Kudos to the very supportive account management team
What do you like best about the product?
The support I received from the meltwater's team was superb in terms of timeliness, kmowledge, resource and solutions to our needs. Always reachable and teaching our team on tips and tricks, felt the pride and care from the meltwater team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Accuracy of data sometimes is tricky, but think this is a limit in the subscription we are on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've used Meltwater to help convert ourselves to a internal PR agency when we had to cut all the agemcy budget.
Good tool to visualize and monitor most social activity

The dashboards for benchmarking are good as well as the charts based on search data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of LinkedIn media is something I am not sure is overcome in other platforms, but I will mention it here. Overall my dislikes are the ROI of the tool for just social monitoring.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater's dashboard is great! It's understandable, easy to navigate and provides all the information we're tracking, all at a glance. You can then dive deeper into a specific area for more details and analysis.
From media monitoring to managing our online brand presence, we get the insights we need, real-time, easily and quickly, allowing us to in turn complete our reports and analysis accurately and efficiently.
Accessibility is also a big plus. Their support team and staff is readily available by phone and email, so if we ever need to change a part of our service or get assistance, we never have to wait.

What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't much downsides that we've encountered.
It can be a little tricky to get the hang of all the options at the beginning, but after using it a couple times, it becomes second nature. So I don't know if there's anything specific that we would say we dislike.
I do believe that the pricing could be improved for smaller, non-profit organizations making its services more affordable especially considering the impact of COVID-19.
Regardless though, we do feel that the ROI is significant.

Media tracking, share of voice and social sentiment are all things that are tricky to measure, especially in Belize where data on viewership, ratings, etc. is practically non-existent. However, with these platforms increasingly moving online, we can better track performance of our content and assets with Meltwater. It helps make our reports more accurate and easier to complete (less time consuming).
Additionally, we can see which media houses and journalists are relevant to our work, enabling us to build more effective media relations not just locally, but internationally. This is a big area for us, as we don't want to miss any opportunity to help build relationships and exposure especially since the resource we work to protect is shared.

Arrange a meeting or presentation. Actually seeing how it works, being able to interact with the service and the people are good indications to see if this is a fit for your needs. We had specific priorities and the Meltwater team was able to work with us and customize to better meet our needs.

Meltwater's sales staff can be a bit aggressive.

We're showing our board and executive team how media exposure is a great force multiplier for our marketing efforts, and demonstrating the value of news coverage in developing and maintaining awareness of our facility and efforts.

Meltwater is more user-friendly than its competitors, and its people — while I point out how aggressive their sales people can be — are very, very supportive of their customers.

Daily updates help me stay on top of the relevant news and trends. I share these daily with my team.

I struggle finding new ways to use the tool. I know there are resources, I just don't have the time to play with this valuable tool as much as I would like to.

Distributing press releases, identifying new relevant news articles and trends in my markets. I look forward to find more uses for the service.
Just about as customizable as you could ask for!
What do you like best about the product?
I am a current user of Meltwater, and I like that it tracks both web hits as well as broadcast hits. I also like that it has a scoring factor for publications, so that you can track the truest impact of each placement, rather than just raw totals. The customer service is also superb. Any question that I have, my account manager is always willing to brainstorm with me either over Zoom or through email, and the chat function is also incredibly supportive. It is a fantastic monitoring tool, and if you work with your account manager, can be a very great data collection tool as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a true reflection of all of our media hits. It does not include impact of print pieces and some of the radio stations in Minnesota, it does not track. Although we do not use the sentiment feature for any data collection, it is more often than not, incorrect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem we are solving with Meltwater is how to measure the impact of our media relations efforts. For the first time, we are able to set annual objectives to strive for each fiscal year based on previous years' data. We are also able to pull quick data on various media outlets to determine whether or not they are good fits for media pitches, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend determining if your organization really wants to use this data before investing in it. If the organization just wants media monitoring, you can get a sub-par job of that done through Google Alerts. This system really lets you dive deep into analytics, and an organization should invest both the time and money into making it useful tool if purchased.

Meltwater is a LIFE SAVER
What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can go in and type up content that you want to post and then assign it to be reviewed. This not only saves us time but is also just so easy to have everything in one place.

I can't say there is anything I dislike.

With meltwater, we are able to see what we have planned out for social every day of every week. That way we know that if we need content on one of our social platforms, we can find something to post instead of not knowing since it isn't laid out in front of us and having nothing to go out. This has increased the traffic to all of our social platforms and continues to improve each month.
