Good data and excellent compatibility, a very useful RMS
What do you like best about the product?
AlphaSense has excellent tools for compiling and sharing notes with teammates. The content management capabilities are especially good in that I can creaqte notes with (generally) the look and feel I want to communicate the story I see as an analyst. Also, the plug-in generally works well with Excel for Mac, which is a massive, massive differentiator for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I say "good" data I am referring to basic data from the financial statements, but advanced ratios can be inconsistent and depends on the ticker. AlphaSense may still be getting its systems well-integrated in the wake of the Sentieo acquisition. Also, while the plug-in works great, having calculations for Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) yet no corresponding calculation for Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) makes little sense. These inconstencies can get annoying. Customer support has been helpful in answering my questions, however, even if fixes aren't immediately forthcoming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a research team we need a common repository of work that everyone can see and that we can track over time. That's the function of any good Research Management System (RMS) and AlphaSense fills the role. But it also goes further and adds financial data and a plug-in that's accessible to those of us who are Mac users. In a market where financial services software has been almost exclusively confined to Windows, this is a much-welcomed change.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to easily find information among a sea of sellside reports, filings, investor presentations, etc. is a significant time-saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform ingests so much data that there's some latency when running searches, which can be an inconvinience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I appreciate that AlphaSense generates summaries of earnings calls, which is helpful if I'm trying to get a quick pulse on a company I'm screening.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to find information about companies. I use it 2-3x a week and it is very helpful for my job.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislikes about the platform, it is easy to use.

It is using AI in order to summarize transcripts which saves me a lot of time.
Alphasense is great for monitoring multiple companies at a time in real time

The new bar that has to be removed by alt + D

Access information on clinical trials, review transcripts for earnings calls, and view earnings call presentations all on one platform.

Accurate, fast, comes out with updates frequently and they work

The excel plugin sometimes crashes and or takes a while to load, wheras sentieo did not

Document search and quick to reference financials. Also mentions in company transcripts to identify themes

1. Has a very broad catalog of research resources - comany disclosures, equity research reports, expert network interview transcripts

What do you dislike about the product?
1. It doesn't have a large financial database to compliment its Wall Street research section
2. Would be nice to have an indicator in the app showing how many more equity research report pages I can download. Right now I tend to guess as what my balance is

It allows me to quickly search a broad range of reports and news sources to quickly find the latest and most relavent information I need for my projectes related to market developments and competitive intelligence.

Everyday i am using Alphasense for news scanning in the healthcare domain
Not only press releases, investor calls, analyst summaries. And special reference to provide prompt transcript of health conferences.
No need to go through the company websites its one pit stop for all those alerts.
Any changes required, within 4 hours support system has resolved the concern.

With great power comes great responsibility.
With vast reach for every detail on a topic comes the unncessary information , that user has to look through.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rather than going to individual websites of different competitor companies for latest press release, alpha sense shares all the news alert into my inbox, which saves a lot of time.
AlphaSense should be in every consultant's toolkit to shape informed insights
