Review of Meltwater Product Software
What do you like best about the product?
When I send out press releases I'm able to see which contact actually opened the email and how long they looked at it. I also like the ability to search for different media contacts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the media contacts aren't always the most useful or up-to-date. For example, I've had numerous experiences where I'm searching for a contact and the only email on file is info@ or tips@, and those aren't very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall, as an association we have some diverse needs. Meltwater is most helpful when I'm putting together a press list in a specific area of the country -- a list that I would only use once -- and don't have time to do individual research on reporters. Instead I can just search for them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meltwater is an up-and-coming software that has a lot of potential. It continues to improve, and overall is a useful tool.
Fantastic 1st Year
What do you like best about the product?
The customized reporting and timely alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing currently that we dislike about Meltwater.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us, we mainly use the tool to monitor media coverage. With so many locations, spanning over the United States, our daily Meltwater reports allow our team to stay on top of positive and negative coverage.
Great service and product
What do you like best about the product?
The product is very reliable with sending over alerts. Our account team at Meltwater is proactive with making changes and always willing to support us.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some alerts coming through that we do not need but our Meltwater team was quick to get these removed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With over 300 properties now in our portfolio, it would be impossible to monitor the media without Meltwater's services and dashboard. We want to be aware of what is going on with our properties so residents know we are informed and care.
Excellent customer service from Meltwater account team
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like best about Meltwater is the excellent customer service the team provides. They don't just sell you the product and leave you on your own; they are there to provide any support needed on a timely basis. To me, that is a differentiator among its competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of bounce backs from incorrect reporters (I know these change constantly but still...). Also would like data (ie names, emails, results) and coverage of opinion page pieces and Society type pieces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to share results to my leadership in various measurements ie hits, potential circulation, AVE is very valuable.
Meltwater always keeps us on track with the results of all of our campaigns
What do you like best about the product?
I love how simple the interface is and how easy it is to use. Additionally, whenever we do have questions, the Meltwater team is so quick to respond and help us out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like the articles can be filtered through more thoroughly to provide a more robust report. Often times, the articles that come through on the report pull through irrelevant articles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to pull great reports for our clients that gives them a good overview of the media placements the campaigns we've created for them get.
Good
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to track news articles and how it can tell you your advertising value.
What do you dislike about the product?
That you can't make list longer than 500 people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to monitor all our news stories
Meltwater review
What do you like best about the product?
The Meltwater tool has helped streamline our media monitoring, media outreach and social media management activities. The tool is intuitive and the support team is very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The clunky feature now is the broadcast clip view -- which I believe they are working to fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing the time required to produce regular media monitoring reports we can share with the organization. Embedded video clips make monitoring easy. Built-in analysis tools make reporting on our activities even easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool.
Meltwater experience
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is relatively intuitive and allows for quick deployment of releases and a good accounting of responses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the WYSIWYG functionality doesn't work as well as I'd like it to, with glitches in the coding, especially when you are copying from a word document. Also I miss how the old version allowed for more rigid templates. It makes it harder to incorporate our brand guidelines of spacing, indentation, etc. into releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an easy way to scale out releases, particularly to new journalists that I don't already have working relationships with.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There needs to be more flexibility to create templates that fit specific brand guidelines. Having the releases be mobile optimized doesn't help as much as most journalists are still reading on a laptop or PC screen.
