It was really user friendly and useful!
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has a good reach and makes it easy to add new media sources if they do not pick up brand mentions natively. The account support has always been good with Meltwater and we can typically resolve problems quickly. Meltwater has an easy-to-use interface that makes it simple to get started.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind till now while using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used meltwater for my secondary research. It collects a lot of data and makes our work a lot easier.
Great Tool, Probably a Bit 'Big' for What We Need.
What do you like best about the product?
The quick and easy access to journalist contacts and the ease of sending out press releases. Reporting/exporting is also good.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is a bit high for the frequency in which we use it.

Access to a media database.
Meltwater has an easy to navigate platform with attentive team members and a clean presentation.
What do you like best about the product?
The team members at Meltwater are highly attentive. They are always there to respond promptly and answer any and all questions we have about the platform or any changes we want to be made to our data. They are willing to explain things step by step, meet over Zoom and show you, and always check in to make sure things got done the way we wanted. The platform is straightforward to use, with a clean presentation that presents many options but is not too overwhelming. There are many ways to customize different searches for data presentation and analysis, and this customization makes it much easier to narrow in on specific things that we are looking for. The team members combined with the platform itself make Meltwater an ideal system to use to gather different forms of data in regards to media.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been times where a simple adjustment needed to be made, and I had to reach out to a team member. I realized after that the change was so easy and simple to make, and maybe I didn't look in the right places or explore the platform enough. Even so, Meltwater has many resources to help explore the platform, such as trainings, which should be taken advantage of. The platform is easy to navigate, but still should be explored by the user in an active way in order to fully understand it. This is moreso a critique on my end instead of Meltwater's.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Meltwater, we have been able to analyze different sets of data, for example, our audience following from this fiscal year compared to the previous year. We are able to understand the main outlets that reach our audiences, our growth in reach, and many other things that help us measure if what we are doing as an organization works. We are given access to several media articles that provide us with an idea of what is being said about us, if our reports are reaching media outlets and which ones, and to see how our competitors are doing. This information helps us understand why these numbers fluctuate when they do and to guess from the media articles that Meltwater provides what influenced those changes. There are an incredible amount of benefits from Meltwater that we are continuing to realize the more we use it. Aside from analyzing critical information in regards to audiences as well as what media outlets are saying, Meltwater is also a great way to find media outlets and/or contacts. We may even start to explore social media monitoring in the near future!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meltwater is easy to use with a clean platform and presentation of information. There is so much that you can do, and the options are only growing! The information that they can pull is incredible, and they make it look so easy. Their team members are a pleasure to work with as they are very professional, kind, and attentive. They are willing to set aside time even for the simplest of things to help you out. I would highly recommend Meltwater to those in need of its services.
Meltwater - A Comprehensive, Quality Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater offers a very comprehensive tool that allows our team to identify up-to-the-minute media and social media traction and the ability to understand its impact. The tool has been easy to navigate and best of all we have customized it to fit our needs. Also, anytime we have needed help, Meltwater's support team has quickly responded to assist us with our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there is anything we dislike. It does take some time to set up and understand how to navigate but I have not found it to be difficult and I certainly did not grow up in the tech age!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There have been many times when our Meltwater monitoring uncovers a news story or social media issue that we need to be aware of. Even though we have other resources, Meltwater many times catches it first and we can then use the tool to help us understand the reach and traction of what we are monitoring.

We've tried other services and Meltwater is the best!

Account team is very responsive; coverage insights are very helpful

The media database emails arent current. Broadcast is a bit slow sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to capture a lot of coverage, spikes in coverage in real time. Account team is able to update search terms for us very quickly - love that!
Meltwater has good reporting tools that continue to expand.
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has expanded their social listening tools, and continue to improve reporting. The interface is fairly intuitive, and organized around creating reports. The account staff are knowledgeable and willing to help with using the product. I like being able to export the base data layer and check the articles that contribute to the report.
What do you dislike about the product?
A limited number of user logins even though it's an expensive tool (not more expensive than competitors, but a big line item just the same).

We are able to demonstrate the results of our PR efforts.

What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like best about Meltwater is the platform's usability. As a public relations professional, every day is spent researching and finding contact information for the latest press send, and Meltwater allows you to intuitively build reporter lists that are finely tuned to your subject matter. If there's one thing I've learned about reporters, it's that they don't like to receive irrelevant press releases, so to be confident in who we're targeting with our sends is invaluable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite the platform being easy to navigate, it still has a few kinks that force you to be creative when using it. One of those is the "beat" filtered search tool. When trying to eliminate reporters that aren't relevant to the topic of your press send and separating by beat, it generates a list of reporters that all list that beat. Unfortunately, Meltwater does not have a way to pick beats you want to exclude. It would help if there was a feature to keep the reporters narrowly focused on the beat of interest and adjacent beats, but remove reporters whose beat breadth is much broader and not of interest for your reporter list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My everyday day-to-day work is almost entirely accomplished on Meltwater. It is vital to have an all-in-one platform where you can compose press sends, build reporter lists to send to, and then collect reports on coverage of your work. I'm not sure what we would do if we didn't have Meltwater, as it would require us to be on multiple platforms and constantly transferring information between them. Instead, we have a one-stop shop that make each day more seamless and efficient.
Clean, Clear and Flexible for our Needs
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Meltwater has a clean and clear interface, and that the platform is comprehensive of many different aspects of digital marketing (social listening, news analysis, publishing, etc.) It's easy to access all the information we need in one place, which is quite helpful for a small and nimble business.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now, I haven't found many downsides of the tool. I would like if Meltwater could include their audience analysis in the original subscription plan; that would be useful for our company but I'm not sure we can add it to our existing subscription. Otherwise, this is a great platform. Our representative is always available and willing to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are monitoring our news coverage, monitoring our audience, publishing via social and tracking progress on our social platforms. We are a new company, so monitoring coverage (and topic mentions within our industry) is crucial for us to get off the ground. Additionally, we have a small and nimble team, and having all our tools and insights in one platform is immensely useful. It allows us to be quick and efficient.

The lack of an AI to help develop better searches for me.

We can see where the conversations are about our brand and addressing developing issues. Most valuable is the ability to communicate better internally on what truly is an issue, vs. an anecdote.
