    Financial Services

Doubles my Productivity

  • January 26, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to search a wide range of documents, quickly, and sort relevance - even when I don't know exactly what I'm looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of previews when populating search results - I often have to click into and load the entire document, when the 1 sentence context that gets highlighted in the 2nd from left panel is often all I need to identify is this the document I'm looking for, yes or no.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Investment research. Getting to conviction on an idea by understanding the history of a company. Makes me a better informed investor and helps highlight competitors, nuances, history etc. that I wasn't aware of.

Makes Finding a Needle in a Haystack Easy

  • January 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AlphaSense makes searching for a specific topic very easy across peer sets or industry and you can set up alerts to get notified as soon as something crosses the wire that meets your criteria.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have multiple alerts set up and something crosses the wire that meets several of the alert criteria, you will get duplicate email notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the pandemic, it has been very easy to search across our peers and see how they are responding to the challenges. In my opinion, AlphaSense is a great tool to make sure you are staying in the loop with what is happening across your space.

Simple but powerful resource

  • January 26, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Search across many types of documents and feeds. Search queries can be adjusted to target specific results, including and/or statements. Uploading outside documents to include in search results is also very helpful. My favorite tool is highlighting and commenting within documents, and then easily going back to review those highlights and edits.
What do you dislike about the product?
iPad app is a little weak, and does not allow for highlighting or commenting within documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to quickly search across multiple document sources and timeframes adds hours of productivity.

Review of A.S

  • November 24, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and powerful tools allow me to research faster and better
What do you dislike about the product?
Data extraction is great, but could be improved. Not all data is easily extracted. Also would be good if there was more financial analysis tools imbedded into the platform to go beyond simply looking up data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Competitor Intelligence and Market Intelligence
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Incredible tool, a great complement to Bloomberg, Factset, CapIQ or other financial platforms

Time Saving Tool

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy user interface that makes it easy to search for terms across time and/or industries. I also like the view previous tables/export tables feature. Makes it easy to build a model or backfill data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had more credit documents (indentures/prospectuses etc.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do credit research so being able to track the development of different storylines over time or search relevant trends and have alerts/searches automatically set up saves a lot of time and makes my research process a lot more focused and saves me a lot of time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product, highly recommended and a huge time saver. I would note that Bloomberg and factset have similar functionality (particularly factset) and it might be redundant to have both.

Amazing resource for research, case studies, benchmarking

  • November 18, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AlphaSense's smart search saves time looking for quality case study examples. The tool allows you to bookmark, highlight and annotate specific content, making it easy to revisit for further analysis. Relevance ranking is quite useful when comparing hundreds of filings, research reports, and earnings transcripts.
What do you dislike about the product?
(1) Tagging system could be improved. It would be nice to create a folder, Project A, and then save down relevant filings & research reports underneath that folder.
(2) When companies go public (e.g., via an IPO), AlphaSense sometimes has two separate company IDs for company in its first week being public.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Incredibly useful for finding examples for benchmarking company KPIs, earnings commentary, Wall Street Sentiment via Research Reports. Benefits include higher quality deliverables with more precise examples, and more efficient research efforts as the examples are easier to find.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A must-have for groups that provide targeted case studies.

Amazing smart search tool!

  • November 18, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All sell-side and independent research in one place and AlphaSense's smart search and synonyms makes it very easy and fast to research any company/sector/topic. Bookmarks, tagging, notes and sharing take it to another level. I find it particularly useful when researching materials for an industry/theme overview and write-up.

Also, integrations (FileSync, Evernote, etc.) are super-useful. Thanks to FileSync, which uploads files from our system to AlphaSense makes them 'online'. It enables us to use smart search across our library of compiled third-party research (imagine how long it would take to find a specific topic/comment across 100s PDFs opening every single one of them and using Ctrl + F? AlphaSense can do this in a matter of seconds!)
What do you dislike about the product?
Helpdesk can occasionally take long time to reply. Citi is not on AlphaSense yet, which is a temporary minus. Also, FileSync does not have an option to choose which file types to sync (right now it syncs PDFs, Word and Excel, whereas the latter is not needed).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consumption of research in a smart and much faster way without missing anything important. Bookmarks, tags and notes make it easy to save and come back quickly to my findings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it out!

Excellent Research Tool

  • November 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AlphaSense is easy to use, with features not found on other platforms. What I like, in particular, is the private company coverage, the tear sheets with comparison to competitors, the search functionality, and numerous other features. The number of companies is vast. Plus, they use highly reputable news sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot that I don't like. In fact, I can't think of anything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can find information on companies, including presentations by analysts and IR departments very easily. I'm often asked to profile companies. Alpha-Sense is perfect for giving me the information I need to pull an insightful profile together.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Something to consider as a replacement for more expensive solutions. Alpha Sense keeps up to date and is innovative.

Simply the best tool for the Investor Relations and Corporate Research professional

  • November 16, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Incredible depth of research over a vast amount of companies, with impressive coverage that's customizable to the user. The user can set up alerts, enabling tracking targets and competitors, delivered to my email instantly. The platform can be accessed online, regardless of device, and the mobile app is quite useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really no downside to AlphaSense. I believe that as the platform continues to grow, so will the data sources and archive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to track a significant list of company competitors on a daily basis.
Screening for specific companies based on my unique parameters has benefitted my peer intelligence and business development initiatives.
Tracking news flow, analyst opinion, and regulatory filings with ease.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend AlphaSense for professionals who require up-to-date information on public companies and industry research quickly and efficiently. Content that's easy to search and gauge in terms of relevance. Current pricing is at an extraordinary bargain, compared with hiring researchers to compile the same information.
