how you ever managed without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Of course, with all the flexibility that Notion is famous for, things can sometimes get a little… messy. Managing AI chats inside such an open canvas can feel like wrangling spaghetti—powerful, but not always streamlined. It’s less of a dealbreaker and more of a “worth keeping an eye on” kind of quirk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a Product person, Notion AI has become my secret weapon for working smarter. Meeting summaries are a lifesaver. No more scrambling through notes, it just pulls the key takeaways and next steps instantly. Beyond that, having all our product knowledge, specs, and research centralized in Notion (and searchable through AI) means I can connect dots across projects without losing hours digging. It keeps me moving faster, sharper, and more focused on the actual decisions that matter.

Great user experience means more and easier to find docs

What do you like best about the product?
Really easy to get started, databases and different views let you easily keep track of whatever you want (internal newsletters are the most recent example at my company).
What do you dislike about the product?
The non-AI search kinda sucks. Thankfully, Notion is leaning more heavily into AI, which makes this irrelevant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Helps us keep up-to-date on AI-related news by aggregating the articles we find
- Generally amazing source of internal information
- Helps keep track of personal tasks while being able to relate them to other internal documents really well
- Mail + Calendar are waaaaaaaay better than Google / Outlook / etc

Versatile and Collaborative Platform with Minor UI Hiccups

  • October 02, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
I find Notion to be an incredibly rich resource for handling tasks and collaborating on documents. The ability to use a slash mark to quickly access various features like tables and checklists is incredibly convenient. Additionally, the AI-assisted writing and support are very beneficial, especially for improving my writing skills. Notion's functionality in tracking tasks and creating timelines has been very useful for my workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do think sometimes Notion glitches out when I'm trying to perform certain actions, especially when working on a table; the tab functionality doesn't work as well as I expect. This suggests there are UI interactions that confuse Notion, which might either need improvement to be more intuitive or require me to adjust my understanding of how it operates compared to other applications I've used previously. There are UI or UX elements I'd change since they can be frustrating at times, although not to the extent where I would stop using the application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps with my writing by organizing thoughts and ideas better. It improves my ability to articulate them in documents. Additionally, it keeps track of timelines and tasks efficiently, enhancing overall task management.

Powerful AI tools

What do you like best about the product?
Notion AI has proven to be very useful in several ways. It can take meeting notes for me, without requiring an AI assistant present on the call. I also appreciate having access to the latest models, which keeps the experience up to date. The AI writing assistant is excellent, whether I'm starting a new document from scratch or working on existing content—it's great for continuing or revising my original work.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX is challenging, and organising and navigating around the documents I have is tricky. I also sometimes find using the blocks on the page to be fiddly. Coming from OneNote previously, I find Notion harder in this regard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily taking meeting notes and using AI to summarise them. I use this both for typical team meetings where Notion is effective at taking notes on the discussion topics, and extracting out action items. Secondly, my role also consists of coaching other people, and I use the AI note taker to document coaching sessions. This can be used for reference that I can refer back to to see client progress, as well as using the AI assistant to coach me and help me reflect on my performance withing a session as a coach.

It also provides a typical note taking experience for my notes that helps to keep me more organised. Having the notes augmented with AI is useful as it not only is easier to find my previous thoughts, but can incorporate these notes into future document writing with the AI writing assistant.

The AI Writing assistant specifically, dramatically speeds up my ability to prepare documentation, proposals, emails etc. It's particularly effective (as mentioned above) in using context from my existing notes, and pulling in information from the web to create well structured documentation. A particullary interesting use case I've been experiementing with is recording either myself or myself and others with the AI note taker speaking through a process, or documentation we wish to produce, then asking Notion to turn it into a complete document ready for consumption by others.

Great wiki platform!

What do you like best about the product?
Love this all-in-one workspace for company/dept wiki's notes, documents, and lightweight databases, particularly well-suited for individuals and small teams. While it does scale reasonably well handling permissions may get complicated. Our team likes the AI tools and are very useful for summarizing and reformatting content.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Permission granularity & inheritance can confuse sharing
2. Limited spreadsheet‑grade formulas/rollup
3. Offline support is partial
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping me store all our policies, processes, etc in on easy to use place and that is user friendly for our company.

I am one with Notion, and Notion is with me. (Knowledge management, project management, tasks!)

What do you like best about the product?
Pretty much my entire personal and professional life is housed within Notion, and as its AI gets better, my systems just keep getting more and more sophisticate. I love how customizable it is. I know that can be a little overwhelming for people but it gets easier as you go along. And now that Notion AI can literally just build databases and systems for you, it's making things so much quicker and easier!

I am a creative, a consultant, a freelancer, and a business owner, and I was diagnosed with ADHD two years ago and am still figuring out how to organize my thoughts and tasks because my brain moves very fast. Notion is the first thing to really actually help, and the customization is a large part of ti.

Here is a rundown of how I use Notion:

Everything:
-Extremely detailed project and task management. I've built in automations within Notion and using Make to help keep things going.
-Knowledge management in the form of a giant notebook database. It holds thousands of things, from articles I've read and taken notes on, to random ideas, inspiration, bookmarks, definitions, deep research, etc. It might look like giant blob of data, but with some simple tagging and categorization, I am able to create incredible filters and sorts that frankly make my soul happy.

