Meltwater is a great social listening tool for SBM's and non-profits.
What do you like best about the product?
I find the shareable dashboards most helpful when creating reports. It's great being able to send out reports that executives can interact with, without needing to log into the platform itself. I also find the price of the tool very reasonable compared to others.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was more Facebook and Instagram data available-- most insights are pulled from Twitter data, and that is simply not where most of our audience is active. I understand data restrictions may come from Facebook (now Meta) themselves, but it is still a downside.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Meltwater to keep an eye on what is being said about my organization at a more granular level, but also to be privy to the conversation around our industry as a whole. Being able to identify themes is helpful, and being aware of negative or otherwise questionable conversation related to our brand and industry is helpful in protecting our reputation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As with other social listening tools, sentiment analysis can be hit or miss. Everything else is pretty spot on and easy to implement, customize, and share out.

The issue of having a complete overview, you have to buy the engage module so that what is scheduled also works.

This tool can help with social SoV when compared to brand competitors.

For social listening, I wish the process was less time-consuming & delivered more finite results.

When dealing with client crisis scenarios (both through social and media relations) this tool allows us to monitor for negative-related conversations in real time.

I like how much you can customize your searches and filter precisely for what you are searching.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes without the help of a representative, it can be difficult to create a search for exactly what you're looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Meltwater, I can report on client/campaign successes and crisis management. I also like being able to compare coverage or mentions between timelines or comparing how certain campaigns performed against each other.

The workshops have helped improve the knowledge and use of Meltwater's Social Listening tool, which allowed us to improve our data analysis and reporting for our projects.

I would like them to have data from other social networks such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Kwai. The last two have shown growth in Latin America in the previous two years since the pandemic.

The training courses helped us learn more about Meltwater's social listening tool to get better data and information for our project reports, particularly those related to understanding audio consumption and opinions about video streaming.

I recommend Meltwater for its ease of use for users, as well as how to use dashboards and reclassify data opinions.

The accuracy of the tool to find real-time information using several keywords

The difficulty to understand how to search more accurate (in which place you need to put each keyword to look for a specific search)

Media searches & Social Media searches. The main benefit would be the accuracy of the platform in a customized period of time

I strongly recommend using the platform first and then having a training course with one of the executives, so you already have some doubts to clear with them

The query time period is only one year back. Limit the queries and the range of action of the tool.
