We are able to share stories on our social media pages within days of getting the news stories as well as complete research and add information to our database.

What do you like best about the product?
My usage of the Meltwater platform has been solely with the Engage portion and it has been a wonderful overall experience. The ease of the platform is one of the best things. There have been times when I am on a deadline and I can pull up reports on a specific topic or campaign and it was helps drive my points with upper management. The customer service we've received has been amazing. Meltwater really listens to my concerns or if I get stuck they are quick to respond with a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only "complaint" is that there are quite a bit of features and some allow you to create a very in-depth report. Which can be a little time consuming but can definitely come in handy when you need a more detailed report to present.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Meltwater Engage I have been able to easily provide sponsorship fulfillment reports which were taking me quite a bit of time to produce manually through the regular Facebook analytics. Now, I'm able to produce them at a moment's notice and I'm confident they'll convey just what I'm trying to present. The tracking of each individual platform allows me to see which social media platform needs a little more of my attention.
We've tried them all, but this is the best.
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has all the information that we need, when we need it. If something is missing, we have a direct contact to reach out to and they always respond and add our new sources same day. The customer management team is suburb and the platform itself is easy to navigate and user friendly. I'm not tech-savvy, but Meltwater is intuitive and helps call out important things with the customized and targeted notification emails.
Plus, you're able to set notifications for everyone on your team so you don't have to be the middleman. You can set up the platform to send each team member the news and social alerts that are relevant to their role without them all having to use the platform themselves.

What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite thing is how often our account manager reaches out to schedule sales calls. I love all of the new features and services they are adding to the platform, but I will reach out if/when I have the budget to upgrade. I also don't like that I have to login every time I go to the site. I don't have this problem with the app, but the website will not allow me to stay logged in no matter what I do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Meltwater to monitor various news topics and keywords. There is the added benefit of social listening since we are able to save new searches and social searches. Meltwater also help improve our reporting with their simple custom dashboards and increase employee efficiency with personalized notifications that ensures we never miss a beat.
We are also in the beginning stages of planning influencer events and their influencer targeting feature has made it so much easier! With things changing so frequently due to COVID-19, it is essential for us to have the flexibility to use these features whenever we need and not pay each time we need to update our influencer list.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the search functions and the ability to edit broadcast clips.
What do you dislike about the product?
The clips expire after 30 days and Meltwater doesn't pull enough non-English sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Media scanning - Meltwater has made this process easier.

having to manually add articles that aren't captured (but I like the feature), the fact that you ahve to pay extra for a service to access articles behind a paywall

What do you like best about the product?
At our nonprofit, we had a really difficult time managing our social media and press outreach needs (and associated reporting needs) with a small department of three. Meltwater offers an invaluable repository of press contacts along with simple list organization and easy in-platform outreach.
We also love the tools for social listening and reporting. Meltwater also makes it very easy to receive alerts whenever our organization is mentioned in the news - not just our exact name but also our URL. We are just beginning to discover the value in some of the other tools, such as competitor tracking.
Meltwater support has always been helpful, too. It's great to know that we can reach out and contact a real person if we have issues or small questions with the platform. Our account managers have also gone above and beyond to help us set up the features we want and need to use on a daily basis, such as more targeted reports and daily email report summaries for our key stakeholders.

Some features aren't in place yet, such as the ability to add general newsroom contact emails to press lists along with individual reporters.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great value - but you need to invest the time that it takes to make the platform work for you. Don't expect it to be a one-stop shop that doesn't require any configuration or fine-tuning.
Meltwater is a great tool to track media

I can preset what I want results on and it will sum it up for me to scroll through and create my smaller report.

It sometimes grabs from questionable media outlets.

Being on top of the media for all insurance related articles

It is a great tool to do Media Monitoring and generating a nice report that you can email out to your team.
Intuitive, Smart, Customer Service-Centered
What do you like best about the product?
We find the analytics abilities from Meltwater to be very thorough and exactly what our clients are looking for. There is a lot of flexibility in pulling results together.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to compare year over year of results within widgets or analytics has been a bit limiting, but not catastrophic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to give clients insight into what their competitors are doing by using the search streams to do competitive monitoring of media coverage. We've also discovered an entirely new set of influencers by being able to search keywords to see which editors are writing about particular topics, or looking at an editor's recent work to see if our topic has already been covered.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the customer service aspect of any media monitoring or database company - the more they know, the smarter you will look to your agency and your clients.

What do you dislike about the product?
Wish there was more reach - would be nice to have a Reddit or Blog placement that Meltwater hosts as a place to post the content. Would also appreciate, perhaps your writer penning an article for you content website about the press release.
