Fully Customizable but Steep Learning Curve

  • October 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Notion is fully customizable, allowing me to tailor the platform to meet a wide array of needs both in project management and personal productivity. The flexibility to organize many different projects acutely in the short term while also keeping long-term goals in perspective is unparalleled by any other app or planner I've used. Furthermore, I appreciate the large community resource available for templates and various types of tools, which significantly enhances my experience by providing a powerful toolset without a hefty price tag. Notion is not just a tool for managing individual tasks; it is a comprehensive system that can be molded to fit complex needs. This adaptability, combined with a rich community offering resources and templates, simplifies processes and boosts my productivity in a cost-effective way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found Notion to have a steep learning curve when I first started using it. Initially, I found it difficult to understand what it was designed for, particularly because I hadn't used a project management system before. This led to my giving up on it a few times before returning to it based on a recommendation from a teacher. Additionally, setting it up was quite challenging and required dedicated time as it felt like a very front-end-heavy process. Although I now find it smooth to use, I believe that having a guided tutorial on the hierarchy of organization within Notion would be beneficial for newcomers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to organize multiple projects in both the short and long term, which I've not found in other apps. It's fully customizable and offers a vast community resource for templates, making it a powerful yet affordable tool.

AI-Powered Note-Taking with Room for Improvement

  • October 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Notion's AI meeting notes, which efficiently listen to lectures, allowing me to focus less actively during tired moments and still understand the lecture content later. Additionally, I find Notion valuable for backtesting in trading with its nice databases and finance tracking with its useful pie charts. The freedom from cost is another compelling factor that led me to choose Notion.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it problematic that on the iPad version of Notion, the AI meeting notes stop recording when I go to the home screen. This disrupts the continuity of note-taking during lectures, especially when multitasking or switching between apps is needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to take AI-powered meeting notes in class, allowing me to focus less during lectures and review key points later. It streamlines my trading backtesting and financial tracking, with easy-to-view data visualizations.

Seamless AI Integration and Smooth Setup

  • October 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it was to set up Notion, particularly being able to import markdown files directly from Obsidian. The AI feature is incredibly useful, along with the organizational structure that helps in managing marketing initiatives effectively. The agentic interface that spans across projects also stands out, making Notion a tool I'd choose again.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Notion to have more levers and controls around the AI implementation. This would allow me to train models more specifically on subsets of data and then use those models where appropriate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to manage marketing initiatives from strategy to tactics, aiding business growth.
