Meltwater is great!

Aggregation of news and social media outlets into one.

Some of the naming purposes are not very user intuitive

What do you like best about the product?
A powerful search tool that is incredibly useful in market research.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes awhile to onboard and not all the widgets in the dashboard can be shared with my executive team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With social listening, I can see conversations about my brands and our competitors. It gives me insight as to what types of promotions and conversations competitors are currently having so I can make sure we are be aware of the current trends.

We only use Explore for now:

- its hard to get into it at first when you are not fluent in boolean but the support is always happy to help (and there are courses you can take through Meltwater)

What do you like best about the product?
The customer service is top-notch and helps better utilize their products. Our account manager, Victoria is really the best and has gone above and beyond to make sure we are getting what we want.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is so complex that it's a lot to take in and learn of all that it can do. But this is also a perk, with the trainings, account manager's help, and time I think I'll really get the hang of it and really utilize it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The large amounts of data that Meltwater can pull plus the dashboard reports I think will really be helpful for our office. Also, my Comms officer will be able to utilize these reports as well. It will give us a better insight into our media data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It takes a minute to get your settings and reports where you want them but I think it's worth the weight and the hassle.
Social Media Neophyte Turned Pro!
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater helps me track analytics for clients that it would take me hours to find by myself! The options to save Boolean functions for re-use is also a great tool that I used everyday!
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes struggle to filter out repeated articles from press release blasts or Associated Press hits. The inclusion of these just makes it take longer to sort through my hits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm finding the obscure, smaller publications that I would never be able to find by myself. It also gives great readouts and reports I can send to my clients. I love it!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to utilize your product rep! Ours gave a great presentation at a Professional Development Series that really helped the entire team fully utilize Meltwater's entire suite of tools.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the color-coded calendar it helps to keep things organized when using multiple outlets. To have everything laid out and create multiple postings at once is super-efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I made a draft one time and it never showed on the calendar. I had to create a whole new post and schedule it rather than a draft. The training was also long and tedious. I was confused about how to get to the calendar at first as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I haven't used it too much yet. I just began when I started my new job in January. At my internship we used HootSuite but they're very similar so far. I mostly just use it for posting.

Some topics are pretty over my head. It would be nice to explain using metaphors to help learners grasp the concepts better

How to access the right data at a quick speed. Less time wasted scrolling through thousands of articles and more time reporting and analyzing data.

writing search queries is a little tricky unless used to it. would be great if get tips while writing search queries
