Longtime Obsidian user switching to Notion
What do you like best about the product?
I used to be an avid user of Obsidian, a somewhat similar note-taking/knowledge management program but recently switched most of my activity to Notion because of a few things that make it much easier to use. The biggest reason I prefer notion is because of the built-in support for databases and calendars. Obsidian has this functionality, but it is only through the use of community-built plugins, and they don't always play nicely together. Notion's built-in database and calendar functions are much more versatile and easier to use. The other reason I prefer Notion as of late is how easy it is to share notes and pages with colleagues.
As far as the Notion AI thing goes, I've been using it to create study guides and outline reports. I like how it is able to draw from notes and files in your database/notes, but I find that it does not always provide accurate information or 'understand' the material (which is simply the nature of AI text generation, to be fair). I wish it would generate longer responses, or at least let the user specify how long they would like their response to be. While it is extremely simple to use, I wish that there were more parameters when imputing prompts.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I miss about Obsidian is now customizable it is as compared to Notion. Obsidian vaults are built by the user from the ground up and allow for a much more diverse set of functions. Another thing I prefer about Obsidian is that it is more individual-focused, while Notion is more team-focused. This is just a personal preference based on how I use the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a student, and I primarily use Notion to take notes in my classes, draft papers and projects, and collect resources. I started using the AI assistant feature to help me write study guides and outline projects.
Incredible All-In-One Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love notion because it has capabilities for every aspect of life. Work, personal life, home life, moving. Plus it's new AI feature has made it incredible.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is sometimes overwhelming because there are so many tool options with notion!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AI writing assistant has made it so much easier to complete work and not feel daunted by "starting the project". It's fast, creative, and reliable.

What do you like best about the product?
Notion AI's user friendliness, which makes taking notes easy and quick, I have everything I need to input information for class, revise and write up assignments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe it would be great if it were easier to access the different font texts, colors of text and the undo and redo button. If it were onscreen as you are typing it would make tasks easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I need to fix up text, like paraphrasing, shortening, lengthening, changing tone, improving my essays or just turning ideas into writing, Notion's AI capabilities have been a life saver and as a uni student it's the best note taker in my opinion as all I need to do is log onto the website and head straight to my note. It's very quick and easy to navigate so my class management, tasks and uni content has been positively impacted.

I am apart of a tech/development team where documentation and notes are crucial and notion helps with this

What do you like best about the product?
The aI is very convenient to use, however it is annoying how when you type characters it automatically scrolls to the top of the AI window so when you enter in a long prompt you can't see what you're typing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing to dislike it is a very big improvement over other competitors and the AI is conveniently implemented. Like I said before there are some minor issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use notion to double check translation for my Chinese language class. I also use notion to summarize scholarly sources so I can skim a large number of scientific papers quckly.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Notion to manage my daily projects. Compared to other software, Notion allows me more freedom to create pages and personalize them the way I want.
What do you dislike about the product?
First of all, I like the formula feature, which allows me to make more use of the database. But as a person who is not familiar with writing programs, I wish the formula hints could be more precise. Also, for those who are new to Notion, they may feel overwhelmed because they don't know where to start.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion AI combined with ChatGPT has saved me a lot of time in content creation. It used to take me days to come up with a topic, but now I can work with two AI systems to come up with a topic quickly. Also, when I need to make a report, I type out the general content and ask Notion AI to create a content table for me to clarify my thoughts.
AI writing assistant for user research
What do you like best about the product?
Notion has been great for building a research repository. It's handy for linking insights from interviews and bubbling those insights into evidence for bets. The AI writing assistant is pretty phenomenal for summaries which comes in handy at high volumes of research.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes more time to onboard to an organization than I would like. I also really dislike that I can't have the AI assistant write to properties on a page. That would save me so much time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a user researcher it's helping me maintain a good repository of knowledge. I'm working with the AI writing assistant to help me summarize work and continuously update what we 'know' about certain constructs and topics based on new inputs we add. It's helping us move in the right direction in that sense.
Reliable AI
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it offers the function to change the tone of an email. I have not been able to find another AI tool that has an accurate function for changing the tone of an email as Notion's AI.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes find it hard to "activate" the AI tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is helping me keep all of my tasks organized. I utilize the note-taking feature often and find it easy to store and sort through meeting notes. Overall, I feel as though I am more efficient and improved greatly in my productivity when I decided to use Notion.

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is wonderfully flexible. The ability to nest tables within tables, and pages within pages, is really helpful. The internal linking facility is great. The web import is fantastic for my use cases; it imports articles as text, so I can highlight and remix as I see fit. Finally, the AI is easily comparable to ChatGPT and in many ways I find it even better for my workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a steep learning curve. This means that new users may find themselves a little bit at sea. The AI is a paid add-on (although the pricing is not unreasonable). Like many such products, there is an ecosystem of ambassadors and associates, some of whom are helpful, but some are basically selling very simple templates for inflated prices. Not sure there is really anything that Notion can do about that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fact that the AI assistant is fully integrated with the note taking software is fantastic. I can draft something and have the AI tidy it up, or I can ask the AI to write a first draft, or I can ask the AI to suggest some ideas. It doesn't do the work for me, but it saves a load of time and makes my life easier!
