Great information aggregation platform, super helpful
What do you like best about the product?
AlphaSense is able to present almost all information from various sources (e.g. company, research, SEC, press) in one search. This is really helpful for anyone who's interested in triangulate info and look for source docs. What i like the most is to share the link to specific table/chart/paragraph, which make it so much easier to share and highlight relevant info.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. The key word search function can be improved. right now, it breaks phrases into words, and quotation mark doesn't work here like other search engines. But i do like the fact that AlphaSense can search similar words. For example, if I search "R&D", it also includes results of "Research and Development." 2. it would be great if we can search indexes as well, in addtion to companies. That way, people can see how many companies are relevant within a particular universe.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to see relevant info from differnt stakeholders. For example, when i review IPOs, i use alphasense to look for S-1, but also SEC comment letter. It's very useful .
Great tool for secondary research
What do you like best about the product?
I love the real-time update/alerts and the ease of using the tool. In my work, we are heavily dependent on quick and reliable secondary research, and Alphasense makes us efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall it is a great tool. However, I think it can still integrate a few more websites or paid sources that should make the research more exhaustive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidation of business-relevant information and a fast turnaround of business questions received from our customers.
Absolutely must have tool for Market Insights \ Business Intelligence teams

The combination of high quality research content and easy to use search features make it a absolutely must have tool for all business intelligence teams

Frequent and too many changes to the UI makes it hard to keep up with the interface. There are some new features you love but other you miss

We use it for Industry and Company Deepdives, Competitive Intelligence, Tracking of Peer companies to help us stay uptodate on key developments and provide inputs to corporate strategy and comercial decision making (Business Case, Opportunity Sizing, Competitor activities etc)

What do you like best about the product?
Seeach by keyword, sentiment analysis tools, ongoing updates, access to wide range of topics, including transcripts and IR reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! It is an essential tool that I use daily.

Staying ahead of market motions. Understanding sentiment of key clients.

Sometimes the odd document is missing or rendered badly. This is usually fixed when pointed out.

Looking for very specific information about companies. Speeds up the research process enormously
Great for competitive analysis
What do you like best about the product?
This is an excellent tool for competitive analysis. The user design is intuitive, the search options allow for customization (boolean search, intelligent search). The results are highlighted for ease of review. There is also a chat function with quick turnarounds, and the team is overall responsive and constantly looking for feedback and improvements. The export function for financial tables are very convenient (hopefully will be implemented for Cdn Banks as well). A big differentiator is its sentiment analysis features - it is a big plus for analyzing earnings transcript, and I'm looking forward to further additional features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes results that I'd expect to show up would be missing (e.g. company website has changed url so the engine wasn't able to pick up the documents in the results). Support team is responsive can provide a fix immediately), so for someone who expects to gain additional value from uncovering the unexpected results for insights, not seeing what you'd expect is a concern. This can be attributed to the users' lack of knowledge in boolean search strings, but as this isn't designed for expert users (and shouldn't be), I see further improvements in the relevancy of search results in the future. Having said that, in terms of search capability, this isn't going to overtake Google anytime soon, so don't expect too much. The "wildcards" don't always work as intended (e.g. I sometimes get more results when specifying a time range than not selecting one). Sometimes the exported pdfs have garbled results (especially when processing custom imported pdfs). Since only partial sentiment data can be exported, some users will have to accept the results as a black box and can't fully analyze the results. Also, browser cache needs to be refreshed from time to time or results might freeze (Chrome).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this for competitive analysis, the overall understanding of the financial industry landscape, and market sentiment. Having all the data accessible easily and the ability to upload custom documents is a huge time saver. If the search results can be exported easily without too much manual interventions and finesse, this would be huge.

Try it out. You'll definitely find some value for your research needs.
Great Tool for Research
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to search for keywords across industry filings, company filings and to save highlights within certain docs. Also, I love the see previous data feature within the filings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain file types are not on the platform (like certain credit documents), and sometimes the "see similar charts" feature is buggy, but other than that I love it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time savings tool allows for a more streamlined research process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn all of the features. It is a streamlined and intuitive interface, so it should not take too much time to do so.
Good experience overall. Pages have gotten a little slower to load lately.
What do you like best about the product?
Searchability including generic or multiple terms. Exporting financials to excel is quick and easy and really helps when building out an initial model. Alphasense also has transcripts out before factset and I find them more accurate often times, which is super useful right after a earnings call.

Load times and sometimes pages crash when searching within a doc. The default to showing sentiment I think slows down the page and I wish I could make the default be to have sentiment off.

Key word searches is the biggest use. Also exporting financials with the easy model export function is very helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Much easier to search documents than on FactSet. Transcripts come out faster than on FactSet. Also, being a cloud based platform, access from anywhere is much easier than on FactSet.

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to search for information. AlphaSense really lets you use targeted words and searches to best find the information you need. My favourite feature of the platform is perhaps how it will only show you sources that have your two words 10-15 words apart. This lets you get rid of all the noise that you get on traditional platforms like Google, and helps you focus on a single source better.
Another great feature is the ability to export charts/graphics directly into excel. This had made my life so much easier when copying over numbers, and it removes a certain margin of error which is exactly what I'm looking for in a platform.
The team is great as well, and has always been super helpful when I have questions.

What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of different sources can sometimes make it hard to find the best information, but this is honestly more of a pro than a con regardless. Some features of the platform can be a bit confusing, but the AlphaSense team is always ready on hand to give you a demo if you so need. Sometimes there can be a bit of noise on AlphaSense as well, so it's important to select the right filters to get what you're looking for!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easier to research and find niche information, especially on a certain industry. This has been so helpful especially when copying over information due to their export feature.
