Great Customer Service and Training
What do you like best about the product?
In the short period of time we have been customers (2 months), we have received excellent customer service and training on the platforms we have purchased. Attention and response have been key with our experience and it has been excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few items within the platform (Engage) that were explained to us during our multiple sales calls that would be part of the experience, but we are finding now as customers that they actually don't exist. For instance, monitoring Facebook ad comments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smaller budgets and consolidating how many vendor contracts we have. Where the opportunities are to merge efforts - PR + social being a big area that Meltwater solves for within our organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to ask a lot of questions and really learn the product before you purchase. The team is very knowledgeable and really care about the product.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a quality service that delivers on what they promise. The new interface is excellent. It's easy to generate custom reports and integrate results into our dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to take advantage of more services, but the pricing doesn't allow it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Strong analytics and reporting. I'm able to analyze the performance of my team and accurately report on our media relations efforts. I'm able to report to our board and others on our performance and show the success we're having.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to know what you want from the product and how you're going to use the information. No point in paying for information that you're not going to act on.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very user-friendly and the platform is speedy, especially compared to Meltwater's older version.
What do you dislike about the product?
The media contact database could be cleaned up significantly. Some articles don't come across in the Inbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're not really solving any problems when it comes to Meltwater. The benefit of the platform, however, is the ability to deliver reliable media reports for our clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool for analyzing, monitoring and targeting media, however, you can not send wires releases in the platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Automating the media monitoring experience is great. We're too busy to Google ourselves and try to keep up!
What do you dislike about the product?
Putting in negative keywords can be very time-consulting, and the platform takes a long time to process this information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You get out what you put in. A great tool of you have time to manage it, as it can save a lot of time.
Great for making analytics reports
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Meltwater is able to catch press that Google alerts does not. Also, the graphics and charts in the dashboard are great for making analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the meltwater service is incredibly pricey.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Picking up press mentions in rural, small markets. It picks up far more than Google Alerts.

Advising clients of news and metrics of print media. Have been able to expand reach into client relationships which generates more income.

Ability to define complete, meaningful searches is critical.

What do you dislike about the product?
-The print tracking service is horrible. It barely caught anything and even missed the Washington Post
-Broadcast tracking service also misses many hits
-Some confusion with picking up duplicate stories. Duplicate stories with different headlines will count as unique hits
-The influencer search is missing reporter contacts (compared to Cision)

We like being able to show more stats such as ad value and reach. Also beneficial to be able to do reporter contact searches by topic, etc
Reliable Product!
What do you like best about the product?
The daily emails are very helpful and generally include all of our news hits.
What do you dislike about the product?
The media database could use some updating. There are a lot of outdated/missing contacts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater allows us to capture our news mentions easily. The system captures more than simply using Google Alerts. There are sill some outlets however (the ALM network in particular) that are not captured.
Pretty good media monitoring platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to track media coverage for our company and our competitors. I like that we are able to set up automatic emails with media coverage updates daily. It is pretty easy to use, and they offer a lot of charts that we use for reporting to our leadership. They also have a wire distribution service that we use , which is also very simple and user friendly. Their customer service is also pretty good and they get back to you quickly if you have any issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that the media contact database isn't as updated as it should be. They are missing a lot of key publications and media contacts. I often have to do the work myself outside of MeltWater to find new media contacts. They are willing to add new contacts if you flag it for them, but I run into this issue so much that I would be asking them to update their media database every week. I prefer MeltWater's competitor, Gorkana, but it comes at a much higher price.

Easy tracking for media coverage and reporting purposes, in addition to wire distribution.
