Review for Meltwater News

  • May 11, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of options for Meltwater. With it, I am able to construct and organize lists, export lists and send messages directly through the database. I also enjoy that I am able to easily share lists with my coworkers while still using our separate Meltwater News accounts. The staff at Meltwater have been extremely helpful. If I am having a problem, I am able to email them and receive a quick response. If they don't know an immediate solution, they send it to their tech team and walk me through the process. I have received a few negative emails from recipients I emailed through Meltwater over the year but these rare occurrences were quickly and professionally handled.
What do you dislike about the product?
The database will slow down substantially will working on bigger projects. This can cause all work to be lost or otherwise delay work. It's also difficult to determine if the maximum number of contacts have been reached for a list. An error message or warning would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to reach journalists in specific areas of the country or that perform a specific job. Instead of sending to a random list of anyone in journalism, we are able to efficiently target recipients. Using Meltwater, we have been able to communicate better with journalists outside our old lists of contact. This has increased awareness of our organization and what we have done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We have Meltwater News because it works best for our organization. I recommend upgrading if you need more media tracking and analytics. We did the trial of their upgrade and everything was great. Talk with your sales representative to figure out what will work best for you.

Average Tool for Aggregating Coverage

  • May 10, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater gets the job done if you're looking for something to do a cursory pull of coverage related to your company or client.
What do you dislike about the product?
I often run in to technical difficulties when trying to download archives with more than 1000 hits, and I actually had to convert back to the older version of the tool because the new one wasn't working properly. Often pulls in spam, and it's necessary to filter out a whole lot of sources in order to get a clean data set. Even then, it takes a while to update if you change any of the settings/sources. There are occasionally issues with getting support in a timely manner, and in a couple instances I had to send follow up emails before someone finally responded. Circulation/impression numbers also vary quite drastically from other industry-best tools, such as Compete.com or SimilarWeb, so we've run into issues there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to pull large volumes of coverage related to our client and two primary competitors, allowing us to save a bit of time and money because we don't have to dedicate a person to manually conducting those searches and logging coverage. That said, once we've pulled aggregate data, still requires substantial human element to uncover insights and key metrics to report back to client.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would only use if you have basic needs for media monitoring. Deeper analytics would require another tool and/or a skilled analyst behind the tool to interpret the data.

Satisfied

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
tracking key words across and keeping a close eye on what people are saying about your brand and specific events we run.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expensive for what you get. Doesn't seem to be a mobile application.

Some key words are not picked up which is frustrating.

Support can sometimes be unhelpful and slow in responding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Engaging in conversations. Monitoring what is being said about our brand. Tracking reviews and our 'social media champions'.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a tonne of options out there. Take your time and consider them all. There's plenty to choose from and lots of deals to be had.

There are even many free / low cost options to be had so try a few different options on a trial period and see what works for you the best.

Average experience. Moved away and wouldn't come back.

What do you like best about the product?
Generally very affordable. The sales reps are warm and approachable.

Pretty easy to use and fairly straightforward to setup and to navigate,
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of customer service. Very sales driven organization. Sometimes I feel like making the sale was more important then delivering value / what was promised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dealing with key issues and complaints.

Promoting specific events. Hootsuite could be a better alternative though for the price tag / value it offers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out the vocus group or hootsuite. There are a number of options out there. I feel as though we jumped for the very first option without enough shopping around,.

They're also very keen to drop the price and offer you a great deal so woth bearing in mind if you're after a good deal. Wait to the months / quarters end,

Great tool to stay up on news and distribute to employee / external audiences easily

  • May 02, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The customer service in recent months has been great. I worked with Lauren and she really went above and beyond to set me up with a few additional services she new could benefit my organization. A newsletter service and newsfeed that plugs directly into my company website. Both these tools save me a ton of time each week and help me keep PR wins communicated with my organization and even external audiences - customers / website visitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price sometimes feels like it was designed more for PR agency usage, making it a little more difficult to swallow for an internal PR orgs at smaller companies. But Meltwater has been understanding and flexible on price. If they weren't I wouldn't be able to stay with them as my PR agency has the service as well so harder to justify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Need to quickly and easily share news across company and to external audiences. Needed to cut back on manual efforts and automate a lot of this. Meltwater makes this easy.

What do you like best about the product?
Radarly is an ergonomic and easy-to-use tool that makes possible for us to get connected in real-time to many different, heterogeneous sources. The UX is modern and intuitive. Besides, we save a lot of time thanks to the reporting feature that offer exports in Excel files.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the beginning, I didn’t understand the view showing project volumetry because I found it not really intuitive. Yet, everything became clearer thanks to the explanations of my Account Manager.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company does linguistic analysis. Therefore, we need online data about specific topics. Through precise queries, Radarly offers a 360° view of all conversations around a specific topic.

What do you like best about the product?
Back Office, the fact that we can have different régions, with tailored researches. We have detailed informations on our platforms, and contact with Linkfluence teams are very efficient. The fact that we could have.
What do you dislike about the product?
We can't see influencers posts, we have to go to the Instagram account and look for the image according to the text we saw.
It doesn't gather Youtube UGCs that mention us in their description (now only in the title), which is more often the case.
No content management, no social publication available for Instagram or Youtube.
There is a looot of information, sometimes it's hard to organize it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We managed to analyse the sentiment and the top influencers posts on each platform which is really helpful for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Social Publications platform - Content Management (UGC) tool is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in order not to compete with Sprinklr that seems to be super helpful in terms of community management and content planning.

A user-friendly tool that offers access to a broad array of sources

  • April 25, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are 2 main points: first I really enjoy the diversity of digital sources available in Radarly. We can get data out of almost the entire social web (blogs, forums, social media and so on). Secondly, the tool is user-friendly: Radarly is really easy to use in terms of exploring dashboards, parameterizing and building queries.
Since the digital world is in constant evolution, it’s really pleasant to use a living tool that evolves and keeps on offering new features. Besides, the customer care is qualitative and deeply appreciated. Basically, you are not alone in the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the social landscape is constantly evolving, it would be great if Radarly could integrate new sources quickly (such as LinkedIn and Snapchat).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a marketing agency. Therefore, we have multiple and diverse requests from our clients in terms of social strategies. Thanks to Radarly we can monitor our client’s competitors and improve branded content. The tool is also regularly used to measure product awareness or brand recognition.
