Simple to Use, Thorough Morning Digests, and a Great Media Contacts Database

    Reviewed on Sep 01, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It's relatively simple to use, works well with verbiage copied over from Microsoft Word, and has a nice database of media contacts to work with. We have not needed to use it for a ton, but we were kindly walked through all of its features regardless, and it has worked well when we've used it. I am not privy to how much we are paying for this service, but I understand that we feel we're getting a good value for it and have no intention of switching services.
What do you dislike about the product?
The homepage looks a little clunky, at least on desktop (which is the only spot I use it). It presents kind of a lot of info at once, and at first glance it's hard to see where you should be looking on a given page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater is how we send out each of our press releases, and it has worked just fine for use each time. We also have used it to bolster our media lists and search for media outlets that would potentially be interested in what we're sending out. We haven't asked it to do too much, but it has easily helped with what we've needed.

Meltwater Makes Media Coverage Easy to Understand with Powerful Reporting

    Reviewed on Sep 01, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Meltwater is having media coverage, social mentions, and reporting in one place. The monitoring dashboard makes it easy to keep an eye on specific topics and quickly see what is getting attention. I also like the way the results can be filtered and organized, especially when there are a lot of mentions to go through.
The reporting side is probably one of the most useful parts for me. Being able to look at reach, sentiment, coverage trends, and advertising value equivalency gives me a much clearer picture of how a campaign or topic is performing. The interface is fairly easy to navigate once everything is set up, and the visual reports make it easier to share results with other people. Meltwater fits well into my workflow because I can use the monitoring and reporting features to collect media coverage and then use those insights in our regular reporting process. I mainly use it alongside our existing reporting and communication workflow rather than relying on a lot of direct integrations. Being able to review reach, sentiment, trends, and AVE in Meltwater and then share those findings with the team makes the overall process much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are quite a few features and settings, so it can take a little time to understand the best way to organize streams, filters, and reports. When there is a large amount of coverage, the dashboard can also feel a bit busy. I think the overall experience becomes much smoother after spending some time getting the setup right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Meltwater, keeping track of media coverage and turning it into useful reports could involve a lot of manual work. Meltwater makes that process much more organized by bringing relevant coverage and social mentions into one place. I can quickly see trends, reach, sentiment, and the articles generating the most value instead of checking different sources individually.
From a performance and ROI perspective, metrics such as reach and advertising value equivalency are helpful when explaining the impact of media coverage. The reporting tools also save time when putting together updates for stakeholders. The platform has a lot of capabilities, so the initial onboarding and setup require some learning, but once the workflow is established, it makes ongoing monitoring and reporting considerably easier.

Powerful Full-Funnel Insights for Smarter Campaign Planning

    Reviewed on Aug 27, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The data and insights that we can gather for full funnel campaign planning. The data to tap on emerging trends, top content, top hashtags, top creators and publications to shape our campaign planning and strategy
What do you dislike about the product?
Given it pulls data from keywords, there is overestimation of certain social platforms that are text based such as X and under representation of video based social platforms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The development of Mira is very powerful to be able to get insights without having to comb through large data sets

Handy social media management tool, but the look & feel could be more modern

    Reviewed on Aug 05, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
A handy tool for social media management from A to Z, which you can also expand with useful extra modules that fit your company or industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
Look and feel can be more modern in my opinion. Very much text and a bit cluttered. More visual elements and modern UI would improve the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning posts across the different channels, overview of all incoming messages, and insight into the community

A comprehensive media intelligence platform that delivers actionable insights

    Reviewed on Aug 03, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Meltwater is that it brings media monitoring, social listening, and reporting together in a single platform instead of requiring multiple separate tools. We use it to monitor brand mentions, industry trends, and competitor activity across online news and social channels, and the real-time alerts help us react much faster when something important happens. The search functionality is flexible, allowing us to build detailed keyword queries that filter out irrelevant results. I also like the dashboards because they make it easy to share campaign performance and media coverage with stakeholders without spending hours preparing reports manually. The platform has become an important source of market intelligence rather than just a media monitoring tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up effective searches requires some practice, especially when building more advanced Boolean queries. During the first few weeks we needed to refine our searches several times before the results became consistently relevant. The platform offers a wide range of analytics and reporting options, which is a strength, but it can feel overwhelming for new users. I would also like more flexibility when customizing certain dashboards and reports for different stakeholders. Some experienced users have also noted that getting search queries right is one of the biggest factors in obtaining high-quality results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Meltwater, monitoring media coverage and online conversations meant checking multiple websites, social platforms, and news sources separately, which made it difficult to identify trends quickly or measure the impact of our communications. With Meltwater, we now receive real-time alerts, track share of voice, monitor competitor activity, and measure campaign performance from one central location. This has reduced the time spent collecting information manually, improved the quality of our reporting, and helped our team respond more quickly to emerging topics and potential reputation issues. Having historical data and consolidated dashboards has also made it much easier to identify long-term trends and support strategic decision-making.

Easy-to-Use Interface with Great Insights, But Slow Performance

    Reviewed on Jul 31, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The interface, it's easy to use and really helps me gaining valuable insights for my clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very slow when using it, UX/UI design is not really good. For example, if you have multiple saved searches and you want to scroll to the last one, you have to click 'show more' all the time. It would be better if you can just scroll down instead of having to click 'show more' 80 times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It really helps me to stay informed of my clients, especially with the alerts for saved searches. This way we are always up to date

Reliable Keyword Search and Flexible Article Sorting

    Reviewed on Jul 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I find the automatic keyword search function for articles published online in a newsletter format particularly positive. It's especially practical to be able to sort the published articles by reach, date, or other criteria. Furthermore, the search seems quite reliable to me, more so than Google Alerts or similar services.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system is not very customizable. Users have little control over many design elements within the program. For example, the date is displayed in a specific way, without the option to switch it to the American metric system. Furthermore, bugs occur frequently, which customer support is quick to fix, but which nevertheless do appear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can send an email to our member companies relatively easily (this takes about two hours) reporting on today's media situation and what is currently occupying the industry.

Powerful Insights with Room for UI Improvement

    Reviewed on Jul 24, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I find the custom tags in Meltwater very helpful, especially for tagging articles. The search settings also help me a lot, making this platform the only one we rely on for tagging articles effectively. I really like the media backlog feature as well. The analyze graphs available are a feature I particularly appreciate, as I often look for data to compare our clippings year over year. It's also useful to analyze our clippings month to month and see the share of voice against competitors and our own brands.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the UI/UX could be better. I am always using workarounds to select all articles or download all articles. When selecting all through Monitor, you can't tag all without scrolling through the entire set of numbers. It's really frustrating if I want to tag 100+ articles all at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater for tagging articles, media research, and trend research. Custom tags and search settings are helpful, and the media backlog works well.
