Versatile Tool with Sharing Concerns
What do you like best about the product?
I found Notion to be a great place to bring in the output from various AI tools and keep it organized. It's a great center for creating a team space hub where clients can view an overarching framework for how we're working together. I initially used it to help with formatting issues from my AI, and it's excellent for organizing documents in a more visual way, which I prefer over my Google Workspace. I like that it offers a similar visual organizational experience to what I had in Miro, but it's more tactical and streamlined. I'm beginning to use all the integrations and am looking forward to learning more about its capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the access and visibility privileges not super clear, and it's been tricky getting that sorted. Sometimes people share with me more than they realize, and it can be uncomfortable. Improved AI capabilities could be better for navigation and understanding troubleshooting, as there's a lot of 'learning on the job' happening. Prompts and AI support would help for faster adoption. Also, the initial setup wasn't that easy, especially when it came to integrations and working within Notion, including the AI, it wasn't as seamless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me with formatting issues from AI tools and provides a great place to organize documents visually. I prefer it over Google Workspace for its visual and tactical organizational experience similar to Miro.
Consolidated Our Workflow, Needs Better Handwriting Support
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the relational database feature in Notion. It acts like a combination of Google Sheets and Google Docs, allowing me to track multiple areas of my life, including personal work and volunteer organizations. It's especially useful for managing things in a workbook style rather than a file folder system, making navigation and tracking much easier. I also appreciate the ability to use AI on top of the files I have, which adds a layer of utility. The user experience and AI capabilities were important factors in my decision to switch from Microsoft OneNote to Notion. The relational database makes it much easier to use, as it allows me to slice and dice information within a single interface instead of opening multiple files. Although I initially faced challenges in understanding and setting up Notion, the learning curve was quick, and now I feel pretty good about using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion's ability to capture handwritten notes is challenging. I really prefer Microsoft OneNote or even Samsung Notes for that. Moving to a new tool, I ran into a lot of challenges just trying to understand it, set it up, and use it. This is one major flaw that actually made me not use it earlier on. However, I came back to it because I couldn't find a better way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Notion helps me consolidate multiple tools like OneNote, Google Docs, and Excel into a single platform, addressing issues of having too many tools and mismanaging information while ensuring easy access across devices.
Easy Formatting, Powerful Integrations, and Everything in One Place
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy the formatting is in Notion and its extensive integrations. It's great that I can have notes, images, PDFs embedded, and databases all on a single page. Whether I want to get super granular or just go for an overview, it's not hard to find information. Notion keeps everything in one place and makes sharing with clients easy. The initial setup was very easy too.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to dislike. To get it exactly as you want it can take some finessing which can take some patience and curiosity, but I still consider that to be more of an asset than a henderence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion keeps everything in one place, making it easy to share with clients. I can have notes, images, and databases all on a single page and switch between detailed views and overviews without losing track of information.
Streamlined Note-Taking with Powerful AI, But Pricing Needs Work
What do you like best about the product?
I love that the AI component in Notion can design sheets for me and make what I'm writing clearer, which saves me a lot of time. It's really helpful for me, especially since finding the optimal format for my notes can be stressful and time-consuming. Notion helps make my notes look exactly how I want them to.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm really frustrated because, as a student and an educator, I have access to Notion through the education plan, but it doesn't include the AI component. There's no option to just add it on for a smaller fee, so I have to pay for the entire business plan even though I would have access to most of it already just to get AI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion saves me time writing and formatting notes by allowing AI to organize them, which is otherwise stressful and time-consuming.
Notion Runs My Business: All-in-One Notes, Projects, and Great Value
What do you like best about the product?
I run my business with Notion. It does everything I need including lead tracking, calendar management and best of all meeting notes (which were the bane of my existence before). It is also a great knowledge and project management tool and eliminates the need for a lot of separate subscriptions so it is a great value as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a bit of a learning curve since it can do so many things but it is worth the effort, and way better to deal with than bloatware like Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lead tracking, project management, and knowledge base.
Unmatched Customizability and Efficiency Hub
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Notion's aesthetic and customizability. It’s incredibly handy having the database views and automation features, which help me organize both work and personal projects efficiently. The use of databases, the AI assistant, and the calendar is just perfect for me to offload and access information whenever I need it.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only wish is that I could reference multiple databases in one database or view within Notion. The goal here would be to combine into 1 clean view a work and personal life balance hub to not have to switch between the two.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion saves me brain bandwidth by storing all my work and personal data in databases, so I can access and recall information whenever I need it.
Easy to Use and Great for Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and collaborate with others on
What do you dislike about the product?
It can get messy - such as if someone is making edits and you are at the same time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is making out whole team be aware of what is going on, the projects we are working on, and their statuses
Notion AI: Streamlined Project Management, Lingering Database Glitches
What do you like best about the product?
Notion AI has quickly become one of my most valuable additions to my daily workflow. It feels less generic of an AI tool and more like a workspace support, being able to summarize messy notes, create pages, and align meeting notes and pieces, which has been really useful and helpful. What stands out most for me is having it collect different pages throughout our very complex workspace, which has over five years' worth of documentation and notes. This feature helps us streamline finding single sources of truth. I also like how it helps especially with cross-functional teams or complex projects to create spaces and collect information. The meeting notes AI transcript and summary feature have been huge for meetings, allowing users to participate without the need to take notes manually. Additionally, I've heard positive things about Notion's support, which has been really helpful with any questions or understanding. One person on our team has built great onboarding tools for us, and Notion supports those for new members.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some other pieces like database management for our larger databases can be problematic. We do central task management and our meetings and events in one database, and with five years worth of information, even archiving it, we sometimes notice lag or issues with loading due to it searching and trying to find things. The integration with Jira has been a bit more difficult, trying to get views and sources of truth in both places.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the problem of a single source of truth for documentation and company SOPs. It greatly aids in organizing complex workspaces, summarizing notes, aligning meetings, and collecting pages, streamlining workflows and enhancing productivity, especially for cross-functional teams and complex projects.
Streamlined Client Management with Notion
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Notion keeps everything in one place, serving as a single source of truth. It helps prevent things from getting lost, and if it's not documented in Notion, it doesn't count, which has become part of our rule. I also like using the AI functionality that quickly takes me directly to where specific information lives in our database, so I don't have to search for it. The setup was very easy since I've got experience with it, and I also appreciate being able to connect it with Slack.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't really gotten to the email or calendar, spreadsheets could possibly be improved, but again, that could be anything as GSheets and Excel is a humongous task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me quickly access information without searching, centralizes everything into a single source of truth, preventing loss of important details. It uses AI to locate specific points in our database, making client management and engagement seamless.
Sleek UI and AI
What do you like best about the product?
The sleek UI and the generative AI features in-line. "Nosy" is also very helpful as a proofreader for my written work. I also love the AI meeting notes feature and use it frequently. Hope it is available in browser soon as that is the only reason I open the desktop version.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to the overly affirming nature of most AI language models (and especially ChatGPT), the AI search agent has a tendency to give inaccurate answers because it so badly wants to please the user. We also had a rough time migrating our knowledge articles from Salesforce into Notion, we had to complete a ton of manual work following to clean up the formatting of all articles and bring over missing content from many.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary reason our company moved to Notion is for the AI-powered search feature to make company resources much more accessible even while pulling tons of contents into it from multiple preexisting, disparate platforms.
