Abnormal Security - Great Results!
What do you like best about the product?
Abnormal Security has completely transformed our email security posture with remarkably easy installation and setup. The integration was a very easy click through which allows API access to our Exchange environment. Unlike other enterprise security tools, the deployment was intuitive and required minimal technical expertise to get running. The AI-powered threat detection has been exceptional, consistently catching sophisticated phishing campaigns, BEC attempts, vendor-compromised emails, and malicious attachments that our previous antiquated security gateway completely missed. Where our old system allowed countless threats to slip into user mailboxes, Abnormal's intelligent analysis blocks them before they reach end users.
Beyond outstanding security, the email productivity add-on has been a game-changer for our team. The feature automatically moves promotional emails and newsletters to a secondary folder, allowing users to focus on communications that truly matter. This has saved our staff countless hours each week and dramatically improved email efficiency. The combination of superior threat protection, effortless deployment, and genuine productivity benefits makes Abnormal Security an outstanding investment. Highly recommended for any organization looking to upgrade from legacy email security solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any tools false-positives do occur sometimes, but these have been minimal. The Detection 360 submission feature is great when submitting these false-positives to help train the tool for the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vendor Impersonation and BEC was a huge concern for us. The Vendor Fraud area has been great in detecting these impersonations and BEC's to reduce the risk of invoice fraud and phishing attempts sent to our users.
Valueable Tool for Email Security
What do you like best about the product?
The Abnormal interface is easy to navigate and use. The implementation was done in one-day (just a few hours) and we were able to access the results immediately. Customer support is responsive and knowledgeable. My customer success manager is fantastic. I'm in the platform at least once per day to check on critical components. There are a lot of features; a key area of focus is the threat log.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I have not found anything that I would consider a "dislike" and if I did, I'm sure that my concern would be addressed by the Abnormal team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had another email security product when I arrived at my present employer. I was not happy with the interface and functionality, so I looked at several vendors to replacement our current vendor. Abnormal was the best product for my organization.
Amazing!
What do you like best about the product?
We implemented Abnormal AI a few years ago. It took just a few minutes to setup. The best features: our complaints about Spam were cut down to almost nothing. The Graymail feature allows our staff to control whether newsletters are received to their main mailbox or to a promotions folder. The Support process is beyond stellar. If we've had issues they are very responsive and will either point us in the right direction or implement a solution on the backend. They continue to innovate the product. It is very close to a set it and forget it type solution that I usually only go into the management console when there is a new feature to implement. It has been an easy product purchase to justify to upper management.
What do you dislike about the product?
It works, and sometimes that's hard for our users to believe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Malware/Spam/Phishing attacks.
Rapid and Accurate Detection of Account Takeovers by Product
What do you like best about the product?
I've been doing SOC and IR functions for 5 years now, and Abnormal has the fastest, highest-fidelity alerts of true positive O365 account compromise of any vendor I've worked with in those 5 years, including MDO and Entra vendors.
ATO cases are quick and accurate. Vendor Fraud cases are quick and accurate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The API for sending data to the SIEM could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduce spam, alert on vendor fraud.
great tool for email filtering
What do you like best about the product?
A top-tier defense against modern email threats. Abnormal’s behavioral AI is incredibly effective at stopping sophisticated Business Email Compromise and vendor impersonation attacks that our old tool missed. It requires minimal tuning, and has drastically reduced our security team's manual review workload. An essential investment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The email search (360 detect) can be improved to make it faster and easier to use (in terms of UI, the layout of buttons)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
phishing and spam email. Abnormal has high accuracy rate than 2 tools I used in the past
Reliable Behavioral AI for Email Security That Actually Delivers and Much More!
What do you like best about the product?
Abnormal AI stands out for its advanced threat detection capabilities, particularly in identifying socially engineered attacks like BEC's and account takeovers. After dumping the traditional email security gateways for them e-mail security was all of a sudden interesting again because I actually had time to be proactive and not reactive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There truly isn't much to dislike. No product is perfect and all of them require proper attention and time. This one saves you both, but are still required. In this business there's unfortunately no such thing as "set and forget"
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Detecting sophisticated email attacks that I otherwise would not be able to detect with static analysis. They also support our cloud security posture by identifying compromised or stolen credentials and automatically remediating threats based on predefined thresholds and response policies. They also look at our known senders and advise if a vendor is undergoing a BEC so we can scrutinize those incoming emails a bit more, so threat intel as well.
Incredibly effective at stopping advanced email threats with solid accuracy and no tuning required.
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is clean and easy to use, and the threat insights are clear and actionable. What really stood out to me is how little configuration was needed—it worked right out of the box and integrated smoothly with Microsoft 365. Since we started using Abnormal AI, the number of email threats reaching end users has dropped to nearly zero, which has made a significant difference in improving our organization security and workload. I'm really impressed with the speed and detection accuracy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, it's a very solid platform, but there are a few things that could be improved. On very few occasions, legitimate emails get flagged, and since end users aren't notified or don't understand why the email was held, it can cause confusion. Better tools for reviewing and releasing these messages quickly would improve the experience.
Also, as a post-delivery solution, Abnormal can’t always act fast enough on certain threats like malicious calendar invites. For example, Outlook may auto-process an invite and add it to the calendar before Abnormal deletes the email, which creates a potential risk. Addressing this requires changing default Outlook settings, which isn’t ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Abnormal AI is solving the problem of sophisticated email threats like phishing, business email compromise, and vendor fraud. This has significantly (almost 100%) reduced the volume of risky emails our users receive, lowering our overall security risk and allowing our team to focus on other priorities with greater confidence.
Blocks All The Messages That Other Spam Services Let Through!

What do you dislike about the product?
The admin portal UI is a bit clunky and sometimes difficult to navigate. Abnormal makes frequent changes to the look and feel of the portal which sometimes causes you to need to figure out how to find what you want again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had major issues with previous spam filter providers of malicious and spam messages still getting through to our employees' mailboxes. Abnormal has effectively stopped that from occurring. This has been a major value add to our environment.
