Google Docs + Google Drive + Sheets + Asana = Notion

  • May 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how customizable Notion is. I use it for work and my personal life. Unlike other project management tools, Notion doubles as a really useful note keeper. This is something that I have struggled with while using other apps like Asana which are task oriented. To me, Notion is an all in one. My team uses it for project specific To-do's, storing relevant documents and materials, notes, design system documentation, and questions. I love how in the mobile app you can take a picture and insert it directly into your notes. I found this extremely useful at conferences when I'm taking notes a million miles a minute and taking pics of presentation slides at the same time. I am able to create a page for the conference and a sub-page for each session I attended to keep all of my notes organized and easily accessible. I also use for my personal life as a journal and planner.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is the mobile app is very temperamental. It will randomly log me out and sometimes it is difficult to get logged back in. It also randomly shuts down sometimes. I started using the web app on my phone instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing and organizing every aspect of a project in one place with a team in 2 different countries. A benefit we have realized is that we don't need a super sexy software with all the unnecessary bells and whistles. One of our most used pages in Notion is a super long ever growing page sectioned off with every flowchart, general overview, question, and link we need and we love it. Its so basic but we find everything we need exactly when we need it and that is all that matters. I use Notion and Asana daily for different roles at work and I prefer Notion over Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want asana + google docs + google drive + sheets use Notion

An Upgrade from Evernote

  • May 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Notion is that it allows for subpages. This lets me organize all of my work in a much more effective way than I could in Evernote. Everything was designed to make myself more efficient and it makes it worth the money for the time I save.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they would have a tab so you could easily return to pages you recently made changes too. Without this, it makes it hard to keep track of things you were working on then switched away from.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me keeping meeting notes in the same place as my personal and business to-do lists and lets me share them with my team.

Love this product - better than OneNote, Google Docs, or Trello!

What do you like best about the product?
Design: it’s just vastly simpler than the alternatives
Flexibility: offers what you can do in trello, OneNote, and Google Docs and more. It’s just lightyears better
What do you dislike about the product?
Tables still seem a little basic in terms of calculations. And there’s an occasional UI bug. Not much to dislike though tbh
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recording my entire life in notion, tracking software roadmap and daily updates, trip planning, expense reporting
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it out!

Great Multi Purpose Tool

  • April 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion attempts to combine a lot of the tools that I use regularly into one - and it does a pretty good job at it! It's been exciting to have one go to place for all business communications and planning
What do you dislike about the product?
Because of all it can do, there was a bit of a learning curve for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this for to-do lists, for planning, sharing files and collaborating. This is not the first tool to offer these features, but one of the best to offer all of these features in one products
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They have a free option and it's worth giving it a shot

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is very fast and the UI feels amazing. I love that I can jump into taking notes and organize it right away. Team sharing and shareable URLs are also amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Android app needs work, it takes at least 15 seconds for it to load every time I open it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is now a place for everything, in one central location. Notion is great for organizing all of my team's documents for easy access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it for free to see if it fits your workflow! Then you can consider upgrading to a paid plan.

Extremely Useful and User Friendly

  • April 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This program is great for personal organization as well as group collaboration. The interface is clean and simple and there's a lot of room for customization. You can get great use out of this just by using their existing templates or by getting deeper into the features and designing your own.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could do with a bit more of a tutorial to help those who want to use the more complicated features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Personal organization
Project organization
Client notes organization
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It takes some time to get everything set up the way you want, but it is worth it once you do.

The Gift That is Notion

  • April 17, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion's a good space for, I think, your entire team to use and work on together. You can use it at the same time as your coworkers and all be adding in content; there are multiple forms that you can use for the information you want to make; it is easy to use and learn. I like how clean everything looks, how things are easy to move around and arrange, and it all looks very neat and tidy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, not much. Sometimes it's a bit slow to load, but I like the different categories you can set up based on what you want and how that translates to you making a cohesive and well put together schedule of all the things your teams need to do. So really, it can sometimes be slow to load. That's about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion's helped us put all in one place the things we need to do. What are others working on? Check it out over here. It's even better because you can link things easily - with my team, we use both Notion and Google Drive, so the hard copy we have in Google and the links we have in Notion so everything is collected and easy to access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a fun place to keep all of your teamwork and have fun icons to do it with, this is a good application to use.
