Meltwater is a great tool for internal use
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a great tool for monitoring and reporting. What I like best is how user friendly and easy the platform is for us to go in and monitor and create reports as needed. However, should we need any assistance, the customer support is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Meltwater is that sometimes to get the most accurate results, you have to go in manually and make adjustments accordingly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Meltwater we are able to show our PR results to our larger team. Since this is often a challenge in PR, this is a great tool to support our efforts and for our colleagues to understand our success.
Multipurpose media tool
What do you like best about the product?
Love that I can create media lists and look up contact information, plus send out releases and analyze their performance after distribution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some outlets/contacts can be out of date so I like to double check online and through social media.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater is really comprehensive when it comes to building media lists and being able to send out pitches and releases either right from the site or through my own email.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch the training videos, practice and play around with all of the features. The icons and toolbars aren't intuitive at first but it's a simple platform once you get the hang of it!

Coverage doesn't always come through....
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reporting, media list building, coverage scanning, share of voice and competitor analysis.
Great support, truly understand your needs
What do you like best about the product?
The client support team at Meltwater is the indistry’s best. They understood my business needs, constantly sought for ways to improve and exceed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited ability to hone in on specific publications in reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Media tracking, targeted press release distribution.

Great PR Analytics tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can see all of our media hits in one spot, and I also love the tools for creating lists of influencers around specific parameters. Incredibly helpful for building new media lists!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are tons of options and capabilities with this tool that I haven't even used yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to create a very accurate picture of our media hits, and the tool is easy to use - very user friendly. I like the capability to search by outlet or by specific reporter. Meltwater also makes it easier than ever before to create influencer lists that can easily be exported. You can create lists by reporter beat, geographic location, or type of outlet (i.e. print, tv, radio, and even blogger). I have yet to use the social media monitoring, but I'm sure that tool has plenty of value that I need to unlock. In the next few months, I hope to work more to customize my dashboard and research all the Meltwater capabilities at my fingertips. I would also like to add that the customer service is amazing. they routinely check in just to make sure you understand how to use the products and to walk you through new features. Couldn't be happier with them.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how it sends a daily report of all your media mentions right to your inbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disklike how it can be difficult to add or make new lists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to see each time my clients’ name is mentioned in the media and what people are saying about them.
Helps me stay on top of my client’s news
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to crate custom queries using advanced keywords.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is manual and adding and subtracting names from a list can be tedious. The format doesn’t help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to track current events for my book of 60+ corporate clients. When an acquisition or a product release happens I can learn about it first.
Efficient news collection
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater made it easy to find every time our industry was mentioned and stay on top of our reputation, as well as send those articles out to people who needed to know about them. The customer service was easily accessible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, creating search terms was complicated which meant I had to sort through a lot of irrelevant articles. There were also a lot of smaller newspapers that were not included in Meltwater's search, which was difficult since we had branches in many small communities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our upper management wanted to stay informed about issues without spending large portions of their day scanning news sites. Meltwater allowed me to easily create a daily newsletter for them.
Quick and Deep
What do you like best about the product?
It's one of the faster solutions on the market - letting you run complex queries without a whole lot of chug time. The data exports can take a bit longer, but provide much richer data than the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inconsistent customer service - it wasn't always easy to get a hold of our rep or get a sense of what features were becoming available in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rich data into conversation history, key participants, tone, topics and audience share (through their data exports)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The interface of the product is OK. If you want to go deep on their data - be prepared to deal with their data exports vs. their dashboard.
Auto shares of our media content
What do you like best about the product?
We have setup our Meltwater client to share media content each morning with our administrators to give them an update daily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, content is not related to The University of Toledo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Media monitoring automation. Prior, members of our staff would have to manually send out this information daily.