Small Business:
-Organize client data, assets, meeting notes, etc.
-Amazing project management. Can't say enough about this!
-Starting to build out client portals now that granular permissions are being added.

Personal:
-Task management, here, too.
-Recipes and meal planning; this sounds simple but with Notion AI I have created a really sophisticated system.
-Shopping lists, packing lists, pantry inventory, etc., many of which work with each other through references and workflows.

And man, Notion AI keeps getting better. If you tried it before and didn't like it, come back around. It was pretty lousy in the beginning but it's getting really good. The new custom AI Agents are FANTASTIC and just playing around with them has been a blast. I love that you give them a set of instructions, but what's more amazing is that working with mine, I have created a few workflow processes that it helped me refine. It's all stored in its instructions page, and now when I ask it to do a certain thing, I don't have to repeat myself over and over again. I can see this continuing to be a game changer down the road. It even can alter database content! From big things like adding content from multiple links with just a few sentences, to changing the colors of multi-select items or fixing the spelling of a word throughout a database, it's amazing.

Oh, and Notion MCP! The fact that Claude can read my Notion data is so incredibly helpful!
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of granular permissions has always been a thorn in my side. They have just started adding this, which is huge, but it's years behind where it should be. Notion has the potential to become an insanely good project management tool, but without sophisticated granular permissions, it's hard. I am waiting with baited breath for this to continue rolling out.

Also, I wish I could change the UI more. I would love more fonts and colors. The custom emojis helps a lot, but I spent hours a day on Notion and so the layout and UI is super important to me, especially since my ADHD craves a certain kind of order.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's laughable how long this list could be! Here's a short version:
-I hate the term "second brain" but it's pretty much what it is. My creative, problem solving, constantly thinking ADHD brain moves so fast that if I don't capture my notes, ideas, things to do, etc., they often get lost in the sauce. Having an easy to use, centralized, collaborative system is ESSENTIAL!
-As granular permissions roll out, it will save a lot of time for me when it comes to communicating tasks to collaborators and contractors with whom I work.
-It just holds all my everything. All my notes, my research, everything. I am knowledge worker and it is my knowledge management system.
-It integrates with so many other systems I use. When I look for new software solutions, if it doesn't work with Notion (or a tool like Make so I can connect the two), then I won't use it. Notion is my happy hub for everything.
-Notion AI, as it continues to get more sophisticated, helps cut down on busy work, administrative stuff, anal-retentive stuff that I hyperfocus on like changing the colors of things or making formatting changes, etc. Data analysis is starting to become a big feature for me, too.

Powerful all-in-one workspace that transformed how we organize our business

  • October 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion's flexibility is unmatched - it serves as our project management system, documentation hub, and knowledge base all in one place. The database features are incredibly powerful, allowing us to create custom views and relationships between different types of content. The real-time collaboration works seamlessly, and the ability to embed various content types keeps everything centralized. The template system saves us countless hours, and the clean interface makes it easy to onboard new team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
The offline functionality could be stronger - there's sometimes a delay when working without internet. The mobile app, while functional, doesn't quite match the desktop experience for complex page editing. The learning curve can be steep initially for team members unfamiliar with databases and relational features. Occasional lag when working with very large databases with many relations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solved our scattered knowledge problem - critical information was stuck in people's heads or across multiple tools. Now we have a single source of truth for everything from product specs to marketing campaigns to manufacturing coordination.
The biggest win is reducing founder dependency. By documenting processes and SOPs, our team finds answers independently instead of waiting on leadership. This is crucial with 68% of our team remote.
We manage our entire operation in Notion: product development, marketing tracking, ambassador programs, vendor relationships, and financial planning. The database features let us create custom views while maintaining unified data.
For a hardware startup transitioning to AI-first operations, Notion provides the infrastructure to scale systematically instead of reactively. It's transformed us from ad-hoc execution to process-driven growth.

Notion is your friend

What do you like best about the product?
I use Notion for absolutely everything—it’s replaced the need for Word, Excel, and countless other tools. Having all my notes, projects, and planning in one place saves me so much time. The integration with ChatGPT is also a life saver—whether I’m brainstorming, writing, or analyzing, I can do it all without leaving the app. It truly feels like an all-in-one workspace.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is that because I rely on it so much, when I don’t have internet access/when out and about on my phone only it can be tricky. There’s also a bit of a learning curve at the start, but once you get used to it, it’s absolutely worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the problem of having to switch between multiple tools for different tasks. Instead of using Word for documents, Excel for spreadsheets, and other apps for project management or notes, I can keep everything in one place. This saves me time, reduces clutter, and makes it much easier to stay organized.

The benefit for me is efficiency and focus. I don’t waste time moving between apps, everything is structured the way I want, and with ChatGPT integrated, I can generate ideas, draft content, or analyze information instantly. It’s streamlined the way I work and helps me get more done with less effort.
