Stronger than Google Alerts, but expensive

What do you like best about the product?
The daily Email Alerts based on our search keywords are great especially as a social media manager I get them that are just based on social media posts. More thorough than Google for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is expensive, and while there are a lot of great features most of them require additional fees to access. With the basic subscription we are not maximizing the platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mel water really helped us when trying to gauge sentiment around Covid and events that were taking place when we brought our event back online in the fall, it's a great way to get a pulse on what people are saying and a quick format.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the multi-function aspect of the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really nothing that I dislike. Having used 3 social media management tools, Meltwater has been my favorite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not only the standard social media management, but also the integrations such as brand protection and media relations. The intuitiveness of the program is really great.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has been great to work with for both their social analytics as well as their ability to connect with media across the globe, giving our office the reach we are looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
Transferring our previous media connections into here as well as our previous templates of releases is not the easiest thing but once in there it was easy to use and adapt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the ability to send press releases to not only our local of media but able to find niche media contacts that we would not normally engage with. We also use their strong social analytics tools as well as publishing to get all of our social networks into one place.

can take time to load, page loses place sometimes so makes tracking tricky

Great tool, but not as intuitive or flexible as others

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to customize dashboards, to share pages I track with others in my company, and the option not to handtype in boolean. It is fairly comprehensive, I have just found other tools like Netbase to be more comprehensive and user friendly.

Also I LOVE the in-program tool that allows me to easily and quickly ask for help live along with search on my own.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could create a filter that removes a group. Currently I can only create a filter that includes a group. I also which I could layer groups without having to use the complicated boolean. I find that netbase allows both of these options and makes it significantly easier to apply and remove filters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am performing typical social listening based on a specific occasion or situation to understand what a consumer or user is saying about the product, category, etc. As well as monitoring response to a brand or competitor over time.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the interface the most but also find the advanced search filters to build a boolean string super useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Excess false positives (but they can be easily filtered out with aforementioned advanced search filters, so it's not a big deal)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to run the same search through different tools. It pools enough sources that it saves me time.

The generic reporting can be a bit lacking in insight - though this can be found through some manual intervention

What do you like best about the product?
It helps me to know, what is people said around my brand and determine my audience interests, demographics, and the influencers who shared and interacted with my brand.
What do you dislike about the product?
When we talk about sentiment analysis in the Arabic language, it has a massive amount of wrong sentiment analysis, and they need to work on that to be more efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps me to detect any buzz around my brand.
It sends me an alert about what is going on.
I can know about any crisis from the beginning to put me PR plan to solve it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are working with Arabic speakers, you need to get the AI technology to get more accurate results.

What do you like best about the product?
The unlimited searches and also queries are pretty accurate.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CSV export limits is 20,000 results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring brands and accounts for social insights. It offered great value in that regard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended.
