As simple or detailed as you need
What do you like best about the product?
I use notion almost every day. I used it while in University, and I still use it now that I work full-time. Notion is very customisable and the user interface is quite intuitive. I never feel too overwhelmed with the options made available to me (unlike using things like Asana, Jira, etc). I also like the community aspect of Notion, where people put up their own templates for others to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the search functionality on Notion could be better. Also, allowing us to format the text inside of tables would be useful too (for example allowing things like dropdowns or dates to be inside tables).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's my one place to keep all of my organised notes / thoughts / learnings. It allows me to be efficient at my job and keep track of things.
Create place for brain dumps and more
What do you like best about the product?
Both very powerful but at the same time gets out of your way and lets you work. Love that I can easily convert to pdf as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love a simpler "offline" mode for certain use cases. Databases aren't super intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very easy to categorize information. Cross referencing between different pages.
Notion to manage my life
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many free features that I can manage both my business and personal tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion is not as intuitive as I would like. Someone with little to no PM software experience may find that there is a long learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a real estate agent and I use Notion to manage my leads and transactions all in one place. It allows me to integrate with some of my broker's software so I don't have to enter information twice - saving so much time.
It's greatest strength is also the greatest hurdle
What do you like best about the product?
The customizability and the available templates to get me started. I love that I can take a template that is 75% of what I need and customize it. This requires that I have a clear vision in my head about my process, but when I have clarity, Notion helps me to achieve it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customizability and open-endedness are also the most difficult hurdles to overcome. If I do not have a vision for a process or a clear organizational structure in my head, I have to really commit to searching for templates and hope that I "recognize what will work". This can be particularly difficult for someone with ADHD.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is helping me to set up a Lab Electronic Notebook for research projects that are led by others in my lab group.
It is also helping me to manage my own projects by breaking down tasks, keeping track of timelines, and keeping project-related notes in one place.

One stop destination for documenting everything
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it is a one stop destination to document everything we do to pass it on to teams. I also like the ability to add comments and get a conversation going with colleagues on specific points. The ability to share link to a specific block of document is also helpful at times.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing I find hard sometimes is manually maintaining the docs. It would be easier if I can connect Notion with some tools we use to automatically fetch data and update accordingly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not everyone has access to everything we use. We use Notion to solve that problem my keeping the docs up to date from tools that have restricted access. We also use it to document software installations and onboarding for new developers
I use it for tracking my to-do list and task list and manage the workload in my job
What do you like best about the product?
The user experience is very good, all cards are drag and drop and feel easy to track the list of the pending items.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can have additional features and expand the functionality to have diagrams
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One central place where I can keep track of all the action items and issues to resolve in a dashboard.
Notion keeps me organized
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to personalize how I store, manage, and organize information on Notion sets it apart from other apps. Because it tracks exactly what I need it to, I use it daily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is that the original setup can take a while, as it is so heavily personalizable. It can be a heavy lift in the beginning to set it up to your liking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion solves the problem of project management, varied to-do lists, candidate tracking, people directories, and basic notes.
Easy and flexible
What do you like best about the product?
Allows you to start working very quickly. It is easy and intuitive and is designed to be shared and to work in a group easily. It's like making websites but easier than using Word. It's my go-to tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using databases, try to ensure they are not too large so they do not slow down. It is necessary to have a good internet connection as it does not allow for autonomous work locally. The export is not in a standard format.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a teacher and Notion allows me to create flexible and easy-to-share knowledge bases. I can include all kinds of images, videos, links, and embeds without having to worry about everything that would be involved in creating a website for this purpose.
Not opinionated enough for our use case
What do you like best about the product?
It's super flexible and can be adapted to many use cases. Our team found it easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Notion is super flexible so many possible ways of achieving something. We were looking to replace Azure DevOps so managing projects, backlogs etc and found we preferred something more opinionated that was designed with our requirements as a focus.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Flexible knowledge base and project management
Great one place for all docs, task sheets etc.
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using notion for all my design documents and task sheets. The best thing i like about it is the ease of writing a doc. Just one / and all commands are on my fingertips. Great way of tracking tasks in notion. I use it frequently for task tracking. It's really easy to implement and integrate with other systems. Our customer support team is the one who uses notion heavily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search might be improved a bit, a detailed searching on doc content would be amazing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great ease of writing design docs for engineering. Especially with all the code snippet.
